Always give without remembering
Who: Simidele, Saeri, and YOU
What: Simidele thinks he has a flawless plan to help Saeri make friends and it involves gifting runestones and/or crystals to anyone he meets! That means you, and you, and yes, even you! When she remembers to look for them he's going to be in so much trouble...
When: Last week of September
Where: All over Trench
Content Warnings: Memory issues, possible language, overeager dumbass omen shenanigans
[It had all be so unfair. He'd had plans. Saeri never celebrates her birthday and he'd had just the plan to turn that around! Only for them to even forget she had a birthday for WEEKS. And by the time she remembered--and he remembered with her--it was days later and the moment for his perfect birthday surprise had passed. He couldn't reclaim it again. How was he supposed to get Saeri more friends when she kept avoiding spending time with new people? How was he supposed to show people what she brought to the friendship table?
Then Saeri had bumped into one of her dangling bowls of runestones and knocked one out of the bowl to the ground, a cooling stone that immediately caused ice to crackle across the floor. The air around it was so cold it fogged, but the reaction was brief before the power in it faded. While Saeri grumbled and cursed, hiphopping around to avoid stepping on it before she picked it up, the inspiration struck him. The answer to their problem was right there.
Unfortunately, he had to wait...and wait. For all of two days. TWO WHOLE DAYS. For Saeri to be busy enough to not notice the noise he made getting one of the baskets down. It was filled with stones and crystals with single use runes on them. Saeri used them in her experiments as one time additives, but surely other people would find them useful?
And so he struck out. Whether slinking casually down the streets of Wilfull Machine, or flying over to one of the other districts, the strapped of the bowl tight in his teeth. If he saw someone he thought might be a good friend, he would approach them immediately, earnest and proud.]
You look like you could use some magic! My friend is giving these away, do you want one?
[Please listen to him and accept his gift! No, he doesn't know what exactly each stone done--he would if he bothered to look at them, but who has the time to look at all the runes when he was on a mission?--but they were single use. They couldn't be that dangerous, certainly. But he knew he had to get rid of all of them before Saeri realized what he did and came looking.
So he had probably an hour. Plenty of time.]
{OOC: None of these runestones or crystals are particularly powerful. They are single-use runes powered by different blood types and other magical properties. The power in them will only last for a very short while once activated or in one burst of energy. Just be careful about grabbing that lightning stone, oops. Saeri is going to be hunting Simidele down and all of the people he gave stones and crystals to.}

[Michael's a little taken aback, both by the offer and by being approached by what would appear to be someone's Omen. Or maybe it isn't? With how many different species can appear here, it's hard to really be sure of anything.
He doesn't really need a magic rock. But, hey! Free stuff!]
Sure. [He picks one out of the basket at random.] What do they do?
no subject
Many things. There's so much variety to what they can do. Each stone does something different. A stone to give you a nice breeze! Or to warm up your cold coffee! Or to recharge a battery!
[His wings flutter.]
Pick one and find out what lucky skill you've chosen for yourself.
no subject
[He generates that just fine on his own! But here, his ability to do the others is pretty limited. Michael turns over the rock in his hands curiously.]
How do you make it go?
no subject
You can press energy upon it to activate the rune, or use a drop of blood. Those results tend to be more reactive.
[Perfectly safe. Not like he picked one of the more explosive ones. Hopefully.]
no subject
[One of his hands - not the one holding the rock - bursts into blue flame!]

He pauses on the stairs to the Archives, watching with an ever-so-slightly charmed smile on his face as the large, blue sparklecat darts from stranger to stranger, apparently offering them little stones from the basket hanging from its mouth. It's pretty cute, for something that looks like an escapee from furaffinity.
When one of the little stones starts throwing off sparks in someone's hand, however, he sighs and decides it's time to intervene. Before the creature can dart to the other side of the square, Shen Yuan appears in front of it, his hands on his hips.
"You're an Omen, aren't you? Does your Sleeper know you're doing this?" he asks it sternly.
no subject
As a large, winged mountain lion covered in peacock-like feathers, he shouldn't be able to make himself look at small and disarming as he does at that moment, but is he is omen. His eyes look up oh-so-innocently. Nothing to worry about here, obviously.
"Of course. We always know what each other is doing. I'm helping her."
He knows Saeri is aware and not pleased, but he is more than certain this is helping her, whether she'll agree with him or not.
"Would you be interested in a lucky runestone?"

