[ katherine makes a point to look him up and down. she enjoys doing it to stefan (who, of course, has her favourite reactions to it), but she can never turn down the opportunity to get under amos' skin.

she smirks. ] Or a good memory.

[rocinantes]

Aww, I'm glad our time together could be so memorable.

( don't worry, he remembers it too. )

How is your something of a husband anyway?

[manipulative]

[ you know, katherine's enjoying stefan being referred to as her "something of a husband". it may be wordy, but those extra words make it all the better. ]

Good. Broody. [ anyone who lays their eyes on stefan would be able to pick up that he broods a lot. it's the hair and square jaw, really. but she purses her lips and corrects herself, ] Very broody. I'm pretty sure you'd be able to see his broodiness from space.

[ you can see that, right? ]

[rocinantes]

Why's he brood so much?

( it's a question that he's always wondered as they walk, stopping to pull at a branch in front of them. )

Thought he'd be happier with things.

[manipulative]

[ she shrugs. ] It's just the way he is.

[ katherine imagines it's an amplification of stefan's guilt, which is something she doesn't feel needs to be said to anyone who isn't stefan. that broodiness had existed in 1864 long before he turned, but she thinks it's been amplified over the years from his bloodied past. ]

He's the pensive journalling type. I'm sure if he wanted to, he could write some very angsty poetry. [ she cracks a smile. ]

You don't think he already has?

( sounds like he probably has a journal of poetry somewhere. he smirks. )

You like that, huh?

[manipulative]

Like what?

[ katherine stops smiling as she regards him with a pointedly unamused look. oh, she knows exactly what "that" is. she just doesn't want to admit it. ]

[rocinantes]

You like the brooding, angsty, broken kind, huh?

( yeah, he's gonna tease her. he's earned it. )

[manipulative]

[ katherine rolls her eyes. ]

I do.

[ she knows he's teasing her and she refuses to grow flustered. she's simply too old for that. ]

The angsty types are a lot better than the arrogant ones. They can at least take a joke.

[rocinantes]

What, that doesn't send him crying off somewhere?

( he smirks a little. )

Cuz you've hurt his feelings?

[manipulative]

[ she looks at him pointedly, arching her eyebrow. ]

If it does, are you going to comfort me?

[rocinantes]

I don't do comfort.

( so, no. )

[manipulative]

Some friend you are.

[ katherine continues to walk, her strides long and confident despite not feeling confident at all. although her abilities are technically heightened, well… she's well-travelled, but not as well-travelled in the trench as she'd like. ]

If there's a man-eating bear in these woods, I'm not going to save you.

[rocinantes]

What makes you think I need to be saved?

( he could take a bear. )

I've fought bears before.

[manipulative]

[ she regards him with an incredulous arch of her brow. ]

How is this the first time I'm hearing about it?

[ spill the tea, jaime lannister. ]

[rocinantes]

I didn't now you were that interested.

( he starts to laugh at her exclamation though. )

You find that kind of thing hot?

[manipulative]

Depends.

[ she scrunches up her face. while katherine enjoys flirting, she's a little more interested in the bears. ]

When did you fight a bear? Why did you fight a bear? Is this some weird space initiation thing they leave out of all the movies?

[rocinantes]

God, you're really interested in this.

( he smirks. )

It was a space bear.

[manipulative]

[ she immediately rolls her eyes. ]

You're making this up.

[rocinantes]
