[ wanda speedwalks to him to cover the distance. she steps out in front of him and walks backward, smiling at him. she's without her witch's hat, which is fine—with a wiggle of her nose, it picks itself up off the ground and floats in the air after them. ]

( he doesn't know. he frowns when he stumbles a bit, leg locking up.

It's a good costume. [ she looks back at him and states matter-of-factly. ] When you win the 'Best Costume Award', it will be because of me. Remember to thank me in your speech.

[ wanda clucks her tongue and sags her shoulders. she pouts at him. ]

[ wanda feigns a crestfallen look as she sighs heavily, pretending as if he's prompted her to remind her of the fact that he, her date to this alleged party, is no longer her date. ]

( amos rolls his eyes. )

And I'm sure that it would bother you so much.

[ she sighs dramatically, ignoring him as she walks rather forlornly. there's a sad little air around her. ]

( he thinks he's a rare breed, being this nice. )

[ she cocks her brow as she looks at him. ]

[ and she's not referring to her magic, of course. she puts her witch's hat back on her head and adjusts it, although it's slightly lopsided. ]

[ wanda cocks her brow. ]

[ while wanda does her best to appear very serious at his response, going as far as nodding, she's just as quick to break into a wide smile. she crinkles her nose in elation. ]

[ she can read between the lines, burton. ]

( amos rolls his eyes and moves to take a step when he realizes that his leg is much, much stiffer than it should be.

he frowns and looks down. he tries to bend his knee and finds that he cannot. )

[ wanda shakes her head, clucking her tongue. he's finally getting into the spirit of things, even if wanda suspects it's to try and deter her from ever asking him to dress up again. ]

( he knocks his leg and there's only the sound of hollow metal. )

[ she furrows her brows as she looks at him before dropping her gaze to his leg. there is a good chance he's pulling her leg right now, but wanda doesn't brush him off. tilting her head to the side, she listens for a moment before looking up at him again. ]

Move it again.

( he tries to do just that but his knee doesn't bend. he can move it but he nearly falls because he has to drag his leg across. )

I can't bend my fucking leg.

Five minutes ago, I was fine.

[ if amos is about to fall, wanda very easily magics a barrier that'll keep him from tumbling backward.

she peers down at his leg curiously before she squats. gently touching his knee, she frowns as she begins to knock her fist along his leg. glancing up, she looks around in search of something. ]

It could be where we are, but... [ she shakes her head. ] I can't sense anything strange here.

Then, why's my leg sound like that? I'm not made of fucking metal.

( he tries to force his knee to bend and all that does is send pain radiating up his spine.

he stops, panting a bit and then shakes his head. )

[ wanda presses her lips to the side as she looks down at his legs. she doesn't consider the fact that she doesn't do potions. she can fix anything with a flick of her fingers and a little might. ]

[ and to convey what she means, she taps on his pant leg. while she sincerely doubts amos will care for his modesty, she doesn't particularly want to pull up his pant leg without his permission. it might spook him into stiffening even more. ]
