JANUARY EVENT
young sasuke/pre-uchiha massacre (7)
But there was no familiar faces here. No Auntie offering him sweets as he walked down the streets, no Iruka sensei to give him whatever lesson on ninjutsu he was supposed to be learning at the moment, no mom to cook him meals. Most importantly, there was no Itachi to bother, to beg to take him out to train, to whine at when he wasn't getting his way.
It was cold and it was lonely and he didn't much care for either of those. But he didn't want to stop looking for any sign of someone he knew. It was easy to find him wandering the snow streets, blowing out small puffs of fire (with much more concerted effort and in far more pathetic amounts than his older self would one day perform) to warm his hands every now and then, grumbling to himself. ]
Stupid snow. Who even likes winter?
no subject
Someone needed to cheer this kid up. And a much younger, somehow more energetic Ruby had the perfect idea on how to do that.
By gathering up some snow, packing it into a ball and hucking it at the back of his head. Whether it hits or not she's going to be giggling up a storm.]
Awww come on! It's not that bad if you have fun with it.

He turns around to give her a glare. How dare!!! ]

Except there's some curiosity as he looks at the fort he's hiding behind. It snowed in Konoha, but not usually enough to make anything big out of it. ]

Two babehs
She's managed to find her way to the towns, trying to look less scared than she feels. There were people around, none of whom she knew, and none of whom seemed to know her. She tried to keep herself hidden while she figures it out, but after searching for hours she's starting to feel a little emotional.
Finally, feeling too overwhelmed she finds a place to sit down and as soon as she does she buries her head in her lap and just...well cries. ]

It's then that he hears the muffled crying somewhere nearby and while he does his best to tell himself it's not his problem, he's not quite as jaded as his elder self, so it ends up not settling well to just ignore it. Sasuke starts to look around the courtyard until he notices the small head of pink hair that reminds him somewhat of home.
He went over, cautious at first, before he's sure of it. It's the weird girl who sits next to him at the Academy. Who was she again? He frowns, the name not coming to him, but he's not going to ignore that there's someone else from Konoha here. That's a good sign. ]
Hey. Stop crying.
[ Alright, he's never been the best at comforting. ]

exploring
[ Sasuke tries to make more than one of these trips throughout the month and well into the next. If he's with a group of people who can move more quickly, he uses his chakra speed to try and cut a few days off the journey. If not, he lets himself go at a brisker pace, but tries to keep their limitations in mind. He's never done well in groups, but he knows not everyone has a compass, and he also knows that it's safer in numbers in this place. Better to keep the odds in the favor. He might not talk too much on the way, but he's focused and ready for battle should any monsters come their way, and might be willing to make small talk if anyone comes up to him.
Regardless, rest eventually becomes necessary. Making camp is a quick set up for him, though he's not one who is very fond for sleeping in the cold. His mat has another layer between it and the snow in hopes it will help, but mostly, he has a feeling he won't sleep too much. He's prone to insomnia as is. So he can easily be found near the fire, staring into it's flames, or heating up a snack over the steady heat. He can also be found keeping watch, standing just a little farther out than the rest of the group, Sharingan activated so he can keep an eye out from all angles easily. ]
in the city
[ After arriving with the group, he might do his best to not split up, but it happens to everyone. Especially in a new place where the streets feel like a maze and the buildings keep moving the moment he turns his back on them. It's like the Tower, but worse, and he heaves a sigh of annoyance now and then when he makes a turn onto a street he's pretty sure he's come down at least three times.
At least once, he makes it to the library, where he'll pour over books to try and gather any information he can. He's not the studious sort and he can't memorize things as well as Sakura, but he can at least take in a good chunk of information quickly enough. It's the same at city hall, although he's more careful with the records than the books, trying to find some meaning in them, something that will tell him when this place may have become a ghost town.
The church makes him uneasy, though he still goes in. The Other World isn't something he's keen about going into, especially not more than once, but if someone were to try and talk him into it, he probably would follow for the right reasons. ]
voices
[ At first, Sasuke can block out the cruel words. He's focused, on task, and it's not like he hasn't heard people say shit about him his entire life. But after a while, it starts to dig under his skin, especially when the sins of his past are mocked so efficiently.
He would've killed his friends. He would have destroyed a village full of innocents. He did destroy innocents. Ripped apart families. Maimed. Tortured. Killed. A monster who's trying to play nice but is always too close to breaking down. Someone who didn't deserve the happiness he'd found, the second chances...
There's a moment when he's weak, tired, has probably been pushing himself too hard or is even still dealing with the side effects of eating the bad food at Madame Generosity's party... Whatever it was, he clearly forgets he's not alone when he closes his eyes, letting out a growled, desperate: ] Shut up already!
TRAVELING - Spicy Older Lizard Flavor
[There's a hardness in his expression too. No more nervous darting of eyes, no more twitching at the slightest sound. Even the way he moves seems more confident, too. His mace now carried in his hand, rather than stowed at his hip.]
[Not a word is exchanged as he falls into step with Sasuke. This is a fellow who is used to danger, he can tell. Thus, the perfect version to team up with.]
no subject
Luckily, Sasuke's socially awkward even when things aren't strange, so he's not acting any different. ]
... Have you heard anything about the city we're supposedly heading for?

