[open] Wuko Wedding
Who: Mako, Wu, and you!
What: GETTING MARRIED
When: February 20th
Where: The beach, through the city, at the Raccoon Room in Cellar Door.
Content Warnings: An inordinate amount of fluff, potentially event happenings.
The ceremony itself is a procession, from the beach to the Raccoon Room. It starts with just the two of them, at a flower arch on the beach, their hands clasped together, each in a gold suit with red and green accents on the collar and as piping down the front. They walk together along a flower strewn path, talking quietly with one another, sharing small, nervous smiles.
If you are close to the couple, you recieved a red envelope, delivered either by raccoon or small dragon, a few days before the wedding, inviting you to the ceremony. The small crowd gathers outside the Raccoon Room, where the threshold is decked out in red roses. The couple stands in the doorway, saying their vows, and pressing a blood-and-ash covered hand to the other's cheek.
While the ceremony is private, the reception isn't. Invites have gone out to basically the entire city, via Wu's post, so it's a pretty public event. Maybe you're coming because you saw that post. Maybe you're coming because you're involved somehow, maybe you just see a flower-and-light-filled party and decide to drop in. Everyone is welcome. After all, this is Trench, and everyone could be dead tomorrow, so why not celebrate something good while you have the chance? Come in, dance to music from different worlds, eat cake and noodles and dumplings, celebrate a little moment of happiness while you can. The party's going all night, and the couple making their solemn, slightly-bloody vows to each other are only the excuse for it.
((ooc: Make top-levels to your hearts' content, mingle, have a good time! This is a Trench party and it's open to everyone!

The Wedding
It's not a normal wedding. There's no officiant, they're not standing up in front of a bunch of people to declare their love: this is a Trench wedding, based on Mako and Wu's shared traditions, inventing some new ones. The ceremony itself is a procession, from the beach to the Raccoon Room. You were causing chaos, buddy? You know, if you'd been good we probably would've just given you food, but if you're gonna be a real problem I think you have to go hungry.
no subject
You wouldn't, would you?]
Oho~! Looks like you found his weak point.
[That's just funny. Childe smiles slyly, looks like there's someone else who can handle Sergei besides Diluc and Dellingr.]

[ Mako's voice is full of confidence, largely because he's used this trick on his younger brother for the majority of their lives. He looks at Sergei as best he can with his face smooshed by paws, raising a brow. ]
Not worth it, right? Really think about this one.
no subject
Well done! It's not easy to tame a beast like him. Even I struggle with it sometimes, haha.
[Though it doesn't escape him that he'd probably act somewhat similar had it been him instead.]
no subject
Either way, he snorts and reaches up to scratch at the defeated fox's head. ]
Compared to Bolin, this guy's easy. The amount of trouble that kid got into... I learned our city like the back of my hand just chasing him around. Pretty sure it's why I was able to guard Wu. He was a lot easier, too.
no subject
[He doesn't say why or how, but he's been the brother in both of those scenarios- though he might be more well known as the little brother who got into trouble.]
Still, I wouldn't have it any other way, [he says with a content sigh, reminiscing on far gone days with his family.] Though I find that interesting. Guard, you say? You mean, guarding Wu as the former king he once was, I assume?
no subject
Something like that, yeah. He ended up in Republic City, where I lived, to get away from the chaos in Ba Sing Se, and I guess he needed a bodyguard.
[ Which all sounds normal, except Mako's grinning wide, clearly wider as Wu says something in embarrassed protest in his head. ]
Normal, right? But I was a detective with the RCPD. Not bodyguard material, never done anything like it in my life. Wu only told me a couple months ago that he saw me in the papers after I helped Korra with something and thought I looked competent [ which is absolutely code for "hot" ] enough to be his guard. He pulled me off detective duty to be his babysitter. I had no idea why.
no subject
I bet I could fathom a guess on that one. [He says, a little dryly.]
I wouldn't put it past him to make sure he gets what he wants, [he says laughing, being able to relate to that, too.] Sounds like he took one look at you and your fate was sealed, haha.
no subject
Yeah, it... pretty much was.
I minded then.
Pretty happy about it now.

Childe looks back up at Mako brightly, thinking for a moment before smiling back.]
You've got to give him credit for his persistence, haha. It's funny, isn't it? How a few events and circumstances can change everything.
[He claps a hand on the side of Mako's arm, since Sergei is taking up the shoulder real estate here, while cradling Fritter with the other.]
Though our circumstances here in Trench are less than ideal, all I can say is congratulations.
