[ Something about Chizuru seems a little nervous.

It's not too obvious, so it might have been hard to tell to any third party watching this, but with Jinx touching her? It's probably more obvious to the other that Chizuru almost seems to wince a little when she gets the fake weapon placed into her hands. Sure, it's just a toy gun, but it's just a little too close to weapons she has seen cause terrible harm back home to the people she loves, so she startles a little bit.

Even as she keeps holding it, her body seems a little more rigid than usually. ]

O-Okay. [ Still - she does her best to listen to the explanation.

She does want to win Jinx a prize too. It's important. ]

It's a little scary. [ She at least admits that, even if it's a little on the soft side. But she wants to try being honest here, even if she usually wouldn't be. But she's-- she's dating Jinx, so it's also important to be honest. ] But I'll try to do my best for you.

( sure, jinx can get oblivious at times, but she is taking note on the other's body language, the wince, and the uncertainty. it's to be expected, really. rabbits are sweet creatures, usually. some can be rabid and vicious -- out of the three, vi is the most feisty on. chizuru, on the other hand, is the gentle side and skittish (even though she is a demon).

to reassure her, she keeps close and keep their hands together with the gun. )

Just remember. It's just a game. Once you see how it goes, I promise you'll see there's nothin' to be scared about. ( she continues to coo sweetly in her ear. ) Will it help if we shoot the target together?

[ Chizuru echoes the words after Jinx says them, though she says them much more softly, like she's whispering them to herself - though also clearly audible to Jinx, with how close the two of them are right now.

It's like she's trying to reassure herself with the other's words, inhaling and exhaling deeply to try and settle that anxious feeling in her chest. ]

Do you think we can shoot together..? [ It might be a little bit more inconvenient, after all. Which is why Chizuru can't help but ask.

But on the other hand - she does feel like she can do this as long as Jinx is right there with her. Much more so than she thinks she could ever do this by herself. ]

I'm sure our game keeper here wouldn't mind if we do it together in the first try, right?

( she flicks her gaze over to the man (with a very, very subtle "bitch you better allow this or i'm coming for you" look) and he reluctantly nods. so with that confirmation, her focus is back on chizuru and the gun. jinx guides her own finger and hers to slip through the trigger. it's a little snug, sure, but luckily for them -- they are both tiny girls with tiny hands (assumingly so, anyway). once she feels the both have a good grip on it, jinx goes back to muttering: )

Okay, ready? We'll pull it together. Nice and easy.

Even if there may have been a little bit of pressure involved that Chizuru was unaware of. But, ssh, let's keep the girl oblivious for now. She's way too busy focusing on the gun and the game to really notice anything else in this moment.

All she notices is the game in front of them - and the feeling of Jinx's hand so close to her own. Chizuru wonders if Jinx can feel how rapidly her heart is beating right about now.. ]

J-Just a moment. [ She gently protests, though it's already a lot for Chizuru to actually ask for that moment, instead of just going along with it. She feels like she has to take a few deep breaths first, for one. ]

I know it's fake, but.. pulling the trigger really seems like the scariest part..

[ Maybe since it's so connected to the loss of life in her mind. ]

But I.. I'll do it. If you give the sign, I'll move my finger too.. [ She has to try. ]

( jinx hums gently to her, a way of expressing she understands where the girl is coming from in her line of thinking. the trigger tends to be the scary part, for sure. and luckily for chizuru, it's not at all a real gun or a weapon that will throw her off her balance when pulled. so she continues to stand behind her with her arm still out and finger still with hers. )

We'll do it in three, okay? One shot and then we'll breathe.

( with someone as sensitive as chizuru, jinx knows she will need a moment to recollect her thoughts after pulling the toy trigger. and being her protector, her duty is to make sure she is right there to soothe and comfort with every big leap she makes.)

One.... Two.... Three.

( and on the three, her slender finger gently presses down with the other's -- not doing it sudden or harsh. nice and easy. )

[ Chizuru is listening here. She's actively participating. Even though it is a little scary, the entire idea of pulling the trigger, it's not like she tries to weasel her way out of it.

Instead she tries to carefully breathe, to try and calm herself down. Listening to Jinx's countdown, and then on three--

She presses her own finger down as well, just as she can feel Jinx doing the same thing.

