[open] Wuko Wedding
Who: Mako, Wu, and you!
What: GETTING MARRIED
When: February 20th
Where: The beach, through the city, at the Raccoon Room in Cellar Door.
Content Warnings: An inordinate amount of fluff, potentially event happenings.
The ceremony itself is a procession, from the beach to the Raccoon Room. It starts with just the two of them, at a flower arch on the beach, their hands clasped together, each in a gold suit with red and green accents on the collar and as piping down the front. They walk together along a flower strewn path, talking quietly with one another, sharing small, nervous smiles.
If you are close to the couple, you recieved a red envelope, delivered either by raccoon or small dragon, a few days before the wedding, inviting you to the ceremony. The small crowd gathers outside the Raccoon Room, where the threshold is decked out in red roses. The couple stands in the doorway, saying their vows, and pressing a blood-and-ash covered hand to the other's cheek.
While the ceremony is private, the reception isn't. Invites have gone out to basically the entire city, via Wu's post, so it's a pretty public event. Maybe you're coming because you saw that post. Maybe you're coming because you're involved somehow, maybe you just see a flower-and-light-filled party and decide to drop in. Everyone is welcome. After all, this is Trench, and everyone could be dead tomorrow, so why not celebrate something good while you have the chance? Come in, dance to music from different worlds, eat cake and noodles and dumplings, celebrate a little moment of happiness while you can. The party's going all night, and the couple making their solemn, slightly-bloody vows to each other are only the excuse for it.
((ooc: Make top-levels to your hearts' content, mingle, have a good time! This is a Trench party and it's open to everyone!

The Wedding
It's not a normal wedding. There's no officiant, they're not standing up in front of a bunch of people to declare their love: this is a Trench wedding, based on Mako and Wu's shared traditions, inventing some new ones. The ceremony itself is a procession, from the beach to the Raccoon Room. she supposes that's diluc's way of softening the blow somehow to her. not that he needed to do it, when she's more than glad they were able to sort things out between the two of them. but she appreciates it all the same, his attempt to match her consideration over the matter. ]
Was it Kaeya's idea to do the ritual?
[ while the both of them may seem like the sentimental type, even if they try not to outwardly show it, she can't imagine diluc being the one to raise the idea. then again, he's also straightforward enough to put it into action himself. ]

I saw him die in the dream realm and nothing I did could stop it. He saw me die here. Nothing he did could stop it.
This way we can guard each other. If we fall…we fall together.
[Not as sworn brothers but as a united pair in another way.] I thought it through and was willing to accept it if he didn’t want the bond. But he agreed and here we are.
no subject
... so that means kaeya died in another timeline. no wonder it pushed them together upon finding each other in the city. ]
I'm sure you and Kaeya decided what's best given the circumstances. I'm glad for you two, Master Diluc.
[ that they were able to reconcile and talk it out and mend whatever previous relationship they had before tragedy struck. ]
But I'm surprised he agreed since ... [ she gestures at his cheek, an amused expression crossing her face. ] He's always seemed like the type who's very particular with his looks.
no subject
He will also put up with something if the reward outweighs the inconvenience. [It’s a little unfair to shine a light on that weakness but Kaeya can handle it. And who better than their traveler to know such a secret.]
I’m all his and everyone here knows it. I like it for the same reasons. [And while the telepathy at first was a worry, it has since become a boon.]
no subject
Is this really something you should be telling me, Master Diluc?
[ how to, you know, convince kaeya into doing things for her and letting her take advantage of him? not that she'd do such a thing in the first place, as she respects and trusts mondstadt's cavalry captain enough despite his sometimes questionable measures.
in any case, lumine leans back in her seat with a chuckle and a smile. ]
How did it feel? [ maybe not the correct question: ] How does it feel, being bonded to someone?
no subject
Complete. [He nods to himself that is the right way to start.]
…I’m never alone. There is no room for doubt when you can hear all of your partner’s thoughts. We are learning new things about one another but it is all things I expected. I assume the same of him.
Our days are the same we just can talk to each other whenever we want.
no subject
lumine goes through his description of the effect of the bond, chewing on her lower lip thoughtfully. having someone in her mind, going through her thoughts—she doesn't know how she feels about that. her twin brother is one thing, their years spent together honing their ability to read each other ... but someone else? ]
It sounds quite practical in a way, especially in certain situations, though I suppose it's also not for everyone.
[ but she's glad it works for diluc and kaeya. if there's anyone that that bond would for work, however, it's them, seeing that they've had much to talk about their past. ]
no subject
But the dream, and all we’ve seen here. Felt here. I don’t want to be too far from him. And we know each other better than anyone else.
I forgot how much until I heard his thoughts. [It’s nothing to admit that now. Now Kaeya is his and they sorted some of their business our.]
no subject
it really affected them greatly, didn't it? which makes her even more curious as to what exactly happened, what exactly it was that they experienced in those different timelines. but asking about it has always seemed like an imposition both to him and to childe, which is why lumine has never really once asked about it. ]
You two are really alike, you and Kaeya [ she says with a smile, lowering her gaze to dellingr. ] The captain might be a little less straightforward about things, but ...
[ but the things kaeya hinted about in his words, implied beneath that teasing tone is pretty much the same as what diluc's been telling her at the moment. ]
I suppose Paimon is quite right about that.
no subject
He thinks it over. Then he nods,] We are both fairly straightforward under the surface. And duty bound. We give Jean flack for it but we’re just as bad.
[They tell her to take breaks then don’t do so themselves. He shakes his head while Dellingr croons once and shakes his wings out, folding them back against himself.]
no subject
It seems like Dellingr agrees too, [ lumine remarks in amusement, letting her hand rest gently on the dragon's head.
she falls silent for a few moments, letting out a soft sigh under her breath. there's the temptation to stay here all evening, if only to avoid having to deal with the crowd for once. ]
So ... are we expecting something like this anytime soon? [ a wedding, that is. ]
no subject
Not anytime soon. One day, yes and it would be something small with a party afterward. [He won’t deny Kaeya the party he would want. He just doesn’t want a big affair. Their quiet ceremony and what followed was for them.
The rest was for everyone else.] And when we decide to go through with a wedding, you’ll be the first we call.
