[open] Wuko Wedding
Who: Mako, Wu, and you!
What: GETTING MARRIED
When: February 20th
Where: The beach, through the city, at the Raccoon Room in Cellar Door.
Content Warnings: An inordinate amount of fluff, potentially event happenings.
The ceremony itself is a procession, from the beach to the Raccoon Room. It starts with just the two of them, at a flower arch on the beach, their hands clasped together, each in a gold suit with red and green accents on the collar and as piping down the front. They walk together along a flower strewn path, talking quietly with one another, sharing small, nervous smiles.
If you are close to the couple, you recieved a red envelope, delivered either by raccoon or small dragon, a few days before the wedding, inviting you to the ceremony. The small crowd gathers outside the Raccoon Room, where the threshold is decked out in red roses. The couple stands in the doorway, saying their vows, and pressing a blood-and-ash covered hand to the other's cheek.
While the ceremony is private, the reception isn't. Invites have gone out to basically the entire city, via Wu's post, so it's a pretty public event. Maybe you're coming because you saw that post. Maybe you're coming because you're involved somehow, maybe you just see a flower-and-light-filled party and decide to drop in. Everyone is welcome. After all, this is Trench, and everyone could be dead tomorrow, so why not celebrate something good while you have the chance? Come in, dance to music from different worlds, eat cake and noodles and dumplings, celebrate a little moment of happiness while you can. The party's going all night, and the couple making their solemn, slightly-bloody vows to each other are only the excuse for it.
((ooc: Make top-levels to your hearts' content, mingle, have a good time! This is a Trench party and it's open to everyone!

The Wedding
It's not a normal wedding. There's no officiant, they're not standing up in front of a bunch of people to declare their love: this is a Trench wedding, based on Mako and Wu's shared traditions, inventing some new ones. The ceremony itself is a procession, from the beach to the Raccoon Room. It starts with just the two of them, at a flower arch on the beach, their hands clasped together, each in a gold suit with red and green accents on the collar and as piping down the front. [closed to mako] the procession
They didn't come together, but agreed to meet just as the sun was setting. Wu takes the lamp, Fritter decked out in her own little gold outfit with a crown on her head. He walks the last little bit toward the arch they set up in the sand, his heart in his throat, eyes searching for Mako. ]
no subject
He's been at the beach for an hour or so, actually, setting up a last surprise for Wu, who has put so much time and work and effort into this party. It's become something a lot bigger than just the two of them. Even Mako can tell that much: it's something good, something to celebrate in a place that gives them precious little excuse to do that, a sign that the Sleepers here are thriving and putting down roots and growing. On the beach is a war camp; in the future is a monster and who knows what else. Everyone could be dead tomorrow, but today, Mako's taking a step further into this world with the only person who makes it feel not just okay but actively exciting to do that.
His suit remains folded up in a box while he and Zuko work to decorate the arch for them to start under: a symbol of them, all red and gold and green, leading into a path Mako has spent the last few hours lining with lanterns and flowers and beach grass.
As the sun starts to sink, he pulls bits of grass from his hair, laughing quietly at Zuko pushing her little paws into his hair to help. He should feel nervous, probably. This is a big step for them.
Somehow, though? Somehow he just feels content, and a little excited, and pretty thrilled to see what Wu thinks of all the work he put into the pathway. He shrugs into his suit with Zuko's help, pulls the warm gold fabric around himself with a smile that doesn't seem to want to do away, and settles to wait for Wu in the glow of the setting sun
He doesn't have to wait long. Wu flickers into existence in the glow of the one of the lanterns, and Mako steps out from behind the arch as he gets closer, lifts a hand to make sure Wu can see him against the glare of the sun behind. It's chilly, but once Wu gets close enough he'll feel a bubble of warmth that Mako's pushing into the air to keep him from freezing.
Which is good, because Wu looks incredible in that soft gold.
Mako is really glad this first part is just them. He doesn't bother to hide the smile on his face as he holds an arm out for Wu. ]
Hey.

