(it's funny how things work. last month all she ever did was sleep and now? now she can't seem to fall asleep. there's just this big fear of the unknown of if she does, will she wake up? jinx had always imagined her death would be a lonesome one but now that it is here in front of her face, it's... something she wishes not to encounter. at least not yet, anyway. there's still so many unfinished business to take care of before she departs from this world. or any world. sure, she can pull all nighters again like she did back in her hideout at home.

but... she would rather not. the bloodstones of her sister's blood are nearby and they only seem to calm her just enough where she isn't going into full panic mode. ugh. what is she to do?

slouching on her couch and letting her arms resort back into squid tentacles, jinx jadedly waves them around in a silly "do the wave" motion until the familiar black smoke sprout of her chest. her spider monkey omen hops out then turns to face her; looking concern. there's a quirk of an eyebrow as he chirps to her in his native language -- which is monkey. and fun fact, jinx replies back to him in the same way... in monkey. yes, her omen did take the time to teach her how to talk monkey. why? because she enjoys it.)

(in their conversation, he agrees to let her use him to text whoever she wishes to (still no omni access whoops). jinx turns her arms back to its human form and hunches over to send out a message.)

[He's usually awake at night, and he's patrolling. He's aware that he's more restless than usual, but it's fine. It doesn't matter. He's been to the Void and back, he can survive whatever this stupid Trench thing is. He's patrolling the streets when he gets the message.]

[Well now, this is rather bizarre. Ochako is awake, strangely enough. Bakugou might go to sleep early and wake up stupid early, but she's usually the one that sleeps late and wakes up later - she's most definitely a night owl in that way. Tonight, however, she just couldn't really sleep - probably the work of too much caffeine or something. Ochako is an avid tea drinker, after all.

The text is from someone she recognizes, but not someone she knows, per se. Not well, anyway. Hell, they got off on an incredibly bad foot to start, let's be real. Vi, however, seems nice, and Ochako likes her...wants to give her sister a chance, too. There's obviously a lot going on there, and she knows how that goes. It's something she has to work on - getting past her own initial bias and anger. She shouldn't judge. She should really just try to see things more objectively. It'll help her as a Hero and as a person.]

[Maul blinks blearily when the message comes in. He'd been just about asleep and had only checked to make sure no one had a broken leg and nothing was on fire. But seeing it's from Jinx wakes him up a little bit.]
