[Reaper had taken his time with recovery, which left him trapped in his room for a few days. When it seemed that he could get around without having long episodes of shortness of breath, he appeared more downstairs. That's where he happened to be, settled into a chair with the other occupants of the house.

He knew they had questions, knew that most of them would have to do with Lance's outburst on the network. That wasn't the kid's fault; they didn't always control their Omens. And Lance had been circling the drain for years now, barely holding on. Not the kid's fault. For as long as he had known Lance, the kid had been teetering on the edge of a mental crisis.

However, this wasn't about Lance right now. This was about the household where he resided, and many of the youngsters who lived in it. As the eldest, he knew that his position here was the most tenuous.

So Reaper sat quietly, one ankle crossed over his other knee. He remained in comfortable black clothing, and while situations like these usually had him wearing his mask, he had decided against it. Instead, his scarred face was bare, though he kept his hood up to cover most of his white hair. His gloved hands were folded in his lap, thumbs clasping the mask that he would normally wear. Instead, it lightly tapped against his thigh.]

So, I suppose we should call this meeting to order, hmm?

Mm, sure.

Who all are here?

Right, let me go down the line!

That older guy, the oldest in our house, that's Reaper! He can turn intangible though, so don't be surprised if you don't see him a lot. He's still here. His whole deal is something you need to ask him though. He's pretty private.

That's Varian! He's pretty much a genius, but went through some stuff in the last town so he's got one leg. Don't let that fool you though, he's one of the cleverest people you'll meet!

That's Fern! He's a grass boy, it's a long story, but he's one of the strongest people in Trench and he can grown stuff on his body! Be careful in his room though, lots of swords.

And that's Luca! He's the newest person in the house, or at least he was until you arrived! Also, he's actually a fish kid but he turns into a human on land! Normally I wouldn't tell you that because that's his secret, but you're going to be living here so it only makes sense you know that!

And there's me of course, but you already know me! A regular girl who knows magic and is practicing to be a witch!

[danserai]

[ fern . . . the knight. she absorbs all this thoughtfully.

wait. ]

A fish?

I guess it might be more accurate to call him a "sea monster" but that's both rude and I can't see him as anything but a boy who's able to live in the sea.

But you might want to ask him more about it yourself.

[danserai]

[ she has so many questions . . . but luz is right. it's best to ask luca about them instead of asking a third party. ]

Cool! If you have any questions about the house, feel free to ask Fern and Varian too, they know the most since they lived here the longest! I'm still getting used to having my own room here!

It's okay, all I need is a room. I won't cause any trouble.

[imaglyphwitch]

What trouble did you think you'd cause? I wanted you to come, remember? Just be yourself! I'm sure you'll get along with the housemates just fine!

[danserai]

[ be yourself. easier said than done . . . ]

O-Okay. I'll do my best.

That's all we can ask!

We're all pretty much trying our best around here!

That's right! That's how it should be!

[Gosh, she is so cute arrgh].

Exactly! You'll fit in here just fine!

[ watch her rock the girl thing!! ]

If Reaper can fit in, trust me, you'll have no problem!

[ she's staying in a house with a guy named reaper. ]

[Luz saw that look].

Don't worry! He's pretty much ok!

[That "pretty" was very dubious though].

[ she sighs. ]

Okay. If you say so.

You know, if anyone or anything bothers you in the house, just let me or Fern or Varian know, ok? Luca's still getting used to things himself, and the three of us are the adults. Sort of.

[Ok, maybe Luz a little less, but she didn't really want to admit that].

[danserai]

[ literally none of them are adults . . . ]

I don't think anyone will bother me.

[She SAID sort of]!

I don't think so either.

[It was the stuff outside the house Ahiru needed to worry about, but Luz would fill her in on that later].

Right. Then I'll just put my stuff in my room and get to know everyone . . .

[imaglyphwitch]

Sure, you do that!

And we need to start getting you some new clothes too, right?

[danserai]

Oh, right. I should really get more clothes . . .

And shoes, Ahiru. Don't want to really walk barefoot around here.

[Luz had made that mistake once. Never again].
