[His brows draw together a bit over how long she says it's been since she's seen them all. It's sad to think about, not just for her, but potentially for himself.]

I'm sorry, that's… a long time. [He rubs at his neck, considering maybe hedging into a lighter topic and one he's kinda curious about.] Hey, it's been a while since I read the books, but when was the last time you saw Neville?

[He raises his eyebrows in a not so subtle way. Eh? Eh?]

Mm, it is quite a bit. [ Maybe they'll end up here in Trench one day, who knows? She might have chosen to never go back, but it doesn't mean that it's not impossible that she'll ever see them again. ]

Neville? [ She blinks at that, then pauses to think it over. ] Well, perhaps a bit longer than that, actually. Several months more than the others, back at Hogwarts.

[ Before the.... kidnapping by Dark Wizards. ]

I was meant to be seeing quite him soon, though. He'd called us back to Hogwarts, with the coins? The ones from the DA Meetings? [ There's a little smile, quite impressed. ] He'd very cleverly been able to use Hermione's charm so we could use them again.

[So, he was never into the whole shipping thing when he was into Harry Potter, so his interest is mostly casual curiosity. When he read the books, romance wasn't his focus, but even he could look at the different relationships and admit that some of the kids at his school had a point about how 'cute' some of them would be.

So when Luna starts complimenting Neville, he can't help but grin a little. It's not exactly a confirmation of anything except that she thinks highly of him, so he's not gonna jump to conclusions. But he is gonna try and fish some more.]

Sooo, you like him a lot, huh. Like, you'd say you two are… close? [As he says that, he weaves his fingers together in front of himself to enhance his meaning.]

[ Oh, she's known this song and dance before. Liking someone a lot, being close to someone. She's been asked those questions before, her eyebrows raising in curiosity. He's asking her if she likes Neville in that way. It... honestly reminds her of Louis in a way. She misses Louis. But she knows what you're up to, Stiles. No need to fish. ]

Oh, you mean... if I like him as more than a friend—? [ There's a long pause as she considers it, her brow pinching for a long time in thought. Does she likes Neville in that way—? She's not sure. Certainly there's much to him that's very likeable, she just doesn't think Neville would see her that way. Would she turn him down if he did ask her out? ... No, she doesn't think she would. ]

I mean, he's a very close friend. [ It's difficult, though. So much time has passed, really. Not to mention the other fact: ] But I don't really know, now. The thing is, I do actually have a boyfriend.

[He respectfully gives her time to consider that, and if he subtly leans a bit closer in as he anticipates her answer, he'll deny it. He really doesn't care that much, pshhh.

But when she does answer, it's certainly a surprise, and his brows go up. Well, he supposes that makes sense considering how long she's been here without all of her friends from home. So he takes that information in with a little 'huh' and a tilt of his head.]

Well okay, then. Who's the lucky guy —or girl?— who gets to date a literal cultural icon?

[Hey, she may be a more minor character, but the Harry Potter series is so big, he considers that fair to say. It blows his mind to think he could just end up in another reality with a character he knows from a story that got that huge and defined a whole generation the way Star Wars has, and end up dating them.]

Oh, I don't know about that— [ There's a faint hum of amusement at that. Her? A cultural icon? That sounds... like a very big thing. And well, she's just Luna isn't she? Considering these books are meant to mostly be about Harry aren't they?

But enough about that, Peter is always a welcome topic for her and she's more than happy to gush a little about her boyfriend — her cheeks flushing pink a little. She's... very smitten about the boy. ]

It's a boy. [ But it possibly being a girl is very valid, she thinks. ] He's called Peter Graham? He's wonderful. Very kind and thoughtful, a little nervous at first but he's really nice when you get to know him. If you've maybe seen him he's taller than you are, dark curly hair. Although he has been invisible a bit this month, so—

[ Might not have seen him, really. ]

[He gives her a look.] Oh believe me, it's true.

[And he'd go on to explain more about why she's a cultural icon except she's going right into talking about this guy she's found here in this weird world. It takes him a second of taking that in, but the realization dawns pretty slow and kind of comical.]

Wait, that guy? Yeah, I met him. Nearly took his head off with my bat. Though, not a bad guy once we got talking, just kind of... weird. [His brows go up and he frowns in a 'huh' kind of way as he says that.] Which, I guess makes him perfect for you.

[ She would imagine it likely to be her friends rather than her. Well, if it had to be someone, after all. She didn't even meet Harry until her fourth year.

Luna's eyebrows raise in pleasant surprise at the fact he actually knows who she's talking about. Ah, he's met Peter! How wonderful! Until the.... mention of a 'bat', her brows furrowing again. Oh, dear. ]

He's not weird, he's just himself, is all. [ There's no anger in it, just a simple statement. He might have... demonic possession going on, but Peter isn't weird. ] I suppose the fact he comes from a relatively mundane world, makes it harder to come to grips with this place. But he's lovely.

[For a moment, he's a little lost on why she's protesting what is obvious. But then he remembers she's kind of made fun of for being "loony" and he makes a silent "oohhh", then shakes his head.]

Weird isn't bad- [Wait…] …I mean, it can be if we're talking the kind of weirdo mouth breathers my friend Lydia has to brush off every day, but Pete's not that.

[ There we go. Well done, Stiles. ]

I believe the word you're looking for with that one is 'creepy'. [ She offers helpfully. To these... 'mouth breathers' he's referring to. And... oddly, Peter does have his... creepy moments. ]

But— yes, he's really nice. And I find myself very fortunate to have someone who loves me romantically, so I'm very happy.
