( Peter blinks, looking up again at the older boy. He's... maybe heard of that? (Of course, some part of him thinks; Kyle was a really knowledgeable source of information on historical religious business once before.) And while before, Peter was fostering a quiet curiosity on it.... now he's wondering if maybe what Kyle knows could help him. Any of it, any of that knowledge of where things come from and how it got twisted or shifted throughout history — it could be worth learning about. He... should try to learn about all of this, scary as it may be.

Peter wants to convey this but he doesn't know how in the moment, he's still... stunned and strange and trembling, but then there's a hug — a quick little thing, and a comfort when he needs it the most, and the younger boy's mouth opens slightly, releasing a soft little exhale.

"We", Kyle says, a reminder that Peter's not dealing with this alone. It floors him a little, and touches him, and he's blinking back against a fresh gloss of tears. Peter's just sitting there, swallowing a few times, trying to gather himself. )

Thanks. I uh— I don't know what the fuck I'm doing, so— maybe what you know could... it could help. And the library— I only went there once but it was really big and weird and I didn't know where to start—

( He's the one rambling now, the words spilling out of him against the tightness in his throat. It's all been overwhelming, and then this fucking ant shit.... )

[Kyle is completely oblivious to what Peter might be thinking - he's entirely focused on making sure that the younger boy is okay in the moment. He's an older brother himself, so he gives comfort without hesitation.]

Oh, dude, sure. I've been finding my way around okay, I'd be more than happy to help. Tell you what, I'll keep an eye out, okay? I think some of it may be tangentially related to some other stuff I've been looking into anyway.
