Her head hurts way too much for this. Actually, no. The migraine seems to be receding. The confused look remains for a moment longer before it hits her. Oh for - of course. Maul's a Vileblood. That's why the pain in her head is subsiding. Okay, okay, this is fine. He seems more... harmless like this, so maybe it's not such a bad idea to hang around a little while.

"Huh," she answers when he talks about how rare his red skin is, and shrugs a little. "Admittedly, I have a pretty limited pool to draw from on that one, and I'm probably not the best judge on that either."

She blinks when he talks about being spiced, and it takes her a moment to put it together. "Ohhh. Spice is... like a drug where you're from? For us, it's just, like, seasoning." Lightsabers and inebriation seem like a fantastically bad idea, but given the way his universe just seems to be, it wouldn't surprise her a bit if it was still a thing. She's still fairly sure psychopathic Force users is why they had to become so medically advanced.

As he speaks to Willow, Maul just keeps occasionally reaching out and petting her hair. Really, this is just fascinating for him in his current state of being. When he finally sobers up, he is going to be mortified at how he was acting. "Of course not. Most human beings here only have other humans to judge standards of beauty on. It is a limited scope." He's just being honest. There's twenty million sentient species in the galaxy so Maul's ideas are a bit broader. After all, even Hutts can find someone who finds the giant slugs attractive enough back home enough for the species to keep reproducing.

"Mmmm-hmmm," Maul says with a nod and a bit of a chuckle at the amusement of thinking spice simply meant seasoning in other places. "There are pirates that do nothing but run spice for the more notorious places of repute in the galaxy. But it has been years and years and years since I tried any, not since before I became a Sith Lord." Back when he'd been a teen and living on Coruscant, he'd done just about everything teenagers were warned not to do at one point or another. Not that Sidious had cared what his young ward did in his spare time so long as Maul showed up when he was told to be there and did whatever his master ordered him to do with alacrity.

Willow huffs out a sigh as he keeps reaching out to touch her hair. Fine. It's fine. Something's clearly affecting him, but he seems fairly mellowed out, and she doesn't think she's in any danger from him at the moment. "Yeah, there's that. Plus I've only met two of your people - you and Savage." She really doesn't mind being told she has no concept for the standard of beauty for a Zabrak, and it's a fairly harmless conversation.

"Huh." She can't help but think of the pirates that were around Trench when they first arrived. It's a reminder too that they're probably still out there somewhere. "There's, um, drugs at home too, of course. I've never - they're really dangerous."

"Come. Let's--" He doesn't even really finish the word before his prosthetics seem to stop holding up his weight and he just sort of collapses in a heap on the ground. "--Yes. Sit down," he says as if he's still standing up. Maul doesn't quite seem to have noticed he's already sitting down now. "Hmmm, I need to find a mate for brother. He's good-looking by Nightbrother standards but everyone here seems terrified of him." Couldn't possibly have anything to do with the face he was over seven feet tall, built like a tank, and spent his time glowering in the background as Maul's enforcer now, could it?

"No," Maul says, nodding seriously in agreement. "Drugs are--" He thinks, losing his train of thought. "Drugs are--" He finally gives up. "Drugs are bad," is what he settles on. He looks up at Willow and pats the ground next to him. "Come. Sit. Your hair looks so pretty."

Willow's eyebrows raise. She'd rather not sit on the ground, thanks. This whole thing is baffling. Talking about finding Savage a mate, encouraging her to sit and hang out with them like they're friends.

"Savage? He just needs to let people get to know him more - sure, he's maybe a little intimidating at first, but he's kind of sweet once you get to know him." She quite enjoys the time she's spent with Maul's brother. "I'm not sure he'd thank anyone for messing with his romantic life, though."

Maul tries again to get her to sit, and it's a little tempting to take the opportunity to say no, sorry, another time, maybe - places to be and all. But hanging out with him is providing relief from her migraine.

