Dean will toss a post up on the network that is visible to all. It's just an ad for the place - a huge blinking gif that says ROCKY'S BAR, and a text under it that says 'GRAND OPENING MARCH 1, 7:00pm - ?'. There is a list of information available in the post, as well as normal opening times (12 noon), and closing (2am-ish). This is an open invite for the entire community to come check it out. All ages will be permitted into the arcade (and offered soft drinks/water from the bar) until 10pm, after that, they will be asked to leave the premises, and it becomes adult only.

Admission: Admission will be local 'currency'; a shiny rock, quartz or gemstone (or something similar) will pay for a night of drinks and games. Spices and things like salt/pepper are also acceptable.

Or, if you want to work a shift then throw down, same gig.

The place will be set up for a proper party - streamers, music pumping from a jukebox in a corner, though there is a playlist that is on shuffle unless someone picks something else. At the far end of the bar, through scattered tables and chairs, there is also a karaoke stage. Two microphones are set up, but there are more if there are enough in the party to warrant digging them out. For now, a Trench citizen is running the karaoke rounds (and will be doing so every Friday night until the position is otherwise filled), and should you want to sing, just write your name down in her little black book along with the song title, and she'll call you up when it's your turn.

There's a long banquet table of food against one wall that is being refreshed as needed by various Trenchies. It includes the following:

French fries
Onion rings
Nachos
Wings
Mozzarella sticks
Quesadillas
Chicken Sliders
Artichoke dip

Traveling downstairs and into the basement will take you to the arcade - there are tons of games lit by neon and blacklight, their siren song luring you right in. Pacman, DDR, Galaga, Asteroids, Frogger, etc are all there, as well as several pinball machines, ski-ball, a foosball and an air hockey table. If you dream it, it's probably there.

If none of that is your style, you can hit the bar, where Dean himself (and another Trench citizen) will be serving drinks - there's a Squid Special (a tequila shot and a beer), and three craft beers on tap - Cosmic Cowboy IPA, Fox Rye Lager, and Blue Ghost pale ale, all from Dean's own microbrewery.

(( ooc; this is an open/party style log where everyone can interact with everyone else. Don't feel the need to wait for Dean to serve you a drink, there is another Trench bartender helping him out until he hires someone else.

"Yeah, that's exactly what I was going for -- two fronts, you know? Something to kinda cater to everyone."

And, you know -- Dean's not exactly a businessman, he's smart as hell and rigged all this together, but a marketing major he is not.

"How would you suggest advertising?" He's open to any feedback, he doesn't care how old the person is. He learned a long time ago not to discount kids and teenagers. They're resilient as hell and smarter than a lot of people give them credit for - he can attest to that personally.

"Well you nailed it! Granted, I don't know a lot about bars, but it looks like you have just about all you need to go into one of those!"

If television is to be believed, because of course it would be. Luz may not have been a drinker, but she'd have certainly tried her hand at pool or darts.

"Well. Obviously you'd advertise on the net, which you have covered already. You might want to even get a mascot so people will associate that with this place! Obviously you have the special nights going, so that's good! Now, if you want some FREE advertising, I can actually arrange that for you in the sky."

"A mascot, huh?"

He could see where that may be helpful, though he has no idea what the hell he'd choose. A caricature of his omen, maybe - Zepp's cute as hell, she'd be a good one, he thinks.

"Really? In the sky?" That would be pretty legit, actually. "How?"

"Sure! We could get someone to draw it up, might even want to use it on tokens so people will know it came specifically from this place! You have to be the first one to offer a full on arcade, right? That's going to get people here alone, to see what going on, and a character they can remember is sure to stick in their minds!"

Luz had seen it happen plenty of times, and it was bound to here where there was no real competition.

"Oh, that'll be me and my glyph magic. I can cast light and get people's attention. Think of it as a flashing sign but without the sign, and I can make it as big as I want!"

"Yeah, I think I am." The first, he means. He'd found the remnants of Jennifer Check's bar, but she hadn't really had games. Not like this. He's already thinking about an appropriate mascot - this requires more research.

"Wait, really? You can do that?" Because that's damned impressive in his book. He still doesn't know what the hell he can do.

It would have made Luz really sad to eventually realize that Jennifer's bar was gone and this was in her place. She'd liked that place a lot, and despite how different the two of them had been, Luz had liked her too. Sadly, sometimes people came and went, and at least Jennifer's idea of a place where kids could go was still happening, even if it was different.

"Yup, I can! That's not even a power this place gave me, I learned that back 'home!'"

Technically the Boiling Isles wasn't HOME home, but it was still a place Luz had come to love and consider her home away from home. Still, it was a power she hadn't learned here, so she was still pretty proud of that.

Well, Dean likes to think maybe he did it some justice - at least now it's in use again, cheerfully buzzing with people and games alike. He wanted to make sure everyone was included when he was building the place, because yeah a bar is fun and all and something he likes, but an arcade seemed like a good way to kinda make sure there was a space for everyone.

Even deer, apparently.

"Really? Like, magic or something? That's badass."

Luz would be sad that the place taht was made for kids specifically was gone, but at least happy to know it attracted them in another capacity. An arcade was honestly the perfect way to do that, and having it double as a bar made it so that there was a place for older people to unwind too.

She imagined, though, that Jennifer might not approve of adults around kids that might mean them harm, but that was obviously a worse case scenario.

"Yes it is, and yes, it is very cool! Plus, you won't have to use up electricity for it! I can even have it display in the sky for you!"

"Seriously? That would be awesome."

Super helpful, actually. He's always been a little on the fence about magic but here, hell -- everyone seems to have it. Even just normal people, like himself. All these weird blood powers... wild. Wild.

"This place is awesome! The way I look at it, it's just a cool way of getting more people to come and see it for themselves!"

Luz had always liked the idea that kids that wound up here had a place they could just be themselves and forget about the awful blood stuff or the things in the water. They could just have fun!

And if she could flex a little on some of the abilities she had, why not?
