She'd always been fairly independent, but she'd also found it hard to make new friends. She'd spend most of the time lost in her own head, thinking about things instead of actually doing them. And Lexi didn't mind the slow pace too much, it usually seemed like life was going too fast back home. But not the good kind of fast, the bad kind where if it were a movie, the car would crash and go down a cliff.

Lexi wished she could be so optimistic. She generally wondered if Rue had simply outgrown her, like she was a pair of sneakers which didn't fit anymore. Hard to get rid of, but not very useful. "I hope you're right. I can't help wondering what's going on while I'm not there, though."

[democratically]

"It is something I wonder about as well." Although Padmé has been told some of what her future may be. Of what the future of the galaxy may be. "I think that you may drive yourself crazy if you think about it."

"Really? Well. At least I'm in good company?" But telling things like that instead of living them, weren't they worried they'd somehow fuck up the space/time continuum? "Most likely. And I don't have far to go." A joke, but not an untrue one.

[democratically]

"Well, two is a company. Three, a crowd..." Offering her own smile in turn. She gave an acknowledging and contemplative hum though. "I'm not entirely certain- there are those from the future, as I consider it from my viewpoint- their past, of course. Knowing isn't always the best."

"They have that saying in your world, too? That's weirdly comforting." To think that a simple phrase might be a commonality between people of different worlds. "No, it's not. Though, it's like a common courtesy to not tell people stuff from their future. Kind of a social faux pas?"

[democratically]

She blinked, before nodding. "We do." It wasn't something that she really thought about. She knew that there were foods that she had no idea about, and even here, they were different from what she was used to on Naboo or Coruscant, but she wouldn't even claim to have tried a percentage of what the galaxy might offer, so could not claim it didn't exist where she is from.

"If they ask? Or something here accidentally reveals it? I'm afraid it's not quite as straightforward as that."

"Huh. Sorry, I thought it would be an Earth thing. We love our sayings, especially where sex might be concerned," she said with a bashful laugh. But this is her first time away from home, she's trying to find as many commonalities as she can to make this easier on herself.

Oh, um, nothing's straightforward, is it? Ever?" Much as Lexi wished otherwise.

"I'm sure we have some that you've never heard, and you've some that I've never heard." Heck, even talking to her, Padmé sometimes has no idea what Lexi is talking about, but paints a picture of what it might be. Sometimes she can fill in the blanks with people from other universes, but at other times, she struggles to piece it together. "No. Very few things ever are."
