[open] Wuko Wedding
Who: Mako, Wu, and you!
What: GETTING MARRIED
When: February 20th
Where: The beach, through the city, at the Raccoon Room in Cellar Door.
Content Warnings: An inordinate amount of fluff, potentially event happenings.
The ceremony itself is a procession, from the beach to the Raccoon Room. It starts with just the two of them, at a flower arch on the beach, their hands clasped together, each in a gold suit with red and green accents on the collar and as piping down the front. They walk together along a flower strewn path, talking quietly with one another, sharing small, nervous smiles.
If you are close to the couple, you recieved a red envelope, delivered either by raccoon or small dragon, a few days before the wedding, inviting you to the ceremony. The small crowd gathers outside the Raccoon Room, where the threshold is decked out in red roses. The couple stands in the doorway, saying their vows, and pressing a blood-and-ash covered hand to the other's cheek.
While the ceremony is private, the reception isn't. Invites have gone out to basically the entire city, via Wu's post, so it's a pretty public event. Maybe you're coming because you saw that post. Maybe you're coming because you're involved somehow, maybe you just see a flower-and-light-filled party and decide to drop in. Everyone is welcome. After all, this is Trench, and everyone could be dead tomorrow, so why not celebrate something good while you have the chance? Come in, dance to music from different worlds, eat cake and noodles and dumplings, celebrate a little moment of happiness while you can. The party's going all night, and the couple making their solemn, slightly-bloody vows to each other are only the excuse for it.
((ooc: Make top-levels to your hearts' content, mingle, have a good time! This is a Trench party and it's open to everyone!

The Wedding
It's not a normal wedding. There's no officiant, they're not standing up in front of a bunch of people to declare their love: this is a Trench wedding, based on Mako and Wu's shared traditions, inventing some new ones. The ceremony itself is a procession, from the beach to the Raccoon Room. Still, when it's for Wu, and the fact he seems so happy, she can at least smile a little. ]
I guess the upcoming time is going to be pretty wild for Mako, considering he'll be able to hear a whole slew of new thoughts. [ Especially when said thoughts are coming from Wu of all people. ]

[ A little self-deprecation there, but a lot of Wu's thoughts end up coming out of his mouth, so it might really not be that different for Mako ]
It feels right, to share this. It feels really right.

[ After all, Mako might not necessarily be a man of few words in general, at least not to an extreme.. but he definitely is a man of fewer words than Wu.
Even if that's a very, very low bar to clear. ]
That's kind of brave of him, baring that much of himself to you. But then again, it feels like he probably was already doing that in his own way before. [ Mako and Wu have been dating for a while now, after all. And Ange feels like you ought to stick by a 'no big secrets' policy while dating. ]

[ Ange has the right idea there. No secrets, just that intense intimacy of honesty between them. Wu believes in the same thing, and his last, rather silly, secret was leaked a few months ago, leaving him completely open with Mako. ]

Is this really embarrassing to admit? Sure. But she has grown close enough to Wu to at least dare to admit it to him, especially when the noise of the wedding is drowning out their conversation enough to all the other people. ]
I don't think there's anything either of us has kept from the other since we started dating. [ And before that? Well, even then she doesn't think Ruby ever really lied to her. It was more just that she herself was still so closed off - in that same way Mako must have been, she figures. ] It's still hard for me to just talk to most people about everything, but.. I feel really safe with her. Like she won't judge me for anything.

[ Wu can tell that he's pushing Ange a little too far, especially for this kind of party. He squeezes her shoulder with a smile. He's glad that they have each other, it's what he wants for both of them, to have that person they can trust with everything they are. ]
We should get you a drink! [ Does she drink? He doesn't know ] A snack? A slice of cake! And then a dance with Ruby!
no subject
[ That's definitely about the dancing part.
The rest she can accept. ]
I definitely want some of that cake though, before all the other guests devour it before I can have any.
