She'd only talked to a few people so far, really, but more often than not she's found people that have migrated from the 'Deerington' place to here. She's almost envious that they've had a longer time to adjust to all of this, though she's not sure she'd be capable of staying in any one place for that length of time.
In an effort to keep him talking, because at least that way she could keep a closer eye on him, Sabé gestured vaguely to the ears and tail.
"Those... I'm assuming they're effects from the influences of this place?"

One of Maul's ears, the left one, flicked downwards and his hand came up to touch it in an unconscious fashion. The furry piece of cartilage was run through his fingers. "Yes. I had a piece of chocolate and they immediately began to change form. I assume it will be temporary. Most things here are."
There was the odd thing that lingered, like the fact one of Maul's tattoos on his lower left arm was silvery-white rather than black like all the rest because he'd had an encounter with a witch which left a lasting effect. But that was unusual. Except for limb loss, most of what happened to people eventually had an ending, even if it was a rather rough one.

Sabé did not care for the idea that a simple piece of chocolate could change so much- and perhaps even account for her own current condition. It's as though the glow around her and the scent of those flowers did nothing but remind her of why it was blue in the first place. The only thing keeping her anchored right now was the man in front of her... and that was only because she was wary of him.
"I also had one of the chocolates... the strawberry flavor."
That much was obvious, but at least it would provide an answer for what was happening with her condition. It wasn't as physical as taking on animal features, but it was still something near impossible to ignore.

He keeps staring hard at her, now interested in her reaction to him. "You don't seem disconcerted by my appearance." Maul assumes that means one of two things. Either she's from a galaxy far, far away the same as he is or she's from a place where they have really weird shit around like people that happen to look quite demonic.

But the way he continues to stare at her keeps her on edge, and she's starting to wonder if she should have had some sort of reaction to his appearance. Things that she never had to consider back home, but made more sense here... something she might have to keep in mind for the future. Regardless, it doesn't make sense to keep up a ruse, especially with others from their galaxy here. Some facet of her identity will be revealed at one point or another, why not assert herself from the get go?
"Perhaps because I've seen you before."

That confirms it. She is from the same galaxy as he is. "In person?" He questions. It wasn't as if Maul was unknown to the galaxy at large. He's gained quite the reputation in taking over Mandalore and becoming a crime lord, so his image has flashed across many a news report in places like Coruscant and on the wanted posters of bounty hunters.
"I cannot say the same although...." He pauses, once again giving her a long, steady look. "....there is something about you which is strangely familiar." He still can't put his finger quite on what it is.

Her first suggestion could have been a simple 'I've seen you around this place before today'... but she simply doesn't have the energy to keep up the facade of not being from the same far away galaxy as he is for whatever amount of time she's here.
But he's also correct to assume that she's seen him more via holo. For what it's worth, she doesn't wither under that long look he gives her. Instead, she stares back at him, unfaltering.
"You wouldn't." She was made up, acting decoy to the Queen... but also from a distance, her face wouldn't have been easily recognizable. Even if he had seen her as herself and from a closer distance, she always made sure she was forgettable at best. "I was a handmaiden to Queen Amidala of Naboo. I'm not meant to be remembered."

Maul's gone over every detail of that day in his mind over and over again in a compulsive fashion for so long given the trauma that had happened that day which changed his life forever. He figures she must have been by the queen's side when he'd first appeared, right before he fought Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan. "You needn't worry about me having conflict with you. I have managed to keep the peace with the most part for the Jedi in this city." Granted, occasionally they came into conflict with Maul and his brother, but that more has to do with Maul being unable to stay out of trouble more than anything else. "Stay out of my way and I shall do the same for you."

Of course she doesn't trust it completely, and it's not necessarily personal. She never trusts anyone 100% apart from Padmé.
"Then we are agreed." It's easy enough to agree to, really. There's no point in antagonizing him- and honestly she doesn't have the energy to do so. Even back home, he's not her current objective. "I can't imagine it would be beneficial for either of us to be at odds with each other here."
