obi-wan, robby, and mob
Robby knows about Obi-Wan through Tory, and what he apparently did for her in controlling her erratic darkblood abilities, so he gets his contact from her and finds a good time to meet him, at apparently some shop. Easy enough to arrive to with directions, and Robby comes with the younger guy in tow, taking the first step inside and looking for the teacher. He's got some description to go with, and 'bearded man in his 30-40s' shouldn't lead him too astray in approaching the right guy.
He does so a little unsure, but only in that anywhere new can be unpredictable, neutral otherwise when he nods his head walking over. ]
Hey, I'm Robby, and this is Mob? Thanks for letting us come.

of course he follows robby's lead, though he does a respectful bow in greeting.] Thank you for your time. [just his quiet addition to that.]
no subject
Of course. Anyone is welcome here.
[ robby may not sense it, but to mob, obi-wan would feel like a river of light, tethered to a greater power. ]

Robby doesn't particular want to speak for Mob, and he doesn't feel he needs to, but he can be an opening for letting Mob explain his problem and powers. So, with a look between the smaller guy and Obi-Wan: ]
Mob, uh, comes from a world where having powers isn't all that normal, so he hasn't gotten to train them much. He joined the dojo I'm with, but I know our sensei isn't familiar with this stuff either, so I thought it'd be good for him to come to someone who might be.
[ He looks to Mob again, nodding his head. Your time to share what you feel comfortable with, buddy. ]

his own is a bit odd if obi can read it, muted on the surface level with some attempt at containment. there's a gravity that seems to want to absorb any other power that gets within it's orbit. the sense of something massive passing by just under the boat.
mob's grateful when robby gives him an opening there, he was definitely fidgeting a little while trying to think of what to say next. he glances from robby to obi, allowing himself a moment to gather his thoughts before settling and looking to obi solemnly.]
I'm psychic. That's what we call it, or espers. They're tied to our emotions, I guess? Mine are. I um, I'm worried because sometimes I can't control it though. [his gaze lowers] People have gotten hurt.
With corruption and this beast stuff I'm especially worried. Where I'm from if I lost control no one would be able to stop me if they needed to. [just the simplicity of fact in his tone there.] Here people turn into monsters and lose control enough to have hunters for it.

I am a Jedi. We're taught to express and let go of our emotions so that they do not cause undue harm to others. So that our powers do not escape our control.
Through meditation and technique, this is possible. Are you willing to try it?
no subject
There's sympathy, of course, but Mob doesn't need him to voice any of that. His support is by being here with him, and then after. ]

[a pause and he asks,] What is that big power you're tied to? I've never seen an aura like that before.
[while considering this he realizes robby might not be able to see it. a moment's thought and he lifts a finger to robby, not unlike when he shared power with him before but far easier this time. partially because he's just sharing a little bit, partially because it seems the two times of before have imprinted on robby a little.
either way he may be able to see the aura now too, enjoy. it'd be rude to have a conversation in front of robby about it otherwise, he thinks.]

That is the Force. It is an energy field that binds all living things together. As a Jedi, I was taught to harness and work with the Force. It gave me abilities much like yours.
no subject
and also, you know. Just seeing a guy's aura when he previously saw nothing is a shock. He looks between Mob and Obi-Wan, just sort of...baffled by this new experience. ]
There's two schools for tapping into it, right? Through letting go of your emotions, [ as Obi-Wan just said, ] or by controlling it at their extremes.
[ He's not Force-splaining here, but it feels wrong not to express he might know a little, looking at Obi-Wan to if he got it right, even.
But he does look to Mob, too. ] It sounds kind of like your power. [ The emotional influence, anyway. ]
no subject
either way he nods to robby's assessment.] It's closer than anything else I've seen here. [which is exciting, maybe this really would help.
(he really needed it to. 9%)
regardless he goes quiet, curious about the answer to robby's question.]
no subject
Let me put it this way. What happens when you get angry?
no subject
...You get too wrapped up in it?
no subject
[a nod to robby's though, that's actually pretty spot on too.]
no subject
Sometimes, you bottle it up until it bursts or you lash out immediately, causing harm. The point is not to control your emotions to the point of non-existence, but to control them so that they do not control you.
All emotions are meant to be expressed, but when they cause harm to others, that is where you must draw a line. Especially if you have skills and powers that may exacerbate them.
no subject
He doesn't say anything, though. He wants to look at Mob and see what he says, thinks on that. It's his issue, and he knows it better -- what does he think about what the man said? ]
no subject
but that's why they're here. his gaze goes back to obi-wan, determined to see this through properly.] What if that line is hard to tell?
no subject
That is what the training is for. To understand yourself better. The Jedi are peacekeepers with great powers. We train so that we can serve the people better. And never abuse the powers that we were given.
no subject
[ He knocks Mob's arm with the back of his hand gently, a more reassuring confidence than anything. A smile to follow if he looks at him. ]
no subject
he offers another little bow, solemnly saying,] That's um, that's what I want. I don't have much to offer in return right now but if you'd be willing to train me...
no subject
still. it is his duty. he was still obi-wan and someone needed help. who was he to ever say no. ]
No payment or favors required. We can start here, every week if you like.
no subject
We meditate at Miyagi-do, and it doesn't sound different from what you teach, but I'd like to help Mob where I can outside of sessions. [ Hesitation, and a slight shrug. ] I know I can't follow, but I can listen.
[ Be support. Plus, meditation isn't boring to him. ]
no subject
I'd like that, if it's okay- um, what should I call you?
[said to obi-wan. he has master reigen back home and now sensei larusso. what do you call a teacher like obi-wan? maybe sensei too?]
no subject
[ as for a title, obi-wan runs his fingers down his beard. ]
Obi-Wan is fine. Usually my students call me Master, but I don't think that's necessary. Or you have one you deem appropriate, I'm happy to be called by it.
no subject
...
...but he might be looking at Mob and wondering...if he'll pick Master. (he's going to, isn't he) ]
