it's not going to hurt him if he has to show her. so, he shrugs and let's himself fall backwards into the snow. it's cold but he'd layered up for this reason. )
[ katherine does her best not to smile too widely as she watches him drop into the snow. standing over him, she wraps her arms around herself and nods.
but then she stands on the tips of her toes and searches for something in the snow around him. ]
But I can't see the angel.
[ please, stefan. do her this one honour. this is her christmas gift. ]
[ she bites her bottom lip to try and stop herself from smiling or laughing—or perhaps both. it shouldn't surprise her that stefan would so earnestly take to showing her how to do a snow angel. that's him, after all.
and she intends to take advantage of his kindness. ]
[ glaring at him for a few seconds, katherine huffs and rolls her eyes. turning on the spot, she drops into the snow beside him and lies back. spreading her arms out, she ensures to smack him in the chest. she doesn't begin to sweep them back and forth like wings.
[ katherine purses her lips as she looks at him in confusion. ]
What luck? I'm just asking for you, a very wonderful teacher, to help me learn how to make a snow angel by doing it again. [ she's slow to widen her smile. ] Repetition is the only way I'll learn.
[ while katherine doesn't look impressed in the slightest, she does place her hand in his. squinting up at the sky, she doesn't move. she considers his proposal for a moment before turning her head toward him. ]
You do know his angel's just going to look like a ditch in the snow, right?
no subject
katherine shakes her head. ] No.
[ she looks up at him expectantly, slightly cocking her brow. ] Will you show me?
no subject
it's not going to hurt him if he has to show her. so, he shrugs and let's himself fall backwards into the snow. it's cold but he'd layered up for this reason. )
Following me so far?
no subject
but then she stands on the tips of her toes and searches for something in the snow around him. ]
But I can't see the angel.
[ please, stefan. do her this one honour. this is her christmas gift. ]
no subject
( this was just the first step, katherine. so impatient. )
Then, we extend our hands and our feet out to the sides like we've been knocked down and flailed our way to the floor.
no subject
and she intends to take advantage of his kindness. ]
Are you going to do that?
no subject
( and that's exactly what he starts to do, moving his arms and legs up and down to make the impression of angel wings and the gown of an angel.
once that's done, he pushes himself up and takes a look at it. )
See?
no subject
I can't believe you did that!
[ honestly, of all the things stefan wouldn't do... she expected making a snow angel so willingly would definitely be on that list. ]
Show me the arm thing again.
no subject
( and he doesn't even mind the laughing. he just grins proudly and gestures to his snow angel. )
No no, you have to make one before I show you anything else.
no subject
I forgot.
[ she gives him a simple shrug before she laughs loudly. seems like you'll just have to show her again, stef. ]
no subject
( why you always lying, katherine? )
Your memory is better than mine.
no subject
[ she shakes her head as she scrunches up her nose again. ]
I need to see you do the arm thing again. I only saw it once, and to have a good memory, it's good to see things repeated again and again.
[ and again. and again.
katherine smiles. ]
no subject
( he sounds very pleased about his decision. he shakes his head. )
Not a chance. You do it and then I'll show you again.
no subject
she looks at him. ]
I'm doing it.
[ she knows she's not. ]
no subject
( stefan crosses his arms and shakes his head. )
That is not doing it.
no subject
But my arms are out? That's what you did, isn't it?
[ she wiggles her fingers but doesn't begin sweeping her arms. ]
no subject
( stefan laughs though. he knows what she's doing. )
Trying to get me to do it again.
no subject
What luck? I'm just asking for you, a very wonderful teacher, to help me learn how to make a snow angel by doing it again. [ she's slow to widen her smile. ] Repetition is the only way I'll learn.
[ she is, after all, old. ]
no subject
( she is old and she's also smart. )
I don't think I'm wrong. You just want to laugh at me.
no subject
[ right now. she makes a point of pressing her lips into a thin line to show that she's not laughing at all. ]
Why won't you show me? [ she cocks her brow as she begins to pout. ] Don't you want me to learn how to make the best snow angels?
no subject
( he motions to the snow angel that's on the ground. )
It's right there, Katherine. You can clearly see that I have shown you.
no subject
I can't see it. I think you need to do it again. [ she looks at him earnestly. ] Or maybe hold my hand this time.
no subject
( again!! )
no subject
katherine does have the audacity to roll her eyes at him as though he's inconvenienced her—and he has!
she mumbles, ] I'll do it as well.
no subject
( he reaches out for her and wiggles his fingers. )
Come on, let's make snow angels. It'll be cute. We could get Aleksander out here to make a snow angel dog too.
no subject
You do know his angel's just going to look like a ditch in the snow, right?
[ but the idea is really, really cute. ]
