[open] Wuko Wedding
Who: Mako, Wu, and you!
What: GETTING MARRIED
When: February 20th
Where: The beach, through the city, at the Raccoon Room in Cellar Door.
Content Warnings: An inordinate amount of fluff, potentially event happenings.
The ceremony itself is a procession, from the beach to the Raccoon Room. It starts with just the two of them, at a flower arch on the beach, their hands clasped together, each in a gold suit with red and green accents on the collar and as piping down the front. They walk together along a flower strewn path, talking quietly with one another, sharing small, nervous smiles.
If you are close to the couple, you recieved a red envelope, delivered either by raccoon or small dragon, a few days before the wedding, inviting you to the ceremony. The small crowd gathers outside the Raccoon Room, where the threshold is decked out in red roses. The couple stands in the doorway, saying their vows, and pressing a blood-and-ash covered hand to the other's cheek.
While the ceremony is private, the reception isn't. Invites have gone out to basically the entire city, via Wu's post, so it's a pretty public event. Maybe you're coming because you saw that post. Maybe you're coming because you're involved somehow, maybe you just see a flower-and-light-filled party and decide to drop in. Everyone is welcome. After all, this is Trench, and everyone could be dead tomorrow, so why not celebrate something good while you have the chance? Come in, dance to music from different worlds, eat cake and noodles and dumplings, celebrate a little moment of happiness while you can. The party's going all night, and the couple making their solemn, slightly-bloody vows to each other are only the excuse for it.
((ooc: Make top-levels to your hearts' content, mingle, have a good time! This is a Trench party and it's open to everyone!

The Wedding
It's not a normal wedding. There's no officiant, they're not standing up in front of a bunch of people to declare their love: this is a Trench wedding, based on Mako and Wu's shared traditions, inventing some new ones. The ceremony itself is a procession, from the beach to the Raccoon Room. [ If her voice trails off for a moment, or Ange sounds a little more awkward, it's definitely because of the husband thing. Despite being at a literal wedding right now, Ange is still constantly surprised to be reminded of the fact that right, other people are married. It's a thing that happens.
She thankfully manages to gather herself back together quickly enough to speak on, focusing on the part of this that's easier for her to discuss. ]
I don't know much about mushrooms in general. I tried replicating one with my magic, but it was no good. The best bet might just be finding some sort of mycologist.

But for now, this is the lead we have. [And where ever it leads, he’ll go. He’d noticed the awkward moment and decides to keep going on the topic before them. It’s for the best.]
As a bonus, the more we learn about mushrooms it could benefit us in other ways. I’ve heard they’re used to using them for a variety of things.
An investment for the future to learn all we can.

Then that's a good effort. I support anything that could make our life here more manageable. [ That's her goal as well, after all. Finding ways of doing so. ] I spend a lot of time in the Archives, so if I encounter any new information about them, I'll let you know. There's so much information there that it's likely there could be more information about them that no one has stumbled upon yet, after all.
[ With the way the books seem to have no order to them, yet there's so many of them. It's like a person could dig through the pile of information there forever. ]

I also study and read through the Archives. If I find something first, I'll be sure to contact you. There is a wealth of information there that doesn't seem that organized. Finding hunter reports has been difficult to track them back towards the first.
If you find early hunter records, I would deeply appreciate it if you let me know. I'm trying to figure out their history and how long the monsters have kept the townspeople pinned in their city.

[ That sounds reasonable enough. Because even though Ange doesn't often look at those, you do often come across stuff not relevant to what you're personally looking into while looking around the Archives - and she figures that the least she can do then is just glance at the dates on the records she spots. ]
Do you have any current theories about it? It sounds a little like you might be saying that you think the monsters haven't necessarily always been here.
no subject
[If they were always there what did people know before? What was common knowledge?] If that isn’t the case. There has to at least be reports of expeditions to find new sources of supplies and possibly travelers managing to make it here. Something.
This can’t be the last town left.

You know, I hadn't considered that yet. The part about when they began to appear, that is. [ Because the part about other places is something she has wondered about already. ]
I kind of assumed they had just been here all along.
[ Maybe it was the influence of having been in Deerington before, where everything at its core seemed to be ever unchanging.
But this isn't a dream. This is a place that must have had a beginning. ]
That could be interesting to look into as well. [ ... ] Well, I guess we have a lot to research anyway.
[ It's like every new thing they discover only brings forth more questions. ]

I hope we can sort through a good deal of it before we're hit with more questions. This place never seems fond of letting us get answers before it throws more strife.
[And it's annoying. But, he takes a second to think over monsters again.]
There are ancient ruins in Teyvat. In the mountains near Mondstadt, Dragonspine is a host to one of them at the summit. There are strong suggestions that the mountain wasn't like it is now. These days it is a frozen wasteland where some of the plantlife is twisted. ...I get the same impression from this world.
It feels like it was twisted somehow.

Of course thinking about the origin of places or the ways they could change would be something much more further away from her then. ]
The locals don't seem to think that way though.
[ Or rather - they don't seem to act as if something huge is wrong all of a sudden, not from what Ange has noticed. ]
So it can't have been a recent change. [ And since their arrival was fairly recent too.. that means something here must have changed quite some time before they showed up, right? ]
I thought i hit this, my apologizes.
If other places exist with people within them...it is likely they are also isolated. It would be interesting to see if there are other shores Sleepers wash upon. Or only this one. If this is The Shore we come to. Why? What makes Trench so important? These are all questions I hope we both can find the answers to. [He slowly climbs to his feet as he adds,] Thoughts to ponder, I think. Thank you for this talk. I need to depart for now. My husband is calling.
[The link is so new he can't have two conversations at once. He presses his hand to his chest and bows slightly.] I hope our paths cross again soon.
no problem! c:
[ It's as if Ange is snapped out of some train of thought she was sinking into fairly deeply at this point. Her eyes grow a little wider, and she stares back in the direction of the main part of the party. ]
Of course.
[ She nods slightly. ]
I'm sure they will. It's not like this place is some huge city or anything, after all. [ Especially not when Ange is very much used to moving around in bigger cities. ] So.. See you.

Or stop by my tavern, the Roost. I hope our paths cross again soon. [Then he smiles, a small polite thing. One nod then he walks away.]