Korra - Open and Closed Prompts
She couldn't be prouder of them both, really. Just being at the Raccoon Room, seeing how much they had created together - it made her smile. She felt that these days the closeness she'd had with Mako - and to a lesser extent Wu - was fading; but that was a natural thing, wasn't it? They'd started new lives - this was what was supposed to happen. And them being so happy brought her absolute joy. How many times had they thought they'd not be surviving which tight situation? But this is the beginning of a new, entwined life.
It also makes her think, quite a bit, about the engagement rings she herself had brought back with her. Given Asami's own thoughts, she'd held off - but now was a time for thinking again.
And it's to celebrate newness - and a little bit to surprise Asami - that she's departed from her usual formal attire. Instead, she wears a vibrant, dark blue dress. After the vows are completed, she spends quite a bit of time near a door, of course - because after all, there's a member of Team Avatar who can't be allowed in near the cake. And so her handbag, suitably lined, doubles as a dumpling container. From it, periodically, she picks one out, sliding her hand out the door. Those watching carefully may see a black nose and some white fur poke into the open space to take it from her.
The Party - OPEN
The decor is absolutely beautiful. Wu certainly went all out. She just sort of explores, really, having not exactly been a regular feature at the Raccoon Room since it had opened.
She'll even try her hand at dancing to some of the modern music, after observing how people move to it.
And she'll be carefully placing a gift somewhere appropriate - a full set of plates and glasses, made in vibrant Earth Kingdom greens and fiery Red for Mako's firebending. The overall effect is to look like gemstones carved into the shape of tableware, really. For now, it's nicely (and heavily) protected and boxed.
The Happy Couple - Closed to Mako and Wu
She ensures that notes are delivered to the two of them to meet her out behind the Raccoon Room later on in the evening. They'll find her standing there, hands folded in front of her, smiling.
"So bet you're wondering what the mystery is, huh?"
the couple
"Yes! Oh, boy, yes," he laughs brightly, squeezing Mako's arms as he watches her expectantly. Is this some kind of Avatar magic? Yes, he's known her for a long while now, but sometimes it really hits him that she's the Avatar, and that's really something, isn't it?

The Party
She takes a brief moment to curse her lack of phasing before smiling sheepishly and reaching down to scoop Moonlight into her arms. "I'm so sorry, I'm not normally so clumsy. It's just that this little lady," she gives Moonlight a mock-stern look, "loves a special occasion almost as much as I do. I tried to go and she kept blocking the door." She tries to chuckle through her embarrassment.

wu || ota
[ There's really something about committing to a lifelong bond with your boyfriend--no, husband--that leaves one elated. Wu generally has a lot of energy, but tonight, he's shining, his grin wide and genuine, his words more effusive than usual. And, while his husband isn't the biggest fan of dancing, Wu spends a good portion of the night on the floor, singing along to his favorite band (move over Lil Nas X, Chicken Choice Judy is here) playing his favorite songs.
He sees you either on the floor, or on the edges of it, and reaches out a hand, singing in his nasally, but so enthusiastic, voice: ]
Ah-oh, hey you! Who said that? Baby, how you been?
[ Or: ]
Lookin' for the love getaway, headed for the love getaway
2: Drinking
[ Wu is nursing a chocolate martini, courtesy of Renfri, leaning on the bar, smiling out at the party. One of the things he's really learned in his time in Deerington and Trench is how much he loves bringing people together. There's something about it that brings him so much joy, like this is what he was meant to do. That king business? That was what he had to do. This is what he wants to do, this is what he feels called to do, and here, while on paper this is a celebration for him and Mako, to celebrate the new marks on their cheeks, the new stage of life they're moving into together, it's also an excuse to bring the whole city together, the Sleeper community. People they know and love, and people they haven't met yet or know in passing. He loves to see everyone together.
He glances at you, with a soft smile, a little high on the love and energy in the air ]
Are you thinking of doing on of these bonding rituals? They're really something, huh?
3: Around the Raccoon Room
[ It's his wedding, so he's spent quite a bit of time with Mako, but that's not exactly the point, is it? The part for them was earlier, the walk from the beach, the vows they said together. This is to celebrate with everyone else, but that doesn't mean he isn't a little distracted, both by Mako as he normally would be, but also by the thoughts now in his head, Mako's thoughts passing through his mind along with his own, and he gets distracted more often than he normally would, pausing halfway through a sentence, or, you know, bursting into giggles at a very inappropriate time because of Mako's running mental commentary about people's dancing (or outfits, or choices in general).
Mako's thinking something particularly scathing about someone's dancing and Wu bursts into giggles no matter what you were just saying. Maybe it was something really serious or heartfelt, and here Wu is laughing. ]
4: Wildcard
[ Hit me! ]
2
[Lysithea appears with a streaky red face. A surprise even to herself, she had begun crying silently halfway through the ceremony and had found it difficult to stop, as occasionally happens with people who keep their emotions neatly boxed up and regulated carefully.]
Don't call it a 'bonding ceremony' on an invitation if you mean you're getting married!
[And of course, she expresses said emotions by huffing good-naturedly.]
Well, I suppose in hindsight -- the language was... it probably couldn't have meant anything else -- but I was distracted, and I brought you a cake, though it's hardly the right kind of cake for a wedding -- it is very nice, if I do say so myself -- it was all so lovely, and -- oh do you remember? when we met and I walked you to the library and I just thought -- I remember Korra and Mako had talked about this fellow named Wu, and I thought 'how nice that you're here for them!' and now you're m-married...
[She wipes at her eyes.]
Ugh! Just ignore me, I'm being absurd! Here's your cake!

