[ she thinks about proposing it be straight juice, especially since he's insisted he can drink anything… but wanda wants to get a little tipsy. she has a feeling if she insists on juice without any alcohol, they'll risk going down a very sober path.

and she doesn't want that. ]

Juice with rum. [ she turns to him, brow cocked. innocently, ] Unless you think you can't handle that?

( amos blows out a breath and rolls his eyes. that's what he thinks about that. )

I can handle it.

( he'd just drink the rum without the juice if you let him but he recognizes that wanda might be a novice drinker. )

Orange juice?

[ she scrunches up her face. ] I don't like apple.

[ orange it is, even if she barely likes that. it'd fit her perfect suburbian life to drink orange juice for breakfast.

lifting her hand, she very gently flexes her fingers and tugs the bartender over towards them. his mind is a strange one, part creature, a little human, but it's easy to control him gently and order a rum and orange juice. ]

You know, you could have just called the guy over here.

( instead of pulling him over with her powers. he doesn't hate what she'd done but it makes him laugh. most bartenders would come and get you drinks if they get paid. )

You ever had rum and juice before or this about to be a new experience for you?

[ she shrugs, feeling slightly sheepish. but her confidence brims loudly and proudly, and wanda doesn't feel as bad as she would've on any other given day.

she drums her fingers against the countertop. ] I've never had it before. [ she sits up straight before she regards him with her brows slightly lifted. ] It's been either beer or tequila. The Avengers drank all the rum and juice before I got to the bar.

Tequila?

( that's some pretty strong stuff. he has no reason to disbelieve her but still. not really the type of alcohol for a lightweight. )

Wouldn't have guessed that.

I had a few sips from time to time.

[ she shrugs innocently. she definitely got tipsy on those few sips. then vision would usually pull her away for a conversation as he was never the type to drink. wanda always allowed him to. she drank for the sole purpose of having something to do.

when the bartender comes back with their drinks, she cups her glass and holds it close to her face, sniffing it. she wrinkles her nose. ]

Don't like it?

( amos picks his up, doesn't sniff and then tosses it back to down half of it before he looks over at her again. )

Not gonna hold it against you if you don't wanna drink it.

I can drink it!

[ she laughs, shaking her head incredulously. is she nervous? no! of course not. she's just... you know... biding her time. ]

I am going to drink it. [ she looks at him pointedly before peering down at her glass. what if she doesn't like it? can she change it to something she likes? no, that'd be cheating...

mimicking him, she tosses it back and downs all of it, tearing her glass away from her with a wince. ]

Very impressive.

( amos does his very best not to laugh though he wants to because he knows that had to burn going down if she's acting like that. )

Was it good?

[ she nods while she winces, clearing her throat as softly as she can. it was good... so good she'd have another, but she doesn't want to drink earworm out of juice and rum. (she's a good one, that wanda maximoff.) ]

[ she clears her throat again and places her glass gently onto the countertop. ]

So good. Went down like water.

You're a shitty liar at least about this.

( amos is used to drinking and even he doesn't think it goes down like water. it's not strong but it has a kick. )

We can switch to water, if you like.

[ she appears aghast at such an idea. she looks at him and frowns, shaking her head. ]

We came here to drink and we will. [ she hits her fist gently against the countertop as she surveys the shelves of liquor. ] Pick a drink.

You're asking me to pick a drink?

( amos laughs and looks up at the menu. )

Kinda dangerous to give me that power.

[ she shrugs, setting her shoulders back. this is her superhero pose, even though wanda knows she's doing it wrong and she's hardly a superhero herself. ]

I'm not afraid.

[ she smiles at him and arches her brow. ]

Least of all of a big puppy dog.

consider her gauntlet thrown. ]

( it's both amusing and confusing. there's no way she could be tipsy already unless she'd pregamed before she saw him.

he doesn't ask though, turning to the bartender and ordering a bottle of bourbon. )

We'll just drink this straight, okay? See how you can handle it.

And if I handle it well?

[ because she will. she's the scarlet witch, the harbinger of chaos, confusion, and a bar's liquor cabinet's mass destruction. wanda sits beside him very much cocky and not at all like the reserved woman she often is.

she waves her hand. ]

What do you wager at these things?

[ all the avengers ever did was bet who could lift thor's hammer. ]

Why do you want to bet so badly?

( could they not just drink and get drink and have a good time? )

If you handle it well, what do you want?

( he arches an eyebrow at her as he uncaps the bottle. )

[ wanda makes a show of eyeing him for a long moment. what would make him do a double-take and possibly surprise him? drinking won't. having him admit that she can outdrink him most certainly won't. she needs something that he can't simpy disprove as more drinks are poured. ]

A kiss.

[ she taps her finger against her cheek a few times. ]

Right here.

You want me to kiss you on the cheek?

( his eyebrows stays arched and he looks at her to try and figure out if she's serious. he doesn't pick up on any deception there so he laughs nd then shrugs. )

Fine. If you don't fall off your stool, I'll give your a kiss on the cheek.

It better be a good one.

[ she does say it haughtily. she clears her throat, arches her brows, and taps her nails against the top of the bar as the bartender returns with the bourbon.

wanda knows she can cheat. it'd be easy to make this bourbon taste like water... and she's half-tempted to do that to see if amos really will follow through on it... but that can wait for later.

she smiles sweetly at him and gestures with a wave of her hand. ]

Losing gentlemen first.

Fine.

( amos rolls his eyes and then just drinks straight from the bottle, tipping the bourbon back and taking several swallows before he puts it down on the bar.

he swallows and nods approvingly. )

All right, come on. You made this bet, show me what you've got.

[ eyeing the bottle that he so rudely drank from, wanda considers using a glass. she reaches for the bottle, feeling the condensation on the glass cool her fingers.

she smiles at him before she's throwing back her head and that bottle and drinking just a small but noticeable fraction of the liquor. when she pulls back. she scrunches up her face, but wanda clears her throat and gently places that bottle back down. ]

That was not bad.

[ ignore the slight squeak to her voice. ]

Yeah, you look like you really enjoyed that.

( amos rolls his eyes because he can hear your voice, wanda and he can see just how much you had to drink. )

You know you don't win if you don't drink enough to really feel it, right?

[ regarding him with a put-upon exasperated look, wanda rolls her eyes, magicks that bottle into her awaiting palm (she's allowed her own theatrics), and takes a deeper swig. this time, she's ready for it. although she does squint her eyes, she's a quick learner and adapts to its taste.

when a good quarter of it's gone, she places that bottle delicately on the bar like it's a tea cup and smiles at him. ]

I feel very fine.

[ and tipsy. ]