It's a toy gun, so thankfully there's not a whole lot of recoil, but still just a touch - just enough to make Chizuru let out the tiniest yelp.

When she recovers though, she's quick to look and see whether they managed to hit the target. ]

D-Did we do it..?

( they almost didn't hit the target. but jinx played games like this so many times in her youth that she knows when it's too slow or too fast with the trigger pressing. so the little ball barely squeezed through the little hole it needed to go in. still, jinx takes a step back from the girl to cheer loudly and laugh. )

Woo hoo, look at that...!! — We did it, Chizuru! Sheesh, I better watch out for you. You miiiiight get a hang of it and I'll have another competitor on my hands.

( with a giggle, the teen bounces back over to the other then throws her arms back around her for a big bear hug. )

But really! That was SO amazing!!

W-What?

[ It's a surprised sputter, especially when she's suddenly dragged into the other's arms. It's something Chizuru doesn't resist in the slightest, of course, but she still seems to be a little bit caught off guard by the fact that it worked out in the first place..

It's a good kind of surprise, though. Especially once she'll get over it in a minute. She already seems to be melting a little bit in Jinx's arms here, the flustered surprise turning into flustered happiness, a faint blush on her cheeks. ]

Aw, come on.. You know I'd never be better than you! [ Especially when it comes to this, of all things. ] It only worked out, since.. um, like you said, we did it. Together.

( what an adorable blush. it makes jinx smiles even warmer and keeps the other in her hold just a wee bit longer. the chuckle is gentle too as she nuzzles her cheek against chizuru's as if she is some sort of feline. )

Yeeaaah, well. Get use to it. 'Cuz you and me? We're gonna do a lotta stuff together from here on out. Rabbit and... ( a pause. ) whatever I am! The best team in Trench.

( a quick kiss on the cheek before finally letting go; giving the other some space. )

You wanna give it a whirl on your own?

[ .. sorry. Hold on? Did Jinx just say something?

Because it doesn't get through to Chizuru. Not right away, anyway. Somewhere between that sudden hug and then the nuzzling and the cheek kiss, Chizuru has to stand there for a moment and process everything that just happened to her, like it momentarily left her in a daze. It's only broken when Chizuru slowly raises her hand to touch the cheek she just got kissed on, ducking her head with a paleblood blush spreading across her cheeks all the way to the tip of her nose.

It means there's definitely a moment of silence - of silent processing - before she's able to say: ]

I can try, but.. I don't know how well it's going to go.. [ At least it's not a very intense protest.

After all, she's still partially lingering in that surprised daze. ]

And I don't want to risk you not getting your prize..

( grinning while teething on her lower lip for a moment, she playfully bumps her hip against chizuru's. )

You listen here and listen good: If you win me somethin' or not, I don't really care. ( it's be sweet to have a stuffie, but it's not her main focus. )

— What's important to me is that you gave this a shot. I know this isn't your everyday thing, but living is all about trying new stuff. If you enjoy it? Great! If not, that's great, too. You gotta spread your bunny paws and explore new gardens.

So... ( her tone sweetens again. ) As long as you did something' new today, that's enough for me.

I.. [ She starts, but then seems to lose some energy after that first word.

The effect is only temporary though, because Chizuru shakes her head, seeming to refind the energy she had a moment ago when she started on the sentence when she actually continues with: ] I really want to win you something though!

[ Not because she experiences any real pressure from Jinx, of course. What the other is saying here makes it very clear to Chizuru that the other truly wouldn't mind it if Chizuru didn't win.

It seems to be something she's just personally made up her mind about instead. ]

If you're doing something nice for me, then I want to do something nice for you too..! U-Um, I mean-- in equal measures!

( still all smiles and shaking her head, jinx playfully throws her arms up before clasping her hands behind her back. )

Whelp, I can't argue with that!! — Let's see then. If you win me somethin', I'll give you another surprise. If you don't, ... you'll still get a surprise from me. Really can't lose here.

( that's not really how it's suppose to go, but jinx beats to her own set of drums and do things her way pretty often. although, the teen is just a wee bit curious if chizuru can take a few more shots without her help. it'd be a sight to see, for sure. )

[ Thankfully there's no pressure being added on top of what already exists within Chizuru's heart. After all, when Jinx is putting it like that, it means there's basically no chance of disappointing the other here.

