[ she tilts her head upward in annoyance, pursing her lips. refusing to look at him, she shakes her head. her skin's warm, thanks to his words. she hates that she is blushing.

if she doesn't acknowledge what he says, perhaps the blush will go away. ]

Now, I'll go unkissed.

You're still not looking at me.

( which means she's probably blushing. he laughs because she's being so stubborn. )

Are you that shy? It's kind of cute.

[ she keeps her gaze away from him, turning her head even more. keeping her head tilted defiantly, she even hmphs low in her throat. he's annoying her. she's annoyed. she won't give in to his charm, even though stefan can breathe and she'll find that charming.

[ she's blushing, but that's not important here. ]

Katherine, I can't kiss you when you're not even looking at me.

( so, maybe you should look at him so he can kiss you and at least feel the heat on your cheeks when he touches you. )

Unless you want me to kiss the back of your neck?

[ although she's tempted to turn her head around to look at him, katherine continues to give him her back. he has a nice point, and one that she wouldn't entirely hate. she likes her neck being kissed, and it's been a hot minute since she's teased him silly.

pulling as much of her hair away from her neck, she bows her head to expose her neck. she smiles. ]

That would be a nice start. If you kiss me well, I'll let you kiss my face.

( not that stefan minds kissing her neck. it's actually one of his favorite places to kiss her but he knows what she's doing. he shakes his head because of course she's going to be a hard ass about this.

still, ever the dutiful stefan, he steps closer to her and presses his lips very lightly to her neck. )

[ she sighs quietly, content.

katherine keeps her head bowed as she smiles. that was nice, but it's not enough. it never is. and it's not enough to have her turn around and let him kiss her face, especially after being so unkind as to ruin her mistletoe plan. the porch swing had been such a great ploy to get him to pucker up. ]

It's nice. But I think you could do a little better than that, no?

( she would say that. stefan huffs out a laugh against her neck before he decides that, instead of kissing her, he's going to bite her. not hard, not enough to break skin but he doubts she's expecting it.

and he wants to surprise her. )

[ definitely not expecting that.

katherine squeals, laughing. tugging her shoulders up, she forces herself to relax and tug them down. she doesn't want to dissuade him from doing that again. her heart races in her chest and she feels a little hot. ]

You're a tease.

[ you know how much she likes being bitten. ]

I'm the tease? You're the one that's not letting me kiss you.

( because she was so frightened of a little blush. stefan doesn't bite her again but he does kiss the area he'd bitten. )

Never knew you were afraid of that.

I'm not afraid of a blush.

[ she's afraid of how he'll wield it to use against her. it's a very important and very understandable worry.

keeping her neck bowed, she shivers when he kisses her. this isn't the mistletoe kiss that she wants, but it's good enough for now. ]

I could be persuaded to let you see my blush.

Why do I have to persuade you? Isn't it enough to know that I'd like to see it? That I like that I can make you blush?

( why must you make it so hard on him sometimes, katherine? )

[ she glances over her shoulder at him, smiling. turning back, she rolls her shoulders and bows her head, stretching her neck. ]

I did go to all the trouble of putting a piece of mistletoe out here, Stefan. Don't you think I should be rewarded for my efforts?

And me wanting to see you blush and enjoying it on you isn't a reward? I'd be enjoying you, Katherine.

( because he loves you. )

Yes, I do. And if you denied me one, I would convince you to let me see it and give you another.

[ she brushes her fingers through her hair, waiting patiently for him to tend to her neck again. now that he's started, he shouldn't stop. ]

[ chop, chop. ]

( stefan groans but he does lean forward and starts pressing easy, chaste kisses against her neck. he doesn't try and bite or lick. he just gives her quick pecks. )

Like that? That's good, right?

[ keeping her head bowed, she smiles and closes her eyes. she likes his attentions firmly on her. doesn't matter what they are or how he gives them to her, she likes them very, very, very much. ]

( oh, he'd known. )

( he presses another longer kiss to her neck. )

[ she chuckles low in her throat, sighing contentedly. while she can have him kiss the back of her neck all day long, katherine does turn around. he has earned it, after all.

she gives him the side of her neck. tilting her head to the side, she stretches her neck and elongates it for him. lifting her hand, she touches her fingers to where her neck and shoulder meet. ]

( he doesn't wait for her to say it though, leaning in closer and pressing the flat of his tongue against the indicated spot.

and then he eases back and looks up at her to see if she's going to give him another order or just wait for him to keep going. )

[ she shivers, her breathing growing a touch shallow. it's too quick; it's over before she can enjoy it.

quietly, ] Again, Stef.

[ that's the magic word—his name, her asking for more. katherine thinks that's enough. it should be. stefan has been so simple to please—all he ever wants is her to stay, demand things from him. ]

( good thing stefan hasn't pulled away from her and can easily lean in closer to her and kiss her neck. this time, it's just a peck, barely a brush of his lips. )

Can I kiss you for real now?

( please? he would like to. )

[ chuckling low in her throat, she thinks to deny him. but katherine has always had a very bad track record in denying stefan salvatore. talk about a big and handsome achilles heel. ]

[ she turns to face him, lifting her hand to stop him if he thinks he can simply dive towards her for a smooch.

tilting her head up, she states playfully, ] But make it good. You only get one kiss.

( what's that about? that doesn't seem very fair. he gets all kinds of kisses on any other day but one kiss tonight? no no, he doesn't like that at all. )

And then, what? I can't touch you the rest of the night?

If you give me one good kiss, then perhaps you can give me twenty more.

[ she smiles at him. he needs to earn his good kisses, doesn't he? katherine already knows he'll get one hundred more and then some.

glancing above their heads, she nods towards the sprig. ]