Mako || OTA
[ Maybe you think you're imagining things. There's plenty of gold at this wedding, and Wu's in gold too: maybe it's him?
But question yourself not, for what you have seen is indeed happening: Mako is on the dance floor. Mako is on the dance floor actively dancing, with Fritter on his shoulder and a smile on his face. Is he having fun? In public? With other people? Wu isn't even around!
But it gets weirder: if he sees you, he'll maybe even reach out a hand for you to join him.
Weird. ]
2: princess fritter is a thief
[ Okay, this is more like it. After Mako's brief bout on the dance floor—spurred on by having Wu's effusive excitement much closer to him now, in his head just all the time—he's kind of worn out, and makes his way over to the tables laden with food to load himself up a plate. He's just doing that, focused on getting the right mix of food onto his plate. Maybe you're doing the same thing, or maybe you've already gotten your plate.
Either way, while Mako's back is turned, a small raccoon has made her way along the table toward you, and tiny paws are reaching for your food. It's possible that she makes off with something!
But it's also possible that Mako swoops in with blue-flushed nose, yoinking Fritter up with one hand. ]
Fritter! Come on, you're worse than Zuko—sorry—
[ He pauses for a second after that, mostly to think no she's fine you're fine at a suddenly-concerned Wu across the room. ]
3: wildcard
[ Hit him! Mako can be found generally mingling, always with Fritter on his shoulder, a new handprint on his face, and a quiet smile. He'll be much friendlier and more open tonight! ]
2
What is she doing, what are you doing, Mako what are you doing with her?!
[ Then, more quietly, Wu wonders why Mako is being irresponsible with Fritter when he's the responsible father to begin with. Mako was the one who said no, Wu, stop feeding her people food, in the first place! ]

Johnny Lawrence | Cobra Kai | CW Language/Alcohol
That's great. It wasn't going to stop him from using the bar. He can be found hovering around there for most of the night, a beer or one of the more fancy drinks in his hand. After awhile he'll glance over to whoever happens to be at the bar with him. He's had maybe one or two too many by this point.]
You know what? I'm pretty sure I could take the tall, frowny guy in a fight-
He didn't look so tough.
Maybe not tonight...
But some night.
I'm going to kick the shit out of him.

[Good news, Johnny, you've attracted the attention of none other than the bartender, who wanders over to him once everyone seated nearby has a drink in hand and there's a momentary lull in the service. Efficiently, she sets a small glass in front of him and starts building a shot in it — but if he thinks it's intended for him, he'll quickly be dissuaded as she picks it up and slams it back herself.
What? She's been working all night, she's entitled to one for herself. Probably.]

renfri | the witcher | ota
Unfortunately, the only reasonably nice thing she has to wear for the occasion is her red dress from Madam Generosity's...well, generosity last month — the one with the skirt all hacked to shreds where it had once been floor-length and elegant. Now it hits on an asymmetrical slant with the highest point falling about mid-thigh, so it's really an open question of whether the alterations are a detriment or an improvement. At least behind the bar it doesn't really show, however. She's also snagged a red rose and tucked it behind one ear — her only real nod to doing anything with her hair, but hey, it's something.
Feel free to wander over and ask her to make you a drink! She's serving up four specialties tonight. (It is not recommended to request "The Avatar", which involves mixing all four of them together and proceeding to get knocked cold for the next 100 years as a result.) Just don't forget to tip, and don't cause a ruckus, or she'll wave over one of the designated bouncers for the evening — if she doesn't shove you off your barstool yourself!]
ii. BREAK TIME
The music is definitely unlike anything she's ever heard before — for good reason, she's more accustomed to bards with lutes than Lil Nas X with the sickest beats the world has ever heard — but it's catchy and before long she's bouncing in place to it, not outright dancing in place but certainly following along with it.
Want to catch her for a conversation? Dare to ask her to dance? Feel free to snag her around and about the party!]
iii. WILDCARD

So, the bar, she'll focus on the bar. Possibly because the bartender's cute.] So, "The Avatar's" just all four of the other drinks at once, yeah?

