( it hadn't been too difficult for him to agree to a bath. between being human for a few days a few weeks back and whatever strange feeling's fallen over him today, a bath sounded like a very normal, very them thing to do.

he'd been downstairs, oddly thinking about shoes, while she'd been upstairs with the bath. aleksander had needed food so he'd filled his dish and even played with him for a bit until katherine had called him.

aleksander barks at him and stefan laughs, getting to his feet so he can go upstairs. )

Coming, dear.

( he's still thinking about shoes though and that's...weird. he doesn't even care about shoes. )

[ she does care about shoes. why would she even think such a thing? shoes are great. she wants some new shoes, but she has a feeling after stefan's trip down human lane, going to the shoe store may make him feel panicked. something about a building falling on her? hm.

she doesn't turn the taps off just yet. she wants the bath to be a little higher and by the time he zips (or waddles) up the stairs, it should be almost ready.

she yells, ]

You walk like an old man!

[ a very sexy old man. ]

I can walk slower, Katherine.

( and that's exactly what he starts to do, trudging up the stairs and then down the hall. )

Call me old again and that water's going to be cold by the time I get there.

And I'll be drying off by the time you arrive.

[ two can play at that game. surely, he likes the look of her naked and wet much more than her towelling off and being dry? katherine hopes this evening isn't the time he wishes to test that. ]

Chop, chop! [ she claps her hands. ]

( he finally shows up in the door, leaning against the frame and crossing his arms while he smiles at her. )

I'm here and you're not even naked. I feel like I've rushed all the way up here for no reason.

[ she rolls her eyes and turns off the taps, the bathroom coming into pure silence. turning to face him, she keeps her arms hanging by her sides. she slowly widens her smile as she gives him a very suggestive once-over. ]

I thought I'd give you the luxury of taking my clothes off of me.

[ that sounds like more fun, no? ]

Oh, of course. Always doing me favors.

( stefan steps forward and shuts the door because he doesn't want aleksander to come bounding into the bathroom and splash into the tub with them. )

It smells nice in here. Did you put something in the water?

I did.

[ she twists slightly on the spot, smiling at him. she watches him, her gaze lingering on the closed door behind them. ]

Remember the ship and all those bath salts I've been tricking you into using? Well... [ she gestures with a flourish of her hand towards the bath. here are those bath salts that they seem to enjoy so much, warming their bath tub. ] I thought we should use them again.

You still have some of those?

( that ship had been...years ago and they'd taken a lot of baths since then. she has to have been rationing it and only using it on certain days. )

What made you want to use that today? Anything happen?

( or just wanted to have a relaxing night after everything? )

[ maybe he's expecting some incredible explanation, but katherine has only one sole reason: ]

I was horny.

[ she purses her lips and shrugs like it's that easy—and it is. she'd decided she wanted to have a dual bath when she was horny, and so she made it happen. ]

And I wanted to relax. But mostly I was horny and wanted to see you naked and wet.

( laughing, stefan steps forward and slides his hand underneath her shirt, palming her hip and scratching at her skin. )

I thought you woke up horny.

( he smirks at her. )

I wake up next to you, Stefan.

[ that's her answer and that's the truth. she's the happiest she's ever been with a side dish of horny.

she doesn't step away from him. katherine exhales quietly, relaxing at the mere gentle press of his fingers against her hip. ]

( laughing, stefan reaches for the bottom of her shirt and starts to tug it upward. hadn't she been the one to suggest this. he pulls it up and over her head, tossing it aside. )

Or are you trying to make me blush?

[ she doesn't stop him from undressing her. she smiles, resting her arms back against her sides as she stands before him in her jeans and her bra. thankfully, her feet are bared. he won't be forced to remove her heels tonight. ]

Are you blushing?

[ she narrows her eyes thoughtfully and leans a little closer, studying his face. he has such a handsome face. ]

No.

( he makes a face when she looks at him that closely and then shakes his head. )

No, I'm not blushing. You haven't said anything to make me blush and no, that's not an invitation.

I'm half-naked and you're not blushing.

[ she tsks beneath her breath. of course, she doesn't think he's suddenly turned off by her. stefan not blushing is a stefan who, at least, is gearing up to blush until he combusts.

katherine pinches his cheeks lightly to bring forth a delightful pink tinge. ]

There. Perfectly rosy.

[ she gives the tip of his nose a little tweak, too. ]

I've seen you half naked before, it takes more than that to make me blush.

( he makes a face when she pinches his cheeks and then rolls his eyes. )

Really?

Yes, really. I used to pinch my cheeks all the time before I saw you.

[ it's a little confession she knows reveals a very old hand of hers. she had liked stefan and she had wanted to appear attractive to him... and she thinks she was.

she smiles at him and tilts her head to the side. ]

You didn't notice?

What?

( that both surprises him and makes him laugh. no, he had not noticed that but he wonders if that's true or if she's just teasing him. )

Did you really?

Yes.

[ she laughs, embarrassed. despite noticing so much about her, stefan's missed so many things. he's never had to make his cheeks nice and rosy to try and lure in a man. he's always been the baited fish.

she smiles and lifts up her shoulder, downplaying her embarrassment. ]

It's how you wooed a man. My womanly wiles.

You don't think you could have wooed a man without the rosy red cheeks?

( stefan's pretty sure he wouldn't have cared about her cheeks with everything else. )

I don't know if you needed those. You have everything else.

No.

[ and that's the difference between him and her. she needed the rosy cheeks to appear like the men in her presence affected her. stefan did not. even though his cheeks were perfectly rosy whenever he was in her presence.

she pokes his shoulder. ]

I have everything else?

[ fishy fishy. ]

You're fishing for compliments.

( tut tut, katherine. )

You know you have everything else.

But what does that entail, exactly?

[ katherine feigns an innocent look, furrowing her brows tightly together and biting on her bottom lip. there are so many things that could mean. she has every shoe in the trench. every jacket...

speaking of: ]

Are you talking about shoes?

Oh my god, you have more shoes than you know what to do with.

( they were going to have to get a new house to store her shoes. )

I don't understand how you can have so many damn shoes.
