Who: Mako, Wu, and you!
What: GETTING MARRIED
When: February 20th
Where: The beach, through the city, at the Raccoon Room in Cellar Door.
Content Warnings: An inordinate amount of fluff, potentially event happenings.
The ceremony itself is a procession, from the beach to the Raccoon Room. It starts with just the two of them, at a flower arch on the beach, their hands clasped together, each in a gold suit with red and green accents on the collar and as piping down the front. They walk together along a flower strewn path, talking quietly with one another, sharing small, nervous smiles.
If you are close to the couple, you recieved a red envelope, delivered either by raccoon or small dragon, a few days before the wedding, inviting you to the ceremony. The small crowd gathers outside the Raccoon Room, where the threshold is decked out in red roses. The couple stands in the doorway, saying their vows, and pressing a blood-and-ash covered hand to the other's cheek.
While the ceremony is private, the reception isn't. Invites have gone out to basically the entire city, via Wu's post, so it's a pretty public event. Maybe you're coming because you saw that post. Maybe you're coming because you're involved somehow, maybe you just see a flower-and-light-filled party and decide to drop in. Everyone is welcome. After all, this is Trench, and everyone could be dead tomorrow, so why not celebrate something good while you have the chance? Come in, dance to music from different worlds, eat cake and noodles and dumplings, celebrate a little moment of happiness while you can. The party's going all night, and the couple making their solemn, slightly-bloody vows to each other are only the excuse for it.

Pfft. I was...okay. I did a solo your once though? And it suuuuuucked. I crashed and burned like, so hard.
[He makes a gesture with his hand, making it slowly take off from the table and then crash down toward it again. It's all the explanation he offers for that part of his life. Everything else makes him grin though.]
Heh. I aaaaam! I'm so psyched he's here. He had to go back in the ocean at first but now he's back! And playing with me!
[He drums the table with his hands out of excitement, but the beat's a little off at the moment. for obvious reasons.]

[He says again - before Ryan gets too far down memory lane. Yes, he'll listen, he's listening. He still has to make sure Ryan stays hydrated. He'll thank Shiro in the morning.]
I meant here. You did great with your solo acts here. But I'm sorry - that must have been hard.
[To crash and burn at something so important to you. Something you loved. Not that Shiro would know anything about that... hahaha... hah.]
Why did he have to go back in the ocean? [Look, Shiro can be slow on the uptake, but the absence of the other young man around the house, combined with how miserable Ryan had been? He can put two and two together. But he's missing the why.]

...It was my fault.
[With the way it hangs in the air, it's not clear if he's talking about his tour or Min-Gi disappearing into the sea. The truth is that as far as Ryan's concerned it applies to both.]
I was-- I ran ahead of him again, y'know? [No Ryan, Shiro has no way of knowing what that means.] When I got here, Wu...he asked if we were boyfriends and I had squid brain and got allllll excited and said "Yeah! Totally!" But...here's the thing. [Whispered very seriously:] We were NOT boyfriends. We were jus...we were bandmates. And best friends. And born on the saaaaame day in the same hospital! So...not boyfriends but like, soulmates, y'know?
[In other words, he told Wu when his brain was similarly messed up as it is now.]
But then! Then he actually got here! And I forgot I said it but then Wu talked to him and he...heeee panicked. Like, panicked so hard he turned back into a squid, dude.

[Of all the missteps to make...] Yeah, I can see why he'd have been upset. That's not something you can just walk into and accept.
[Especially if there'd been no communication about it before. Especially if you came from a time period where it didn't seem to be acceptable, to put it mildly.]

Mmmmmm-hm. I didn't think he was gonna come back. I screwed up big time and it's not-- I mean, it was the first time that way, but I've screwed stuff up for him before...
[He seems kind of far away when he says that, thinking about something else for just a moment.]
But he did! Aaaaaand we talked it out. With our mouths. Lots of talking.
[Ryan really, genuinely thinks he's being subtle here.]

[But who is Shiro to judge? How often he'd screwed up where his own romance was concerned. How many times he'd let down his own partner - we'll work on both our halves]
They have a habit of surprising us like that. When we least expect it - when we think we've messed things up too many times. They show up.
[Okay, but there was more to that inspirational speech. Except there's that bit of TMI and Shiro's dropping his head down to the tabletop with a groan.]

[The laughter fades a little though, as he considers the rest of it.]

[He twirls a hand, like he's trying to summon the word. It takes him a couple of beats.]
...sick of me, eventually. So yeah, it's kinda...it's a nice surprise when they stay? Or when they come back? ...I'm really glad he came back.

[It's muffled by the tabletop. Very muffled, and very resigned. He sighs, at length, and lifts his head, arms folded across the table instead.]
Hey - we're not sick of you. [The household, he means.] You're still welcome with us.
But I get it - I'm glad he came back to you, too.
[It's one of the reasons Shiro himself sports the handprint along his jawline, for example. That fear of someone not coming back.]

[He waves a hand, as though this is a normal conversation to be having with someone. Just casually brushes it off.]

[This is probably a good thing, considering what "Black Parade Wasted" entailed. Still, he's not sure how to react to that. Is Shiro just being stubborn? Maybe that's it. His powers are harder to use while he's drunk, so it's a little harder to really be certain, but people who aren't supposed to give up on him have absolutely done so before. It's not that he doesn't believe him exactly, but...well, everyone has a breaking point, right? He just. Happens to hit a lot of people's breaking points.
But this is a happy night! He doesn't want to be all mopey.]
Hopes are suuuuper high. Things are going really good! WAY better than expected.

[But at least he sounds amused about it. Instead of upset. But that's Shiro for you. Either too stubborn or too idealistic to even think about giving up on someone - genuine to a fault. That fault being his own well-being, but oh well.]