Childe and Lumine | Genshin Impact | OTA
1. Good Food and Good Times:
[They've both arrived, all dressed up for the occasion (Childe even styled his hair so it's not completely in his eyes, give him a compliment he'll love it) and have sat down to enjoy the food being served at the reception. The table they're at has a few open seats too, so please feel free to drop in on them and say hello! Don't be a stranger.]
2. Chaos! At the Dance Floor
A.
[Sergei decided he wanted to be invited to the party too, and as the fox omen manifests in the Raccoon Room, Childe gives him a stern look before it runs off. Probably one of the biggest mistakes he could have made, thinking his omen would behave itself.
He'd like to try your food, and this fox isn't even trying to be sneaky about it. Pieces of your meal are disappearing if you're not paying attention, a little hand grabbing a hold of it or just blatantly jumping up on the table/bar to eat it right in front of you. It's good food, and he's trying to get away with it as much as possible before Childe finds out what he's been doing. And he will find out.]
B.
[Perhaps two omens run across your table and start fighting underneath it. Or you're just walking around and a cat runs up your body and starts hissing at the fox that circles around your feet and barks at the cat over and over. Help him out, he's trying to catch the cat!
Whatever it is you're doing, that drink you have on the table goes flying or you're getting tripped up on the dance floor as Sergei the fox omen chases Paimon the cat omen around. He's having the time of his life, but their Sleepers aren't so happy.
If the omens haven't found you yet, perhaps Childe or Lumine will, as they're looking for them in the building. One or both of them will approach, asking:]
Hey, you haven't seen a fox run through here, have you? My omen ran off…I don’t know what kind of trouble he’s causing…
Hi. Sorry, but I think that’s my cat climbing up on your back—
[ Or leg/arm/shoulder/what-have-you. Lumine will try to carefully grab her omen but Sergei is being a pest, taking a playful swipe at her cat (and possibly at the poor bystander caught up in their mess) and causing her omen to jump off and onto the table. Someone’s a complete menace like his Sleeper. ]
3. Dance the Night Away
[As with any good party, there's always dancing. Childe is having fun, and he'll dance with anyone who comes up and cuts in- but be prepared, he's got a few moves and he'll hope you can follow along! Or maybe he teaches you a dance or two if you don't know how. Whether it be a traditional dance from his homeland, or perhaps something more modern, he’ll be happy to lead you along.
Lumine is also dancing with him, but feel free to cut in and take either of them to dance with. Otherwise, Lumine can be found sitting at their table watching, sipping on something non-alcoholic while she cuts a piece of cake with her fork and offers it to her omen, the poor cat who’d been chased down earlier by a certain fox menace…feel free to ask her to dance too!]
Closed to Lumine
[Toward the end of the night, the music starts playing something more slow and Childe invites her onto the dance floor for one last dance of the night. Things had been a little awkward for the two of them, but it doesn’t stop him from taking her out for a nice time. A slow dance seems like something relaxing that they can share at least, as he puts a hand on her hip and takes one of her hands in his.]
Have you had fun tonight, comrade? [He asks gently as they dance to the gentle melodies of the song, swaying back and forth.]
no subject
well, she guesses she's been a little more subdued and pensive than usual tonight, save for the incident with the omens, but for good reason, she thinks. still, it makes sense if that had been the reason why he's asking if she enjoyed the wedding or not. childe's probably just worried. ]
Yes, even though it's been chaotic. [ with paimon flitting in and out and being a bother to other guests. ] Your omen is a menace.
[ like sleeper, like omen, she supposes. ]

ota + coldblood event things in effect
he has a strained, scattered feeling to him at the ceremony, intermittently watching the couple. out here isn't actually as bad as it gets, since the cold air can offset whatever the hell is going on with him and his roiling insides. coming alone, a little uncertain of his placement, he'll mindfully sideline but unconsciously seethe - something manifested in the way he is, uh...steaming? just kinda emitting hot steam into the air.
whatever the hell's going on plays a bit more straight in the way it's affecting his omen, Magnet, who is very jumpy and agitated, apt to whining and growling at people who step a little too close - even flashing some teeth as a warning for nearby people or straight-up biting at Manabu's ankles when the man's getting too worked up without realizing it.
it eases up inside at the party, where there's enough distracting stimulus to keep Manabu's unconscious from gnawing too readily on his conscious. still, whatever the hell was going on out there's naturally going to follow him inside, and he's terribly remorseful and ashamed if he's already set a bad precedent for himself to other people Wu and Mako deemed worthy to have been there. not a good look, Yuuki! whatever's going on...stop it! just stop. behave. be good. be...whatever they need you to be right now.
so...what needs doing here. he can't just enjoy things, especially when he's stirred up like this. he needs a task. he'll, ah...
here, he'll take your empty plate or refill a drink, becoming a de facto busser or server just to keep moving, keep two steps ahead of himself, while his omen tries his best to keep abreast of whatever hazards could come with becoming so tunnel-visioned. so here's a maybe-warning bark from a dog before Manabu's near enough to interact.
what the hell is all this, really? he's clearly stressed, but the emotionally savvy can recognize distressed pining, and and you don't even have to be more specialized for that can tell he's not handling this with much experience or grace. the undercurrent of frustrated yearning that informs his unease is out of his reach, having not experienced it with such intensity before. this is the kind of romantic angst you get at 15 - that world-ending dismay of solitude that fits better at a teen dance than a friend's wedding. while it's beyond him, Manabu knows that whatever bee is in his bonnet is not okay, so he's forcing himself to power past it, desperate to not ruin things for his friends.]
the party
He doesn't immediately catch on that it's that what's bothering Manabu as his plate is suddenly taken from his hands. He blinks, then follows after his friend- casting Magnet a worried look as he does so.]
Uh- Manabu? You- you okay?