(But isn't it usually like this? Chizuru would be much harder on herself than anyone else would be on her, Jinx included. She's the only one who'd feel like she might have disappointed Jinx if she'd fail here.)

So she nods. ]

Alright, I'll-- I'll do my best!

[ There's still that stutter in her tone, but the girl does look determined to try here. Shooting the gun even together with Jinx was a little scary, but she's gathering all of her courage here as she turns back towards the targets, slowly raising the gun and doing her best to aim. Chizuru can feel her breath quickening a little from nerves and fear, but she moves her hand all the same. Putting it back on the trigger, just like it had been a moment ago, even if the feeling of Jinx's cold hand next to her own is missing now.

.. it does make it feel harder. Hard enough that Chizuru just stands there for a moment without pulling the trigger--

Until she breathes in and does it.

Her hand shakes though from all the nerves, which means that despite firing the toy gun, she's definitely missing the mark of the target. Not by a long shot, but-- it's definitely not a hit, and when Chizuru realises that as she lowers the gun, the expression on her face turns kind of bummed. ]

.. oh. I'm sorry, I guess I didn't do it..

( contrast to chizuru being bummed about missing the shot, jinx cheers and throws her arms up in the air to congratulate her. )

Rabbit, you did it!! You actually went for it...!

( she is just swelling in so much happiness over this and she grabs onto both of the other's hands (gun still in tow, oops) -- bouncing up and down in place. )

I knew you had it in you. I didn't doubt ya for a second!! — I'm so proud of you.

( yes, chizuru didn't hit the target but that's not what was important. the true importance was the girl tried something new and did something on her own. was it scary for her? sure, but she bit the bullet and conquered that fear. jinx will never expect chizuru to ever hold a real gun nor she ever wants her to. but over something harmless like this? over a little game that is meant to be all fun? these things she wants to open her eyes and explore the joy with her or with any of her friends. )

( and it's not all for not because the carnival booth man clears his throat then gears the girls' attention to the toy selection. chizuru couldn't win the big stuff, but she can still pick out from the tiny toy pile. and in the tiny pile, it consists of little keychains, toy rings, bracelets, stickers, and other knick knacks. )

[ Oh gosh, oh gosh, it's such a good thing that Chizuru's finger isn't anywhere near the trigger anymore, that's for sure-- though she still worries a little bit about either of them accidentally touching it while Jinx is grabbing her hands and the gun like that. I-It just seems a little unsafe..!

But before she can say anything about that - or about the very overwhelming fact of just how excited Jinx seems about all of this, like the other is proud of her - her attention is indeed drawn back over to the stall.

Not wanting to make anyone wait, Chizuru gently pries her hands away from Jinx, just so she can turn and look through the knick knacks. It feels a little bad to give Jinx something so small when Chizuru got something much bigger, b-but at least it's something..?

And she takes the selection so seriously too. There's a thoughtful frown on the girl's face, and after looking through it for a few moments, she pulls out a cute little monkey keychain. Quickly moving back over to the other girl's side, Chizuru holds it out to her. ]

.. here. I know it's not as impressive as the gift you got me, but.. I hope you like it.

[ Jinx does seem to like monkeys, after all, if the other's fond relationship with her Omen is anything to go by. It only seems appropriate. ]

( oh yes, yes, it is time to pick out the prize. and she will give no commentary on what she is eyeing or wanting. this part is all chizuru and she will patiently wait for the other choose. and when chizuru holds up the monkey keychain, jinx beams again -- the pinks sparkle in pure delight. the teen squeals and takes the little monkey from her hands then holds it up for a better angle. )

Awww, I love him! ... I'mma name him "Buttons" 'cuz he's cute as a button.

( and we are going to pretend at the end of this said keychain has a hook and she snaps it on her belt hop. being silly, jinx sways her hips from side to side so the monkey can move around, too. )

Ta~da! Perfect fit.

[ There's relief in seeing the other girl's reaction. Sure, with Chizuru being Chizuru, there's a bit of guilt for not being able to return the gesture in such a big way as Jinx had given her in the first place, but she's still glad the other is happy with it - and believes this reaction to be genuine on Jinx's part too.

