[Vyng's voice drops to a hushed whisper. He hugs the nearest wall and gently pulls Billie along with him.
Whatever these stooges have up their baggy sleeves, they're capable of dragging away somebody as big and strong as Tuck.
If they want to save their friend, they need to think a little more strategically. Make sure they don't even get the chance to attack either of them. Besides, Tuck would be furious if anybody got their hands on their kid. Not that Billie can't defend himself, of course — he's devastating in a fight when he needs to be. But they're not dealing with hapless randos, either.]
You think you could do something to distract them? [He crouches down next to Billie.] Maybe we can get the drop on these guys.

[Billie scurries off after the pair of robed figures. He grabs one of them by the back of the robe and tugs on it to get their attention. When the figure turns around, it's an entirely regular looking human man who bends down to see what this child could possibly want.
Billie grabs the man by the collar and peers into his face.]
Hey! Where's our friend?!
no subject
"Huh?" He glances at the other figure. "You know this ki—?"
He doesn't get to finish.]
TURTLEDUCK!
[Propelled by a gust of wind, Vyng bodyslams the second robed figure. They roll across the ground together, until Vyng's effectively pinned the man down. Over his shoulder, he yells:]
And there's more where that came from, pal! Tell us what we wanna know.
no subject
Billie kicks at his chest.]
I don't believe you! Where's Tuck?!
no subject
Huh? [Vyng blinks.] Dale? You're the one who kidnapped Tuck?
["Wha—! No, you idiot!" Dale hisses. "He was probably grabbed by a bunch of zealots!"]
no subject
Zealots?
["Dale! You know these guys?!" The other disciple tries to hold Billie out from him like a squirming cat, but he can't maintain his grip. He drops the boy, and yelps sharply as Billie kicks him in the shins.]
no subject
Who're these zealots?
["They're obsessed with the Tower," the first disciple grounds out between his teeth, still smarting from where Billie kicked him. Under his breath, he adds: "Geez, that hurt..."]
The Tower? Why?
["They make blood sacrifices to the Tower, to keep the city safe," Dale answers. "They're ancient Sleepers. But they've lost themselves to corruption. They don't have a compassionate bone in their body anymore."]
no subject
Sorry...
[He looks between the three of them, but if they make blood sacrifices and they have Tuck...]
How do we find them?
no subject
Hm. [Vyng taps his own mask in thought.] Maybe we could pretend we're fucked up. Lure them out.
["Why would you want to do that?" the second disciple asks, incredulous. "I don't think you realize how crazy these zealots are. They've had centuries to master their blood magic. You two have had, what...a year?"
Unseen behind his mask, Vyng awkwardly averts his gaze.]
no subject
[He looks to the disciples and blinks. Isn't it obvious why they want to find the zealots.]
They've got our friend! We gotta get him back! Besides, I've been here for, like, a couple weeks. It's fine.
no subject
With far more confidence than the situation deserves, Vyng pipes up:]
And I've been here for a few months. Besides...what else are we gonna do, huh? Sit on our ass while these zealots hurt Tuck?
[Dale presses two gloved hands together and stares at the two. After a couple beats of silence, he answers "...yes. That's exactly it."]
no subject
We can't leave him! He asked for help.
[He points at the second Disciple.]
You guys are friends, right? Would you leave, uh - uh...
['Darrel,' he supplies.]
Yeah! Would you leave Darrel with those guys?
[Darrel looks over at Dale, suddenly curious. 'Yeah, man, would you?']
no subject
Vyng, meanwhile, perks up at that admission.]
So...you'd get some Sleepers to go rescue him, right?
[A sigh. "Yeah, I...guess so."]
no subject
[Billie fixes the pair of disciples with a determined look. They are not going to stop him nor Vyng from helping Tuck, no matter how hard they try to talk them out of it.
Darrel shrugs. "Not that it's going to happen to either of us anyway, we're extra careful, with the masks and everything."]
no subject
[Dale finally shoves Vyng off of him. "We're done here, then?" Vyng, meanwhile, simply starts brushing his wool shawl off.]
Wanna be our bait?
["Hell no!" Dale snaps. "If you wanna be an idiot, fine. But keep me out of it, Vyng. You already cause enough trouble at the Sanctuary."]
no subject
Billie scowls at them both.]
You guys are losers!
no subject
["You know what? He's absolutely right," Dale affirms as he gazes down at Billie from behind his mask. "So, please. Just...leave us out of this. Go." His looks up at Vyng again. "Both of you."]
Weren't you two already going somewhere? Why are we the ones who need to move?
[Dale gives an annoyed huff. And motions for Darrel to come along, so they can get back to Cassandra already.]
no subject
[Darrel rolls his eyes, and pauses briefly. "I hope you two don't get yourselves killed," he says before scuttling off after Dale.]
no subject
[Which maybe isn't that reassuring. But it's all Vyng's got for him today. In any case, he and Billie are back at square one: Alone, in the market, without any actual zealots to tail. Humming in thought, Vyng idly scratches the bottom of his gas mask.]
Luring them out wouldn't be a bad idea, though...
no subject
[He looks around, trying to spot someone else who might be a zealot.]
They gotta be around here somewhere, right?