Diluc Ragnvindr | Genshin Impact | ota
[He came as just Diluc. A friend and fellow teacher of the magical arts Coldbloods need to learn. He is dressed in a white dress shirt and grey vest, little golden stars serve as his cuff links. An ear cuff with a dark blue stone set in it is on his ear left ear and makes the faded hand print on the left side of his face and neck more obvious.
His hair is pulled back. He looks formal but in a more relaxed way. And on the dance floor he smiles a little bit as he offers his hand.] Care to dance?
[Or one can find him later, watching the dancers with a cup in hand. It’s non-alcoholic and he nurses it like someone lost in thought for hours.]
Later in the night.
[The tent keeps the chill away and Diluc stops by to help it with a little bit of fire magic. He channels it through Dellingr, his dragon omen that flaps above the coals about the size of a small kestrel.
He has taken this moment to be a little apart from others. Parties such as these are fine. But he does like moments to process. He undoes the tie holding his hair back and begins to braid it with deft fingers.
He looks up at anyone who approaches as says,] I’ll move out of your way in a moment.
Wildcard
[Got an idea? Pm me and I’ll set up a custom starter.]
ii
she pauses when she finds the tent occupied, blinking at the familiar red hair even in the gently-lit space. ]
You don't have to, Master Diluc. [ she offers him a faint smile and a hand to stroke dellingr under his chin, the dragon seemingly content. ] I'll do my best not to disturb you. I just needed a bit of a time out ...
[ in fact, she'll find a seat in the corner, tugging the scarf loose around her neck and stretching her legs in front of her. ]

Savage Opress / Star Wars / OTA
Savage wasn't actually invited to the ceremony, so he wasn't in it proper. However, he'd never seen a human mating ritual before, also called a wedding. He knew there were plenty of names for it, but he remained at a distance and watched as the couple with a small group made their way from the beach up to where the ceremony was taking place.
Being extremely tall had advantages and disadvantages. He could pretty much see the whole walk and even lean as he watched in a window. He remained outside for the ceremony part, just observing because that seemed like Wu wouldn't pitch too much of a fit about, and he was very curious.
Humans could be so tame sometimes. It was strange to see actual love on people's faces. He thought it made them look both radiant and ugly at the same time. Their faces did that thing where it screwed up like they might laugh and cry simultaneously. Zabrak where he was from... well, positive emotion was left out of all ceremonies.
Party
He was a wall flower for the most part, the biggest and most stubborn of flowers. He had at least cleaned his armour before coming, which was more than he could say he would do for any other ceremony. He stood against the wall or in a corner mostly, using his superior height to watch the party go into full swing.
Most of the time, his mismatched arms were crossed over his chest, but his eyes followed any and all interesting motions. People had strange motions of their bodies for dancing, some good, some really not. And the drunker people became, the worse their movements became, which really just made humans even more noodle-like.
At one point, Savage held a small plate of wedding cake in hand and was staring at it like it might actually poison him. He'd never eaten cake before, and if he thought sugar cookies were an adventure, spongey sweet smelling cake with its sweet frosting might just be enough to break his nerve. He looked like he might use some nearby table space to hide it. Was that rude?
Trouble in Paradise
Wu had been very specific about no fighting at the venue. The groom had also been wise enough to give Savage a job to do about dealing with those that were getting too rowdy or were crashing the party. He'd endured enough Deathwatch celebrations to know some of what rowdy would look like at a 'civilized' party. It was different from Outer Rim parties that were mostly shoot-outs, so he based his assessment of inappropriate behaviour on the military-style extremists instead.
If anyone was making a big scene, Savage would stalk his way over, sliding through the crowd because really, who was going to stop him? He was 7'2", built like he could break someone in half and had horns. People tended to move out of his way.
The offending person would get a glare from him and a "quiet down" or "stop acting like
a kit" or "if you want a fight, we'll go outside". Anyone that was a repeat offender or actually starting a fight would be set up for being physically removed from the venue.
Party Trouble
When his towering form gets a look at what's going on he'll find Johnny sitting at a table with a few beers and a mess of crushed peanuts. His elbow planted firmly on the middle of it.]
Alright- Which one of you punks is next.
I can do this all night- Or at least until I get a few more into me.