"It's not a business, more of Saeri showing her skills. She can be really helpful if people need things. These are just an example."

From you? Yeah, sure, Simdele. I'll trade you for snacks or belly rubs, how's that?
[she's bending, looking in the basket, undecided. a little smile creeps in as she looks at the omen.]
Saeri knows you're doing this, right?
no subject
How about the belly rubs for me and the snacks for Saeri? [Because she is the important part of all of this even if he's very pleased at the idea of belly rubs from Vi. Gotta keep his mind on those priorities.]
She knows I'm out here, so you should pick a good one. [Before she gets here and takes them away.]
no subject
[a little wink at simdele and an ear scratch if he'll have it, and an appreciative grin at his feathers. he's so cool looking.]
Ahh, the pressure. Umm. Hmmm. Can you help me out here? Which one do you think is good?
[she hovers her hand over one stone, and then the next ...and then another. if she hears saeri coming she'll just grab for whatever she gets.]
no subject
Uh...all of them? [He looks over the stones.] Some are ice, some are lightning, some are fire, there's the windstone--that's the green one--or the mirror crystal, or the magnetic one--kind of looks like an egg?--and then there's the water crystal, be careful that one dissolves...
[Oh look, Saeri is coming around the corner right now, Vi you better pick quick.]

Really? Magic?
What does it do?
no subject
They can do a lot of things! Each one has a cool trick. Some of them freeze things, some of them heat things up, I think that one crystal refracts light like a disco ball...
[He rambles a bit more about the different stones and crystals and their basic abilities.]
no subject
[Don't mind Ruby as she starts picking out random stones and crystals trying each one out to see if it has the ability described.
She obviously does not pick out the one that he had indicated first.]
no subject
Uh, Ruby...maybe you should...
no subject
What is different, is his following response to it; this doesn't seem the situation where he should start patting his four-legged visitor, with the bowl of...somethings in its mouth, the offer that makes Robby glance at its contents, but not immediately guess what they are. ]
Is this an experiment?
[ ...He might be a little cautious, unsure, (definitely confused,) of what to make of this offer. This blue guy seems friendly? But he also knows where 'free' offers like this can lead.
But!! He's willing to listen! ]
no subject
[He's trying to look at innocent as a giant predator cat with wings can, but he is very earnest.]
These runestones and crystals can perform magic. Pick one and you'll get a cool magical trick.
no subject
...
... He does. He'll pick one at random, already turning it in his hand as he's bringing it up to observe. ] What's even your friend's name?
[ Also, how do magical cool party rocks work. ]
no subject
[Yes, he's very proud. The stone in his hand as a combo rune on it and Simidele paws at the ground when he notices.]
Oh! That's a smoke grenade rune! If you activate it, you have ten second to throw it.
[He isn't exactly sure why Saeri makes those, but best give some warnings.]

That is very generous of you. Any advice on which one I should pick?
[His hand hovers over the stones and crystals, unsure of which one he should pick.]
no subject
It would depend on what trick you'd want. There are firestones, water stones, ice stones, light crystals, magnet stones, and more!
no subject
Hmmm, perhaps a firestone....?
[Maul muses, waiting to be directed towards which is which. That type of stone fits his personality to a T.]
no subject
[He sticks a big into the basket, nudging one of the firestones out until it rolls out of the side and onto the ground. He also knocks two others out--a windstone and a light crystal--right next to it. His paws aren't really the size for putting into a basket. Oh well! He'll pick those up later.]
Here, take it.