"Uh, hey, let's go find a bench or something to sit on instead, huh? Come on, get up."

Maul nods approvingly at Willow's description of Savage. It's what he thinks about his brother as well. "No, he gets annoyed when I do it." Maul chuckles for a moment before he rambles on. He'd never be this open with Willow otherwise but right now his tongue has been loosened. "But it is only out of love and care that I do so. He should have a mate and many kits. He'd make a good father, far better than I ever would." Maul is definitely not equipped to raise a child with any sense of normalcy but Savage had a lot of experience caring for their younger brother Feral, so Maul knows he could easily transfer those skills over to caring for children.

"Nooooo, I don't want to stand up anymore," Maul whines like a small child. He's done with moving for the moment, even if his prosthetics would make it very easy for him to move without really putting forth any effort.

She had been a little afraid of Savage at first, mostly because of his connection to Maul, and not being terribly certain whether, with the curse in place, Maul would lose patience and try to seek revenge against her another way. Now that she knows him a little, though, it's far easier to trust him, and she doubts she has much to worry about.

"Well, most people don't want others meddling in their love lives - even if it's family," she points out gently. "But I'm sure he knows it's a sign you care."

She holds her hand out to help him up. "Come on, there's a bench right over there. Then no one's going to step on you."

"If I leave it up to him, he will be old and grey and with cracked horns before he gets around to finding a mate of his own. Meddling is the only way to get him to do anything good for him," he says as a counterpoint. But he does smile a little when she says it's a sign he cares. "I hope he sees it that way. I fear I do not show it enough to him." Sometimes, Maul could be very standoffish and pull away even from someone as close to him as his brother was.

Maul considers the prospects of getting up versus laying there but Willow does have a point. He doesn't want to be stepped on. So with an exaggerated groan he takes her hand and hauls himself to his feet. Staggering over to the bench, he collapses onto it and then flops sideways so that he's lying down on it. He might end up just going to sleep right here once the dozy part of the high hits.

"It's never too late to start. He's made it pretty clear to me that you're the most important person in his life," Willow answers as she braces herself to let him pull himself to his feet.

She watches in bemusement as he lays down on the bench, taking up the whole thing. He certainly looks comfortable enough, and she doesn't think anyone will mess with him if he falls asleep, given the risk of waking him and provoking his rage, but she still feels like she ought to double check. They might not be on the same side, but it doesn't feel right to leave him vulnerable and clearly inebriated. "Are you going to be okay here?"

"Yes. And he is the same for me. I'd do anything to make him happy." Maul usually isn't so blunt with his emotions but the inebriated state he's in has made some of his walls come down. Force help Trench the day something or someone kills Savage for the first time. There wouldn't be a single person in the entire city that would be able to calm down Maul from the state of anger and grief he'll be thrown into.

Maul looks up at Willow from where he's lying, one arm propped behind his head the way he often does when he's sleeping. The Sith Lord isn't concerned with falling asleep in such an unusual place. He's slept in far more uncomfortable places than a bench in the middle of a city. He nods to the young witch. "Oh, I'll be fine. Just fine." He pauses, eyes beginning to shut. As an afterthought, he adds on: "You may stay for a while if you want to. Because I like your hair." So that way Willow can get some relief from her constant migraine.

It still throws her, these times when Maul is downright decent in contrast to the terrifying figure who was more than willing to strike her down in the street outside her own home. She smiles faintly. "Yeah, I've got people like that in my life too."

She glances down as he shuts his eyes to rest, and shakes her head. She doesn't want to disturb him, and she doesn't want to be around when he comes down off his high, and realize the things he's said and done. "Nah, I should get home. You, uh, get some good rest, okay?"

"G'night," Maul mumbles. After his eyes close, it only takes a few minutes before he's fast asleep. He'll wake up a little stiff from sleeping on a bench for hours on end but it's not the worst spot he's ever hung his hat to sleep. When he does awaken, he's going to be mortified and pretend that this never happened at all.