Ruby Rose + Ange Ushiromiya and you!
[It was all the romance and good vibes in the air. Ruby couldn't help herself once the absolute perfect song started to play. Her eyes locked dead onto her girlfriend who was off innocently wall flowering about.
She made a slow approach and gently moved to take Ange's hands in hers.]
I could stay awake just to hear you breathing
Watch you smile while you are sleeping
While you're far away and dreaming
[ Ange's mouth doesn't even open. There's not a word coming out of it. She just stares at the other girl. Perhaps you, an innocent bystander, can see the look in her eyes and interpret it - it's not hard. Even without saying a thing, that look says about 15 different variations of 'Ruby, don't!!' and 'Please, this is too embarrassing!!' But she definitely is only saying it through a look here, not wanting to throw some sort of fit in the middle of someone else's wedding afterparty. ]
[Except Ruby also sees you, the innocent bystander and waves a hand for you to join in.
Do you choose war?
Do you choose peace?
Is there actually a choice here?]
no subject
[There it is, the sound of a camera shutter. Bet you weren’t expecting that!! Sorry Ange. He does have Wedding Photographer written on a card around his neck so he doesn’t get swung at, but he definitely seems like he’s having too much fun and he quickly vanishes into the crowd again.]

Ryan Akagi | Infinity Train | OTA! (cw: alcohol/drunkenness)
[Many people in Trench are familiar with Ryan as a musician. He regularly plays the Raccoon Room, and he's been known to busk in Cellar Door now and then when the mood strikes him. Some of them might have even thought he was pretty good, upbeat and energetic with his electric guitar.
It's nothing compared to this performance.
This blows everything Ryan's ever done alone in Trench out of the water. Every time he's confided in close CR that his music is nothing without Min, this is what he's meant. After the first dance and That's What I Want, Ryan formally introduces all of Trench (or at least those in attendance) to Chicken Choice Judy, and to Min-Gi. He manages (by some minor miracle) to not call him his boyfriend and embarrass him on stage in front of dozens of people, but there's really no hiding it. The two of them have an impeccable chemistry on stage, picking up each other's harmonies with ease and making eyes at each other across the stage. Some things just don't need to be said.
In addition, there are some minor lighting effects that don't seem to be coming from any particular set up, that swirl and sparkle around them. Some people within 10 feet of the stage may feel overwhelming feelings of joy and love, not for the performers but for anyone in their life who makes them feel that way. Go grab a loved one to dance with, or get a drink with the person you've been hopelessly crushing on - now is your moment! These feelings will fade once the live music ends, unless you keep the joy and love going yourselves.
Any time these two leave the stage though, they disappear for a solid fifteen minutes or so. Can't imagine why that would be happening, but you'll have to give him your congratulations once he returns.]
B. ON THE DANCEFLOOR (OPEN)
[Once their set is over, the party doesn't end - they just get to join it. And Ryan loves a good party.
He doesn't entirely abandon Min - there are plenty of times when Ryan can be found by Min's side, listening to the music playing out of the Omni and secretly holding hands when they think people can't see. But Ryan very much wants to dance, and getting Min to dance is a multi-drink project, so on occasion Ryan can be found on the dance floor for just a song or two at a time, shining in his element. Do you wanna dance? Come dance with him!
Despite his tendency to be a bit of a flirt, he noticeably doesn't proposition anyone for the slower dances and turns down anyone who asks. For those numbers, he gets right off the dancefloor and back to his "bandmate" until Min's ready to join him.]
C. JUST A LITTLE LIT (OPEN)
[Maybe you're at the bar. Maybe you were just minding your own business at the food table. You could have been anywhere in the party, but it doesn't matter because Ryan is several drinks in and he has Found You. Does he know you? Maybe! If he didn't before, then he's meeting you now!
He's a little wobbly on his feet, but cheerful enough. In fact, you can feel it radiating off him in waves. Ryan Akagi has never been so happy in his entire time in Trench.]
This is suuuuuuuuuuuuch a good party. Did-- you saw Min-Gi up on stage, right?
[Ryan leans in conspiratorially, like this is some big secret he's keeping, and laughs a little at his own gesture.]
He's soooooooo good! He's like. So good. I've been telling everybody he's good and he's-- he's so good!
[Can you believe it?! Can you?!]
A
It feels better than good. It's perfect. This night- this perfect night- is the culmination of all the love in Trench. And Min-Gi would be a fool to say he didn't feel that. That it didn't affect him.
Up here on stage with Ryan, in full pelt in the middle of their set, he feels more alive than ever. The powers he doesn't even know are his illuminate the stage, swirling and soaring around them in time with the music. They're on their ninth song and flying, Min's fingers racing across his keyboard as they play I Want You To Want Me. He can't take his eyes off Ryan as he sings, feeling like something about the song is pointed at him, too. Maybe he's projecting, but in the context, he doesn't care and from the way Ryan is looking at him here and there.. you know what? He does't think so.]
I want you to want me.
I need you to need me.
I'd love you to love me.
I'm beggin' you to beg me.
[He sings in harmony and perfect time. They're killing this. He was worried but that feels so stupid as they finish their first half. As they slam their fingers into the last chord and laugh with the relief of overwhelming success when the crowd clap and holler. He nods to Ryan and they announce a small break, switching the music over to Ryan's Omni so they can have a breather outside in the fresh air.
It hits him right in the face and Min-Gi breathes in deep, arms out stretched to take it all in with a Blue Lagoon in his right hand. Give him a beat before he crows and punches the air, rounding on Ryan with such a grin!]
Did you feel it? Were your feeling it in there?! We are on fire, Ryan!

