[Ezra's posture loosens a little as he settles in storytelling.]

Yeah, it's clearly been a pilgrimage spot at most, for a long, long time. Kanan was surprised when he found it in the records on his holocron.

It's where I had my first...trials. You saw the end of that, when I talked to Master Yoda the first time. The strength of Force in the temple helped us find each other.

We didn't visit it often, but eventually the Empire followed us. Sidious had a particular interest in, because well. Even when the studying I've been doing for the last year, I still don't have the right academic terms for it. But the temple was bigger on the inside. Parts of it were connected to the flow of time.

[jedies]

[ that's interesting, but . . . he could see that. ]

Like time stopped?

[ezra_of_lothal]

No, at least not that I saw.

What I came across first were doorways to moments in the past. I'm not sure if it could only be moments from your own past, or if that's just what I was drawn to. I think it was potentially more than that, because I heard many voices. Some of them I recognized, like Master Yoda's, Kanan's, Anakin's. Yours.

A lot I didn't recognize.

[jedies]

[ hmm. for a moment he thought — ]

This temple. Did it have any unusual iconography?

[ezra_of_lothal]

Yeah! In a few different..styles?

There was a mural that the Empire was especially interested in - that ended up being key. There were...three figures. Sabine called them archetypes. An old man in the middle and woman who I think represented Light and man who seemed to represent Dark, flanking the old guy.

Interacting with the mural while touching the Force made the portal to those doorways in time open and also. [He takes a shaky breath.]

Interacting with the Dark figure destroyed what was left of the temple. I thought it would just close the portal back up, and I think I could have stopped it there. But I knew I couldn't let Sidious have access to that sort of power so I...kept going until there wasn't anything physically left.

Or, um. So I thought. Sidious had already had part of the temple moved to the fleet blockading Lothal. I found that out when I surrendered myself to stop the fleet bombarding Capital City.

[jedies]

[ ah. obi-wan closes his eyes quietly. ]

The Father, Daughter and Son.

[ezra_of_lothal]

[Ezra hesitates. He'd expected some sort of reaction to the news of destroying the temple, but Obi-wan seems focused on the...figures.]

...they're not just archetypes, are they?

[jedies]

No. We . . . encountered them some time ago. During the Clone Wars.

[ezra_of_lothal]

[Hmmm.]

Really bad, or just really weird?

[jedies]

Both, I'm afraid. None survived.

[ezra_of_lothal]

[He breaths out, slowly. Obi-wan clearly isn't inclined to go into detail.]

Ok. Is there anything else you think I should know about that?

[jedies]

I don't know. That situation was . . . [ obi-wan hesitates again, uncharacteristically so. this is the most he's ever spoken of mortis and even now, it does not come easily. ] . . . strange. I could not say what was true and what was not.

[ezra_of_lothal]

[He ponders quietly for a moment.]

Were they...a little like Pthumerians?

I've met another being like that, back home. He called himself the Bendu. The one in the middle.

[jedies]

[ obi-wan exhales softly. ]

Quite similar in temperament and power.

[ezra_of_lothal]

[He nods slowly.]

The Bendu was very, uh, set on his purpose.

[jedies]

The others were more dynamic. Dangerously so.

[ezra_of_lothal]

I wonder what their actual connection to the temple on Lothal was.

Although, with them dead and it gone, I guess there's only so much it matters.

[jedies]

Most likely, they've made contact with Jedi in the past.

[ezra_of_lothal]

A very, very long time ago.

I doubt there'd be anything on them in the material I have from the Archives, but I guess it doesn't hurt to check.

[jedies]

Perhaps it's for the best not to look.

I don't think there is more to be said about them.

[ezra_of_lothal]

[Ezra stares for a moment.]

Because they're dead? Or something else?

[jedies]

. . . Because it's dangerous to meddle in forces beyond our comprehension.

[ezra_of_lothal]

First - I don't think keeping records, or examining what we have, is the same as meddling. That's just trying to keep track of what we know and don't know.

Second, you could make that argument about using the Force, at all.

[jedies]

[ obi-wan frowns at him. ]

You want to say the Force is beyond comprehension?

[ezra_of_lothal]

Ignorance, yet knowledge.

Our comprehension can never be complete, can it? But that doesn't mean we should embrace ignorance, either.
