I mean you're quite right about that, on both points. [ She smiles a little, shrugging. ] I think I like 'tool' better, it does lots of other useful things than just... casting damage.

[ Which yes, it can absolutely do. But it's certainly very multifunctional. ]

I can do that. I... actually make my own jewellery. [ She raises her one of her wrists to show a bracelet made with leather and green beads. Peter has one that's very similar in blue. This isn't magical, it's more of a symbolic gesture between the two of them. They wear each other's favourite colours. But it's an example of what she makes, if this was something she was looking to acquire in the trade. ]

Maybe I could make something and then charm it, having something to wear that's charmed with protective magic would probably be the easier way to do it rather than charming a small item someone would carry. Would that work?

It's a pity that some people only think of it as a dangerous thing — something used to harm and damage.

She glances at the jewelry smiles appreciatively. From here, she can see that it is well-crafted and made with care. The girl puts effort into her craft, just as Lucille does when she creates things or fixes them.]

Yes, I should like that if it isn't too much trouble, of course. A wearable item, like a bracelet, seems so much more practical.

I suspect it's people being afraid of magic, but then they don't really understand it. But it's really not all that scary. Not really.

[ She brightens at Lucille's reaction and then nods. ]

Not too much trouble at all. [ And honestly, it's really just nice to make things for people. She genuinely enjoys doing that, even if this is technically a kind of business transaction. ] A bracelet it is, then. If there's someone in mind you'd like to give it to, I could perhaps use colours they like when making it.

A lack of understanding can cause people to fear things even more.

[It's something she's observed over time, reflected in other people and reflected in herself. Luckily for Lucille, she's befriended magic users over time, and as a result, she's grown more comfortable around it. Magic is no longer something found only in stories.

She glances at the bracelet again, feeling confident that this is the right move to make. Anything to help keep her boy safe...]

Well, he's an artist, so... [She pauses for a second to think. An artist would surely have more than one favourite colour.] Perhaps it could be made up of a number of colours. Like a rainbow bracelet.

Quite true. It's why witches and wizards went into hiding in my world. [ There's a inhale and she shrugs slightly. ] Muggles started trying to capture them, and then they'd start burning them or drowning them or all sorts.

[ But the problem with that is while sometimes they did kill witches and wizards, more often than not Muggles would be killing other Muggles. Witches and wizards could simply jinx the flames so they wouldn't burn, or cast a charm to allow them to breathe underwater. It was better for everyone to simply hide.

It's a... relatively dark topic of conversation, but there it is. Luna smiles before continuing on about the bracelet. ]

Oh, how lovely—! [ She likes other artists, especially. ] I can absolutely do that for you, it'll look so pretty for him—!

[ This is nice! She likes this. ]

Then we have a deal. [ She holds out her hand for her to shake on it. ]

[Lucille appears solemn for a moment, silently recalling some of the things she'd read in history books back home about witch trials. It is fascinating to her how some historical events seem to occur on other worlds that are not her own, and how they're often similar save for a few minor details. She nods, but opts not to talk about such a dark topic with someone she barely knows. She doesn't wish to upset or offend the girl.]

We do. Thank you so very much. [She extends her arm and shakes Luna's hand gently, her features brightening. She's pleased with this outcome.]
