Yeah- great luck, right? Herbs are almost impossible to find but it grows out by us. You can't have chicken without rosemary.
[Ooh ahhh yes, a chicken. Actual meat and dairy in a place like this where it is so damn hard to get and so damn expensive when you can.]
There's some goats cheese, too. And butter.
no subject
I, uh.
[AHEM]
I can't be around rosemary.
no subject
[Raleigh's brows raise and then furrow]
You're allergic?
no subject
[He puffs out a breath, trying to figure out how to explain this without actually giving Raleigh any of the necessary information. Which would probably be easier if the guy was actually half as dumb as he seemed sometimes.]
[... Come to think of it, does Raleigh even know he's not human?]
It's a magical aversion.
no subject
Magical, huh.. that sounds pretty serious.
[He isn't here to make an issue, though. So he tugs the rosemary sprig out of the twine and looks around a little lost for what to do with it before deciding to stick it down the inside of his left boot and stand to reoffer the parcel.
But.. there's a hesitation.]
Sorry.. I didn't know.
no subject
[He takes the box, a little surprised at the weight of it.]
I appreciate it though. Thank you.
no subject
Yeah.. makes sense..
[No it doesn't.]
And don't mention it. Any time. We're all in this together.
no subject
[anyway, he can tell Raleigh doesn't feel great about that answer but Eames doesn't care. he did say he'd make some effort to stop making Raleigh thinks he hates him though, so. uh. despite the fact that he only barely stops himself rolling his eyes at "we're all in this together", he gestures vaguely with a... Just a gently open expression.]
Arthur should be back soon, if you want to come in for a bit.
no subject
So now here's a conundrum. Does he run because sitting there with Eames might be super awkward or does he take the olive branch for what it is and come and sit and be awkward.
Third option is to be a normal human being and hang out for a while.
Nngh. Should. Probably. Do that.
He offers a small smile and nods, but still gives Eames an out.]
Not necessary if you're busy. I can text him later?
no subject
[There's a hint of a laugh as he says it.]
I can put you in the garden with the dog and the horses if you'd rather not see my face for a while too.
[He's joking. Kind of. But also Raleigh would be fine with a beer and some animals, so like. That absolutely counts as being nice.]
no subject
We'll I'll try my best to keep out from under your feet.
What're you workin on?
no subject
Right now? Dinner, probably.
no subject
[As he trails behind by a step. Gratefully, Raleigh enjoys being in the kitchen. So maybe this won't be as awkward as he feared.]
I think some of them are amethyst deceivers? But I can't be sure and didn't want to risk it. Do you know anything about that stuff?
no subject
A little. The plantlife here's probably a little different to back home though.
no subject
Mm.. yeah. You're probably right.
[Guess you just strike him as someone who would know about alien mushrooms. ]
no subject
[yk when Arthur's not hopped up on moon energy and bloodlust, taking up most of his energy.]
[Anyway time too open that box. Eames sets it on the counter and. Honestly he could kiss Raleigh he's so happy to see that fresh produce.]
no subject
[Raleigh chuckles and gestures at the chicken and eggs. Everything all nice and fresh. Eames seems pleased. He hopes he's pleased.
Raleigh is a coldblood too and he's starting to run out of things to direct his energy into. Maybe why he walked all the way here instead of using a lantern. Give Chuck a little space to breathe. Wear himself down a little to try to find a balance.]
no subject
Do you mind if I put a couple of these out on the altar?
no subject
It's all for you, man. What's the alter for? Can I ask?
no subject
It's for Mabon.
[ Were you expecting more of an explanation? because that was foolish. ]
no subject
[He nods like he understands as he watches the fox come and go.]
Yeah, of course.
no subject
[ He gestures airily with a potato. ]
It was... Important. Back home.
no subject
I like that. The Equinox and stuff.
no subject
[ "English stuff." Raleigh pls. ]
The balance of magic tips at Mabon and Imbolc-- though it doesn't affect most people except those who are very magically sensitive.
[ He considers the potato in his hand a moment and puts it down so he can go get a couple of beers from the fridge. ]
no subject
Which I'm guessing you are. In hindsight I shouldn't be surprised. That's awesome, man.
