OPEN: SNOWBALL FIGHT!!
Midoriya, snow caked in his hair, peels himself away from the fray and plods over in his snow boots towards anyone who looks like they'd be up for it.
"Want to join us?"
Or perhaps you're already there, preparing to catch this nerd in the back of the head with a snowball. Sometimes being your best self means being wicked confident at snowball fights. Some things, however, shouldn't be tried at home.
ooc: Can treat this prompt as a mingle if you'd like. Just indicate whether you're open to all (OTA) other characters tagging in.

"Hey! Think fast!" And she throws her snowball at her current target- Except that's not all she leaps off snow man to tackle them to the ground too.
Sorry. Ruby takes these very seriously.

And then she got beaned on the back of the head with a snowball, and oh, it was on.
As Ruby leaps through the air to give Sayo a friendly tackle, she bites down on her tongue hard enough to draw blood—a task that's made easier by her snaggletooth. When she swallows the fine mist of darkblood, time... stops.
Sayo steps back from her physical body, tapping her chin as she examines her surroundings. Languidly, she walks forward, retrieves a tape measure from out of nowhere, and measures the exact distance between Ruby and the ground. She nods, experimentally scuffs the snow drift with her foot, then sits down in a convenient tea chair before an odd-looking chess set, making a few adjustments to the pieces.
Then, she snaps her fingers, and time continues flowing again as she watches her physical body spring into action.
Sayo turns on a dime
and sweeps her foot through the snow, creating a small cloud of snow to obscure her location for a few precious seconds before Ruby touches downand thrusts her hands toward Ruby, summoning a shimmering crimson barrier that doesn't entirely stop her midair charge, but slows it enough for her to scramble away and out of her sight. When her opponent finally hits the ground, Sayo is gone... and behind Ruby, havingshoulder-rolled through the snowdesperately tripped over herself to get out of the way, snatched the head of the snowman, and poised herself to dunk it directly onto Ruby's skull.Meanwhile, still observing, Sayo sips a cup of tea and smiles faintly. "Your move, Ruby," she says, even though Ruby can't actually hear her from where she is.

She lands on the ground and looks up with no sign of Shannon in sight. But she hears the crunch of snow behind her and there's a brief moment where Ruby just becomes a flurry of snow and ice in the vague shape of rose petals and bursts forward in a blast of speed before reforming into herself in a haphazard roll on the ground. She recovers and quickly turns to face Shannon as the snowman hits the ground where she was just a moment ago.

Ruby's obviously extremely fast, and that may not be the full extent of her capabilities. However, if she's careful about this, she should still be able to surprise her.
More pieces move, and the time advances as the game continues apace. As Ruby recovers, she'll find that Sayo has vanished yet again... but a snowball comes from behind a pile of heaped snow, followed shortly thereafter by another snowball a little distance away from the first.
But if Ruby dodges in any way to avoid them, she'll find that the second snowball was a slightly delayed curveball, and Sayo never moved at all, giving her more time to perfectly aim her third snowball and take Ruby by surprise by firing from a location Ruby thought she'd already moved from!

She didn't really have time to consider her options because Shannon was gone and there was a snowball flying her way. She dodges the first without a problem, and she even manages to catch the curve in the second ones trajectory and manages to twist herself enough to just barely avoid it.
Unfortunately between being pushed into that sort of position and the new snowball coming from a different angle she isn't let with a lot of options on getting away from this one. It catches her so off guard she doesn't think to use her powers to stop or block it and it hits her in the face and sends her stumbling back onto her butt.
"W-Woah!"

It's easy to fake a superspeed disappearance when there are this many snow forts and snow men around. While Kanon had the most talent for swiftness out of Kinzo's furniture, Shannon was no slouch when pressed either—the two were made for combat, after all.A rustling comes from behind a nearby snow wall, and Shannon's face pops up from behind it,
twisted into a smirk. "KYAAAHAHAHAHA! CHECKMATE, RUUUUUUUBYYY ROSEEEEEEEEEE! HOW DOES DEFEAT TASTE! YOU SHOULD KNOW BETTER THAN TO CROSS THE-""Wait, no, that isn't right," Sayo mutters from her seat at the gameboard, shaking her head and scribbling out her lines. "Even Ruby isn't that oblivious."
Shannon peeks at Ruby, expression somewhere between sympathetic and guilty. "A- Are you alright, Ruby-san?" she calls as she vaults the wall with one hand (and Sayo returns to her body), offering it to Ruby to help her up when she arrives.