Closed prompts for Andi's 3 Good Dogs
[Holler @ me if you want something in particular]
Bolin & Mako
He was a mess this morning getting all the last minute things ready at the club, in hyper-drive from this month's blood affects. He was a mess getting dressed, sniffling as he slicked his hair and had to stop to mop his eyes so he didn't cry all over his new, silk suit. He was a mess as he saw Mako and Wu in the street approaching the club hand in hand, his heart in his throat, his lip wobbling as they passed.
He almost held it together. He really almost did. But he and Mako made eye contact and that- that's when he lost it. He turned to the closest person and sobbed into their sleeve, trying to be as quiet as possible but his heart was JUST SO FULL OF LOVE.
He sobbed through their vows, he SOBBED through the ritual, and once it was done he sobbed as he clapped for the couple.
And you'd think- You'd think he would have cried himself out, but no. No, sir. Because this boy cried all over the both of them before having to excuse himself to calm down. I'm just so happy, he kept saying, over and over again. this is all I ever wanted for you and now you have it and I'm just so happy! I'm sorry- I'm sorry, I don't know what's happening to me, I'm so proud of you-
It's later now. He's calmed down. He is dehydrated. Things are okay.
So he goes to find Mako, warm and sappy and slightly sheepish as he works through the crowded party, tugging at his brother's cuff to announce himself.]

dean winchester | supernatural | open
Now that he's here, among all these people who clearly know one another, who love each other, who are celebrating the lovely marriage of two guys...He's thinking he probably should've stayed home, polished that bottle of liquor off Raleigh had pulled out.
He doesn't belong here. He doesn't belong anywhere in Trench, not really - so many people have memories of someone he isn't, experiences and stories of a person he can hardly believe he'd been.
But...he wasn't. Not really. That wasn't him, that was his older self changing, a shifting personality, malleable and shapeable, and now here he is, clutching a cocktail, eyeballing the exit, torn between pretty people and free liquor and food, and the quiet escape of his little cabin in Ache.
...Maybe another drink will help. Someone hand him one, please. Cause he's going straight to the bar, leaning against it as he obtains another cocktail (he kinda likes them okay, shush), sipping it slowly, letting the liquor settle in his belly.
Next? food. He's still figuring out the farm system he's got going on, but thank God there's a meticulous journal left by his previous self, full of notes and drawings, along with notes in a much smaller penmanship - clearly Cas' writing. Dean can be found filling a plate with goodies, grateful that he isn't eating canned beans and rice.
Eventually, though -- it gets a little crowded, so he steps outside to find a corner of the tent to reset and relax, enjoy the view, maybe chat up a fellow partygoer. ]
(( ooc; also of note! dean's a coldblood and
enjoyingdealing with the effects of that this month too, so definitely expect him to hit on your character, regardless of gender :> if you want anything specific, im at @[incurls.plurk! ))bar!
(She also notes that Dean looks like the type who'd be more at home with a beer in his hand than a brightly-colored cocktail, but tragically those are all she's serving tonight, so.)
The bar is relatively quiet the next time he comes around for a drink, so there's opportunity to strike up a conversation while she makes it. There's also opportunity to do a neat little flair of tossing the glass and spinning the bottles before she pours, mostly just to see if it'll get a reaction out of him.]
You look like you're having fun.
[He doesn't. He looks as ill-fitted to all this merriment as she usually feels in Trench generally. It's something they seem to have in common.]
How's the music? I can't tell if it's a mark of someone's good taste or not; it's not like anything I've ever heard before, either way.

