Anakin took Shiro's advice and signed up as a part-time cook at the orphanage. It gives him something to do and, more importantly, gives him a way to continue to be a Jedi in a place where his services aren't needed the same way as the were back home. It's a little difficult to adapt to using the Force the way he did when he was younger, back when he used it to do chores at the Praxeum.

Anakin keeps to himself, but he's pretty easy to spot.

He's often in the kitchen, meticulously following a recipe and occasionally complaining under his breath that a 'pinch of salt' is frustratingly inaccurate. Oh, and do watch your head. He occasionally uses his telekinesis to draw things to him so there are pots and pans and even produce floating through the kitchen from time to time. He's good enough not to hit anyone or anything, but it's certainly a bit unusual if one has never met a Force-user.

Once or twice, he might be stopped in the playroom by one of the younger kids. Sometimes he's roped into drawing with them. Sometimes he's telling a dramatic story about a brave Wookie warrior, complete with voices and Force-assisted special effects (mostly moving puppets around and making the occasional toy float). His masters have chastised him for using the Force so casually from time to time, but he thinks even his strictest teachers couldn't fault him for bringing a smile to these kids' faces.

closed to Luke • Airy's garden • early May

Anakin is bound and determined to drag his uncle out for at least a day. Now that he's (kind of) settled in and Luke is (mostly) recovered and the sun is (completely) back, it's a perfect time to take Airy up on her offer. So he messages Luke arranges to meet up at the garden.

Anakin is standing near the entrance in his light-weight brown robes reminiscent of his usual Jedi robes. He has a large bag with a ridiculous amount of snacks in it, which he's already broken into. He chews on a rice cracker and waits. Hopefully Luke shows up before he eats the entire bag of snacks.

open • Airy's garden • mid-May

The sunny weather (and lack of hope-sucking butterflies) has brought Anakin out into the open. Airy had invited him to the garden when he'd first arrived, and he'd been meaning to stop by. He may be used to traveling through space and living on Coruscant (as much as he lives anywhere), but there's nothing like spending time in nature. Anakin strolls through the park and soaks up the energy of the Living Force moving through the garden.

He can be found walking the pathways with the ever-present bugs seeming to avoid him as if he's wearing bug repellent, even though he's constantly munching on something. Every so often, he'll stop to read the plaques and rest a hand against the bark of the trees.

Anakin occasionally stops and meditates under a tree. He's easy to overlook, all tucked away on one of the piles of pillows lying around. In fact, the only easy way to spot him is by his omen, a large tusk cat, resting next to him. It doesn't seem overly interested in others. Rather, it simply stretches out in a patch of sunlight and waits for Anakin to come out of mediation.

To say that his arrival had complicated matters was the understatement of the century. Things had escalated quickly once Anakin Skywalker found out that Luke hadn't been entirely forthcoming about the future.

But some time has passed, Anakin Skywalker's soul bond was broken, and Obi-Wan is awake now. So he reaches out again with a short message via Omni, giving the older Anakin a time, place, and an admission that he hadn't gotten a chance to tell his grandfather everything.

So Anakin tidies up his ramshackle house as best he can and waits more than a little apprehensively.