"Oh yeah- I'm good. You've got some good moves there. How do you feel like going another round?"
no subject
"Also, it is very impolite to hurl snowballs at passerby, Miss Rose! You should know better at your age!" And of course a lot of the absolute ruthlessness toward Ruby came from legitimate irritation.
no subject
"Aw, you're no fun." Her tone is light and teasing. She was a fight junky but she didn't expect other people to follow suit with that love. It was her job to protect people like that.
"Yeah- Well it's not often some gets the drop on me like that. So whatever you did it was a bit more than just luck, even if it did contribute to it." She moves to rub at the back of her head at the next bit.
"Ppffftt okay- well yeah. when you put it that way it makes me sound awful! But this was a battlefield! sometimes it's hard to tell friend from foe from bystander, you know?"
There's a pause before she adds in.
"But yeah. Sorry about that."

"He's still a bystan--"
Splat. A snowball to his entire face.

"Who are we up against?"
no subject
"It's a brawl, there are no teams. But... if you want to teach them all a lesson for hitting someone not in the fight... I'll help."
A smile spreads on his face as he closes his hand in a fist. The power of friendship against impossible odds? Bring it on.

From the corner of his mouth, his lips quirk up. "I don't see a problem with that." He starts pulling at the cuff of his uniform, exposing his forearms for the attack to come. "Quirks or no quirks?"
no subject
He knew he could count on Todoroki.
"This way," he says in a low voice, crouching and moving around the battle zone behind cover.
"There are three evenly spaced on our left near that tree, and two behind that retaining wall. I want to flank them. See there, you can tell where they are by following the line of fire. Of course we could just wait for them to finish each other off, but I think a proactive approach will be better, since we can overwhelm them in the chaos, and take advantage of others distracting them in case we need to retreat. Staying together is best, since we can alternate throwing snowballs and making them..."
Midoriya, please don't... analyze the snowball fight...
no subject
In the end, he only has one question. "Which one of us should start with throwing them and making them?" Sadly, he has no experience with either.
no subject
Midoriya, Hero Course student and resident tryhard, is making this snowball fight more intense and action-packed than it needs to be. But it's fine, because he knows Todoroki is with him 100%. They've got this. He's already scooping up snow and packing it in his gloved hands, calling up childhood memories to help him remember what it was like to play with others in the snow. Since he didn't have friends in middle school, it's been a while.
"So when's the last time you've had a snowball fight, Todoroki-kun?"
no subject
"Alright." He settles down in the snow, wearing little more than jeans and a light sweater, plus a scarf. His ability to regulate his body temperature makes anything more unnecessary.
He doesn't think much on the fact that he's never really made a snowball. He knows what they look like, has seen a few people play on his way to and from his activities at school, but he's never actually participated. For one, his powers - as Midoriya wisely pointed out - would be overkill. No one wanted to play against someone they'd knew they'd lose again and besides, back then, Shouto wasn't the type to 'hang out' or 'play' with his classmates. Things are different now. No longer isolated, he's quick to try out new things with his friends including reading manga with Sero and Kaminari. In comparison, this seems a lot more interesting.
"I haven't."
He gathers up the snow with his bare hands - because who wears gloves? - while he answers and starts to pack the snow together. With his hands emitting enough heat to melt the snow in place, he's able to quickly churn out his very first snowball and gets to work on the next.
"This is my first time."

OTA
So excuse him while he's embarrassing himself. Oz can't even pack snow into a solid snowball. All of his attempts to join in just crumble into harmless snow flurries. Despite it, he can't help but laugh at his attempts.]
I'm not very good at this, am I?
no subject
"It's hard at first. You actually have to be gentle, like holding a bird. Then pack more on..."
He throws up an arm to block an oncoming snowball from one direction, only to get clocked in the side of the head with another. He laughs as he brushes the snow off his ear. He's happy to watch Oz's back while he perfects his technique.
no subject
So rather than be concerned, Oz laughs. "You make it look easy! Is this something kids really do?"
He'd almost thought games like this were a fantasy.
no subject
He makes a sound, something like uwarggghh as he's barraged by another wave, but he doesn't falter. He understands being jumpy, though. He was that kid in junior high, when his interactions were either getting picked on or laughed at. Flinching on reflex was a hard habit to unlearn.
"Most kids where I come from, yeah. We get snow in the winter. Here, let's take cover behind this bench..." Midoriya attempts to crouch and shuffle while half of him is still caked in snow. He's a weird, curly-haired snowman. "Do you not have snow where you come from?"
no subject
"Oh yes, we've plenty of snow in the winter. I've seen children throw snowballs in passing, but never for long." Because he would be mid-transit in a carriage. When Oz did leave the mansion, it was for carefully managed trips. And he never got to play along with the other kids.
He ducks into hiding with Midoriya and makes another pass at packing a snowball. There's a smile creeping back onto his face. "This is so normal. I've never done something this normal..!"
Ah. That feeling... He's excited, isn't he?
no subject
It's a fairly normal activity, but for Midoriya, he's experiencing it only after years. This person, apparently, has even less familiarity with it. Midoriya brushes crumbling layers of snow off himself. He gestures with his hands again, trying to mime instructions to Oz of how he should be forming the snowball.
"I'm Midoriya. What's your name?"