(Jinx says she hates liars, after all.) ]

It is really cute.

[ Besides, that's just an objective truth, isn't it? ]

And it'll be a little easier to take him everywhere than Yuki. [ N-Not that Chizuru doesn't love her new odd-bird-pal! She'll treasure him too, even taking him back from Jinx now her arms aren't filled up with the toy gun anymore. ]

Oh, oh! ( suddenly she gets a really stupid idea the moment she mentions about taking things somewhere. ) — What if I make some sort of sticky thing where Buttons can ride on Yuki's back?

A lil' guy like him will get tired swinging from branch to branch with his size. And when I come over, I'll bring him by, too.

( so they can get to know each other better or be lovers. wouldn't that be neat? a sitcom of yuki and the buttons. make it netflix. anyway, shitpost rping aside, jinx makes her way close to the other again -- smiling. )

You ready for a ride next? Don't worry, nothing too crazy.

( because most carnival rides usually deals with a lot of fast spinning in circles, feet dangling in the air as you get shot up like a slingshot, or just complete nausea fest.)

[ That is a cute idea.

Cute enough that it gets Chizuru to duck her head slightly for a moment, a smile playing around her lips, a small laugh rolling off her tongue. Maybe she's already imagining it in her head - or maybe she's just glad that Jinx seems so excited about all this. She deserves to have a good day here.

Still, apparently the other is already moving on to the next thing, so Chizuru makes sure to quickly look back up again, smiling over at the other girl. ]

[ She doesn't sound too nervous, thankfully..

.. even if it may just be that Chizuru has very, very little idea what these rides are like.. And if it's something Jinx wants to do, then she wants to join in too! ]

( onward to the rides then! so what could be ~~pet~~ ~~rabbit~~ chizuru appropriate? with her fingers link with the other, she leads her on to look around more in the carnival. a lot more games, food stands (that will come later), and "COME SEE THE TALLEST PERSON ALIVE" behind a tent (that is obviously a scam because wouldn't they NOT be in a tent then?). she spots a ferris wheel in the distance, though. it doesn't seem too high and the way it's twirling appears to be a medium speed.

so jinx points with her index over to the attraction. )

How about that? 'Sides your surprise is there.

( why yes, she hadn't forgotten about the "surprise" she mentioned much earlier. and the ride looks to be the perfect place to give it to her. )

[ Chizuru sounds a little surprised - for a multitude of reasons - as she turns her head to look at Jinx.

First of all since she was so busy looking around at all the things surrounding them, especially everything that's so foreign to a girl like Chizuru, knowing that Jinx would safely guide her along through their joined hands. Then there's the surprise of the ferris wheel, considering Chizuru has no idea what that even is, and--

Well, there's the surprise of the surprise, of course. ]

It's over there?

[ Chizuru may be taking this a little too seriously, but then again, what else is new? It makes her stare over in the direction of the ferris wheel with big, curious eyes. ]

You mean it's.. somewhere near that big wheel..?

Yep! We gotta ride it and sometimes it stops at the tippy top. If it stops for us, then I can give ya the surprise.

( and even if it doesn't stop when they reach the top, jinx will definitely talk into the person in charge to do so for them.

maybe slip them a bloodstone or something in their pocket to work in her favor. the prodigy is definitely cooking up something sly, but for once, it's something that isn't wrongful. at least not in her eyes. )

[ Chizuru seems readily accepting of this idea. A little thoughtful, perhaps, since she's chewing on this concept that's so entirely new to her, but she doesn't seem turned off by the idea.

It's not even just because of the surprise, really. If that's something Jinx wants to go on, then of course Chizuru will go with her. You have to try everything at least once, even if it's so very new to you..!

So the girl nods, and then she's taking the lead this time to step in the direction of the ferris wheel, gently tugging Jinx along through their joined hands. ]

What's it like to ride it?

[ She does glance over at the other - half-curious, but also half with a smile. ]

I mean.. It kind of sounds like you know. [ Or like Jinx may have some sort of experience with it, at least. More so than Chizuru herself has ever had, coming from a time before funfairs. (Then again - Jinx's homeworld didn't exactly sound like the kind of place where there was fun like this going on all the time either.) ]