Shiro - OTA
[Shiro promised Wu he'd dress up more for this. He preferred more low-key outfits, really. But a promise was a promise. So after a long while of looking, he'd found a decent suit, with little planetary accents, and black gloves. He'd already tried to trim up his hair into something less messy, for a little ceremony of his own, so no need to work on that. If anyone were to look closely, they would see a marking splashed across the back of his neck - the shape of a handprint.]
[For the most part, he mingles, or collects way too many plates of noodles. Hey, he lived off noodles for a good chunk of time here. He's falling back on his old roots. As far as alcohol goes? He's a water guy. Or, if you're really lucky, you can spy him with his hands cupped around a coffee mug. Please, give him grief for that.]
DANCING
I... think I'm good.
[Is the reply Shiro inevitably gives to an offer to head onto the dance floor. He's settled into a chair nearby, though, keeping an eye on the party-goers. Another thing he'd told Wu he'd do, chip in if necessary, keep an eye out for anyone getting too rowdy out there.]
[But he can absolutely be convinced to get up and join the dancing though. Just grab him and go - he won't argue, he's a pushover.]
WALLFLOWER-ING
[As things wear on, Shiro ends up retreating more, not for lack of enjoyment, but - it's just a natural urge to wallflower. To keep an eye on things, mostly. Easier to watch people, make sure they behave, if you're not out in the center of things, right? That's his logic anyway, where he stands propped up against a pillar or a wall.]
[But look closely, and you can see his gaze occasionally go distant, then see him duck his head, laugh quietly. You'd think he was listening to an earpiece, the way he reacts.]
[Those don't exist in Trench though.]
wildcard;
[Anything else? Go crazy!]
wallflowering
He's about to head out because the mingling shit wasn't working for him. He didn't actually want anyone to realize a total rando came to sob at a couple's wedding. Except for the guy next to him laughs at fucking nothing and Karkat has to stop and stare. Karkat was tragically more empathetic than anyone would ever want to admit. So. He grimaces.)

Iroh - Open
Iroh had not expected the invitation, but when Wu had extended it and his conversation with mako there was certainly no reason that Iroh could see to not be in attendance. After all, the two had been very kind and seemed to know quite a bit about his history, though it was strange to him that time had not painted his time in Ba Sing Se as poorly as he would have thought, or that he would be remembered for its liberation. He stood out rather much from the crowd, wearing the traditional robes of the Earth Kingdom, his attire from the Jade Dragon, and being one of the only ones in attendance who was old enough to likely be a parent of one of the grooms, or rather a grandparent from what he had figured.
The music inside was a bit loud and was quite different than Iroh was accustomed to, and so once he had the chance to offer his congratulations to the couple he retreated to the draping tents outside. There was a drink, one they had called fire on the table, but at the moment he was tending to the coal in the braziers blowing light as the flames burned just a little warmer and spread throughout.
"That's a little better. I find that these old bones of mine don't enjoy the cold as I used to."
On the floor
Once Iroh had a few drinks, and had been asked, he managed to find himself a bit more willing to join in the festivities. He might not have known the songs or much about this cha cha slide, but he was willing to join in and give it a try. Learning and copying many of the others that he had seen through the night, and adding small twists here and there from various forms of bending.
Luckily his nephew was not present to witness the display and become embarrassed by the joyous old man that might be singing slightly off-tune, but still impressively in step even with that big belly bump.
Wildcard [Have something else in mind? Go for it.]
On the floor
And so, short of him pulling away, she'll instantly have him wrapped in a hug, the moment she sees him.

bigby the abomination | open
He has little to his name, but does still have the suit that was given to him by Madame Generosity a month ago, which he opts to wear at this event. He's cleaned himself up as best as he could, but he is bound with some chains, one arm pinned tight to his chest.
With so many people here and after what happened last month, well... he still is not inclined to take any chances.
Bigby for his part does not dance or really make an effort to be anything but a wallflower, but hey. He's here!]
slides in
[Well, hey, at least someone was lucky enough to only get Bigby's good side, last month. He spots the fellow wallflower a ways off, and, well. He waves. Sorry, buddy.]
[Then he's making his way through the party to come hang out with him. They can be wallflowers together. Shiro's dressed to the nines, because he'd promised Wu, and it does nothing to hide the handprint he's sporting as well - mostly along the back of his neck, with a thumbprint at his jawline.]

Vyng | Back-up Bartender | OTA
At some point during the party, Vyng discovers the bar unattended while Renfri is off enjoying the festivities — or, more accurately, he helps himself to a drink when nobody's looking. Before he's finished, he offers to top off a passerby's cocktail. Soon, he's studying (and sampling) the available menu, so he can make recommendations.
One thing leads to another, and he starts taking orders with the ease and confidence of somebody who's done this before. In fact, he infuses the recipes with his own physicality and mastery of the elements until each order turns into its own flashy spectacle. All the while, his finely-sculpted, tattooed arms remain bare for anybody interested in a different kind of show.
Enjoy!]