Church
Either way, Sasuke seemed focused on going in and where he went, she would too. She noticed they'd been quiet for awhile as they explored, not that her husband was a man of many words, but she found it hard to spark up a conversation.
When they entered the nursery, she saw the doorway to the other world and it gave her pause. She reached out for his arm, needing his safety in that moment. ]

food poisoning
That's the question he never should have thought of, regretting it now that he's curled up on a snowy sidewalk, burning a fever and doubled over with stomach pains. He's not that far from home, he should be able to just pull himself up and keep walking, but it's apparently a little too much. He's been too proud to ask for help from the handful of Trenchies who sometimes shuffle by, but when he notices someone who feels like a Sleeper, his hand finally shoots out to grab onto whatever piece of fabric he can reach.
Apparently this is how he asks for assistance. It's not very graceful, but hey. He's new to this. ]

Party food got you too, huh? Next couple days are gonna suck.
[Seeing as how it's not one of those curses resolvable by talking about your feelings ... though he doesn't put it past the Pthumerians to do so one of these days.]

older sasuke (33)
canon updatessituations where they are able to go home for a bit of time. He's definitely more grown up, somehow even quieter than he was before, but the risidual anger he had been holding on to even at twenty has disappeared. He's more restless, though, feeling like he's not of much use in this city the way he is back home. That restlessness would leave too much room to think about the family he has to go back to and because of it, he's trying to find ways to fill his time. He will help with exploration quite a bit at this age, or if he sees someone being attacked by a beast, he's much more likely to intervene, slamming a well-timed chidori into the chest of the creature to weaken it.
He's also more prone to helping those who are sick if he sees them on the side of the road. Catching someone who is too weak to keep going or who is getting sick in the snow will make him stop, his hand resting on their shoulder cautiously to see if they're alright. ]

FEBRUARY EVENT
getting to know you
Sasuke hates interacting with people, especially strangers, and here he is, being forced into it with absolutely no escape that he can see. Every time he tries to dodge a question, he's shocked, and it's almost instinct for him to avoid and lie outright at this point, so to say the least, it's happening a lot. That blurb is also annoying as hell, though at least it's tame in comparison to some of the cheap shots this place could have taken.
He looks a little exhausted before too long because of all of it. At some point, he'd given in to the bar, and the whiskey on the rocks is clutched almost like a life line in his hand. Letting out a sigh, he doesn't both to open his eyes when he hears the next person sit down across from him. ]
Can't we just sit here in silence?
[ He's going to get zapped again. ]
no subject
Nor does his own embarrassing blurb, for that matter. He almost wishes getting trashed was still a proper option for him. Even Qrow isn't prepared to risk cursed refreshments in here so soon after his last wild Magical Food Poisoning adventure, though, so he finds himself lacking of something with which to busy his hands to cover the inevitable awkward silences that are sure to ensue.]
I mean we could, but Doorway would probably find a way to make us regret it.

CLOSED TO SHARON
What is unusual is how aggressive he begins to get about it. Sasuke has worked very hard over the years to control his anger and to not lash out, but the way he's acting now is far more akin to when he lost his memories. Worse, even, as he now has an even larger desire to hurt others, and seems perfectly willing to act on it, even though he often knows full well just who he is lashing out at, even when it's his closest friends.
He's already on edge when he sees Sharon, his hand gripping a kunai under his cloak rather tightly, like it's some kind of security blanket. ]
If you're here to yell at me about bonds, the speeches got old a long time ago. I'm not interested.
no subject
Good, because I'm not here for that. [ She isn't one for grand speeches about love and friendship. His irritability over the idea doesn't seem out of place, though. He's never been the rah-rah power of friendship type. ]
So, what's got you all riled up and pissed off? [ No reason to dance around the subject. He knows why she's here even if she doesn't out right say it: she's concerned. Sudden changes in mood and aggression are never a good sign in this fucked up city. ]
