( stefan groans but he does lean forward and starts pressing easy, chaste kisses against her neck. he doesn't try and bite or lick. he just gives her quick pecks. )

[ keeping her head bowed, she smiles and closes her eyes. she likes his attentions firmly on her. doesn't matter what they are or how he gives them to her, she likes them very, very, very much. ]

( oh, he'd known. )

( he presses another longer kiss to her neck. )

[ she chuckles low in her throat, sighing contentedly. while she can have him kiss the back of her neck all day long, katherine does turn around. he has earned it, after all.

she gives him the side of her neck. tilting her head to the side, she stretches her neck and elongates it for him. lifting her hand, she touches her fingers to where her neck and shoulder meet. ]

( he doesn't wait for her to say it though, leaning in closer and pressing the flat of his tongue against the indicated spot.

and then he eases back and looks up at her to see if she's going to give him another order or just wait for him to keep going. )

[ she shivers, her breathing growing a touch shallow. it's too quick; it's over before she can enjoy it.

[ that's the magic word—his name, her asking for more. katherine thinks that's enough. it should be. stefan has been so simple to please—all he ever wants is her to stay, demand things from him. ]

( good thing stefan hasn't pulled away from her and can easily lean in closer to her and kiss her neck. this time, it's just a peck, barely a brush of his lips. )

( please? he would like to. )

[ chuckling low in her throat, she thinks to deny him. but katherine has always had a very bad track record in denying stefan salvatore. talk about a big and handsome achilles heel. ]

[ she turns to face him, lifting her hand to stop him if he thinks he can simply dive towards her for a smooch.

tilting her head up, she states playfully, ] But make it good. You only get one kiss.

( what's that about? that doesn't seem very fair. he gets all kinds of kisses on any other day but one kiss tonight? no no, he doesn't like that at all. )

[ she smiles at him. he needs to earn his good kisses, doesn't he? katherine already knows he'll get one hundred more and then some.

glancing above their heads, she nods towards the sprig. ]

( stefan crosses his arms, not about to just let her have this. )

[ she wants one that will make her toes, which have remain uncurled for five hundred years (ignoring some of the moments over the last one and 1864), curl. that's the sign of a the best kiss imaginable.

she holds out her pinky. ]

I don't know, I think I might be a little hurt that not all my kisses make your toes curl.

( he frowns at her. )

[ she shakes her head, finding him to be not only adorable, but an adorable nuisance. peering down, she takes a look at his feet. toes currently uncurled, as expected.

resting her hand against his chest, she slowly glides it down. ]

( stefan knows what she's expecting him to do and he's bound and determined to do something different. so, he snags her hand off his chest and turns it so he can kiss the top of it very gently. )

( maybe it wouldn't be a toe curling kiss but he thinks it will get some kind of reaction from her. )

[ she rolls her eyes and smiles. incorrigible, that's what he is. absolutely and utterly incorrigible. he's very lucky he's so handsome and funny and broody, or else she'd tear him apart for ruining her mistletoe scheme. ]

[ she curls her toes on purpose as she mock gasps. ]

( he'd wondered if she'd let him get away with that or if she'd call him on it. but, he smiles when she says her toes curl and laughs. )

( of course he would, of course. he holds out of his hand to her, arching an eyebrow. )

[ with a happy noise, she places her hand daintily in his and wiggles her fingers. it's almost as if she's showing off her lapis lazuli bracelet. ]

[ she doesn't try to suppress her smile. she likes it when he dotes on her and gives into her silly things.

he's the only one she wants to be silly with. ]

( yes, yes he has. he's definitely been other than gentle with her but overall, he thinks he's gentle.

he takes her hand in his and then brushes his lips against here each and every knuckle before moving onto the tips of her fingers. )

[ katherine smiles happily at that. it's not a bad thing, the moments where he's ungentle.

she doesn't look away from him, watching him tend to her fingers in the only way he's ever tended to her—gently. ]

Oh. [ she pouts, furrowing her brows. ] I think I know somewhere else you can kiss.
