[open] Wuko Wedding
Who: Mako, Wu, and you!
What: GETTING MARRIED
When: February 20th
Where: The beach, through the city, at the Raccoon Room in Cellar Door.
Content Warnings: An inordinate amount of fluff, potentially event happenings.
The ceremony itself is a procession, from the beach to the Raccoon Room. It starts with just the two of them, at a flower arch on the beach, their hands clasped together, each in a gold suit with red and green accents on the collar and as piping down the front. They walk together along a flower strewn path, talking quietly with one another, sharing small, nervous smiles.
If you are close to the couple, you recieved a red envelope, delivered either by raccoon or small dragon, a few days before the wedding, inviting you to the ceremony. The small crowd gathers outside the Raccoon Room, where the threshold is decked out in red roses. The couple stands in the doorway, saying their vows, and pressing a blood-and-ash covered hand to the other's cheek.
While the ceremony is private, the reception isn't. Invites have gone out to basically the entire city, via Wu's post, so it's a pretty public event. Maybe you're coming because you saw that post. Maybe you're coming because you're involved somehow, maybe you just see a flower-and-light-filled party and decide to drop in. Everyone is welcome. After all, this is Trench, and everyone could be dead tomorrow, so why not celebrate something good while you have the chance? Come in, dance to music from different worlds, eat cake and noodles and dumplings, celebrate a little moment of happiness while you can. The party's going all night, and the couple making their solemn, slightly-bloody vows to each other are only the excuse for it.
((ooc: Make top-levels to your hearts' content, mingle, have a good time! This is a Trench party and it's open to everyone!

The Wedding
It's not a normal wedding. There's no officiant, they're not standing up in front of a bunch of people to declare their love: this is a Trench wedding, based on Mako and Wu's shared traditions, inventing some new ones. The ceremony itself is a procession, from the beach to the Raccoon Room. …and what is Rocky Horror picture show? I’ve never heard of it.

Well, sadly you missed it. We put it on last month! It was really a wild ride. No one was in the body they had when they were cast! Not even me, I was all bulky. [ He moves his arms out to pretend to have big muscles ] It's this really wild musical about this scientist who makes his perfect guy and then it all falls down around his ears.

[But he feels compelled to add.] I would have missed it regardless because I wasn’t myself either. This place saw fit to remind me of how I used to be.
[Young, happy, and really naive.]

[ Wu leans on a hand, smiling at him sunnily ] Is that a bad thing? Did you used to be someone really terrible or something?
no subject
[He sips his water as he lets that settle in. Not bad.] He was a young, naive knight but not terrible. He just didn’t know anyone and was trusting a feeling left over from myself.

[Then he looks away but the tips of his ears go a bit red. Don’t mind this little moment of embarrassment.] My husband was a shock for him. When we were growing up we were both the same height and build. That changed when I left. He got taller than me. Dressed flashier.
[He looks back at Wu.] If you haven’t met him yet, his name is Kaeya Alberich.
no subject
Oh, so you were friends when you were younger? That's so romantic! Did you like him back then? How did you take knowing that you're together now? [ Spill! The! Tea! ]
no subject
Had their circumstances been like that? He sips his water and he says with a trace of shyness and embarrassment as he looks at his drink.] I did like him back then. I forgot about it after…everything happened.
But I realized we were together and he was all I wanted when I couldn’t think of the future without him in it. [He coughs and lifts his head with a flush on his face.]
And when I made plans I was automatically thinking of talking to him about them.
no subject
[ The marks on both of their faces are proof enough of that, at least. ]
It's really something, isn't it? Having that someone to make those plans with. I don't know what I'd do without Mako. I'm glad that the mes that I became, the ones I shedded into, they knew him. You know, at one point, we were both girls, and we were together in some other version of Trench? It's like we're meant to be!

I can see it with you two. You match each other very well. [He glances to the side, coughing into a closed fist as his face turns a little red.] But I don't know what I'd do without Kaeya either. I got a glimpse of a world without him. I don't want it.
no subject
And you won't have to! Right? Now, now you're in each other's heads! You don't have to be without him, not ever. He's right here. [ The hand moves from Diluc's shoulder to his cheek, where the mark is, and he gives him a little pat. ]
no subject
It helps he was recently that young bright eyed knight and the echoes of it are fresher.] it made sense to tie us together like that. We were already reading each other’s mind as it was.
Even when we were not getting along, we knew each other as well as breathing. I just didn’t want to admit it then.
