[ she dips her hat on her head with a smile and a mock curtsey. if they had to play the game of being on the high seas, she would definitely keep the hat to play the part. ]

I think that when we get to shore, I might put it away for a special occasion.

Special occasion like us having to suddenly be on a ship again?

( he would rather this be the last time. he doesn't hate boats but he's also not a huge fan. he likes having his feet on solid ground. )

Or maybe Halloween?

[ if katherine's going to dress up for halloween as a pirate, he's dressing up as her first mate. isn't it within her right as his partner to demand they wear matching costumes? katherine's not much for stereotypical tradition, but she thinks that would be a lot of fun to torment stefan with.

she smiles up at him. ] Or maybe in bed. I could always make you walk the plank.

( stefan starts to laugh because he'd been with her up until the plank thing. )

[ she rolls her eyes and smiles. sometimes, she wonders if stefan has ever done anything other than simply have sex in bed. hasn't any of his girlfriends ever roleplayed? she doesn't want to know.

Maybe I sentence you to walk the plank and you decide you want to convince me not to make you by wooing me in bed.

( and now she's given him a secret weapon in his...fight against pirate captain. he snickers at himself. )

Maybe I'll make you walk the plank when I start a coup to try and take over.

[ she smirks. ] You'd enjoy it.

[ see how katherine spins almost everything back into stefan being overly obsessive with her. it's a talent—one she's glad the seven seas hasn't washed away from her. ]

I'm unconvinced you don't watch me when I walk away.

Maybe I do but I also don't announce it.

[ she brushes her hand against his chest. pouting up at him, she smiles. is he upset she says he has a flat ass? but she compliments him about other big things and all he wants is for her to stop so his blush goes away… ]

[ she reaches up to gently brush the back of her hand against his jaw. ] Your nice, sharp jaw.

No, I'm not upset. I don't have to be complimented.

( he makes a face underneath her touch and then reaches up to flick her nose. )

[ she tilts her head upward and smiles up at him. without shifting her gaze away from his, she reaches around and gives his ass a smack. ]

I'll throw you overboard if you insist on being rude to your captain.

And then you'd immediately miss me and have someone pull me out.

( would she really want to be around all these gross men without him? )

I keep you warm at night.

[ she wrinkles her nose, smiling. she likes how defensive he's getting over the possibility of being thrown overboard. if she's going to toss anyone into the ocean, it's going to be the crew. stefan will be lucky last.

he knows that. he doesn't need that reaffirmed for now. ]

I can keep myself warm if I really wanted to. [ she smiles at him. ] Do you have anything else to offer me?

Are you going to be the one that kisses you all over? That rubs your feet? That rubs your back? That bathes you?

( sure, she might be able to do some of those but stefan doesn't think that she's going to want to do all of them herself. )

Hm. You make a good point.

[ she purses her lips and taps her finger to them, ignoring the way the boat sways noticeably. he does make a very good point—and she doesn't particularly want anyone else to even get that close to do all of those things. she enjoys them from him and him alone.

she's so glad he's found himself on the strange pirate ship. ]

I suppose I'll have to keep you. Do you mind?

I don't.

( she might not notice the boat sway but he does and he looks around. boats definitely move but that was a movement that's a little more than usual. )

Are we about to hit a storm?

[ pursing her lips, she peers up at the ceiling for a moment as she listens. she hasn't been a pirate for very long, but she's been around long enough to know when a storm is approaching. ]

Maybe a light shower.

[ she looks up at him with a smirk. ]

Want to wait it out with me? It's very important to keep your captain warm, you know.

No, I think I want to wait it out with someone I don't know.

( why kind of question is that, katherine? he smirks right back at her and walks over to the bed, pulling the blanket off. )

I think this'll do a good job of keeping you warm.

[ she rolls her eyes. katherine obediently follows him, coming to stand on the opposite side of the bed. it's luxurious for a pirate's ship and big enough for two people. she knows that it feels nice. she'd slept on it the moment she had been pulled from the water and had commandeered the ship as her own. ]

Hm.

[ she scrutinises the bed playfully before peering up at him. ]

The blanket looks cold by itself.

How can blankets look cold?

( this is something he's very curious about. he knows she'll bullshit an answer and he wants to hear it. )

I don't think a piece of fabric can look cold, Katherine.

Yes, it can.

[ she rolls her eyes and smiles wider. sometimes, stefan has no imagination. they're on a pirate ship, there's a comfortable bed, and it looks awfully cold and empty. one plus one. ]

It looks empty and cold. Maybe you should warm it up with me.

[ captain's orders. ]

I think you might have to get into the bed before I get in so we can do that.

( he's pretty sure she wants him to be the human blanket rather than the actual blanket. )

Come on, get in. Get comfortable.

[ she smiles happily. excited by him not refusing her, katherine sits on the edge of the bed and works her boots off her feet. once that's done, she slips beneath the covers, propped up by her pillows.

she looks at him expectantly. ]

We may need to try and steal this bed once we've docked.
