[ as much as wanda hates ultron, she has to count him. he'd been a friend once. ]

They looked a little like you. [ which means: not at all. wanda looks above his head before gesturing with her hand. ] Much taller, though.

[rocinantes]

( he rolls his eyes, trying to figure out how he'd even let himself be talked into dressing up. )

I should have just gone as an astronaut.

[explosion]

[ wanda pulls a disgruntled face like she's tasted a lemon. she gently smacks his arm. ]

That would be so boring. That's your day job!

[rocinantes]

It's still a costume!

( and one he's more comfortable in. he makes a face at her. )

You should know that I'm boring already.

[explosion]

You're not as boring as you think.

[ wanda holds out her hand and wriggles her nose, conjuring a mandarin that's already been peeled and split. she pops a slice into her mouth. ]

You are a little boring, but not very boring. You're being a boring robot. [ she gestures to him. ] Is that how you think they walk?

[rocinantes]

I don't care if they walk different, I'm walking like this.

( don't push your luck, wanda. )

This is how the Amos robot walks.

[explosion]

[ wanda suddenly stops walking. she doubles over and smacks her hands against her legs as she snorts with laughter.

god, it feels so good to laugh. ]

Amos robot! [ she heaves in a breath and laughs harder, her witch's hat falling off her head. she repeats in sokovian, ] Amos robot!

[rocinantes]

Stop calling me that.

( it's weird, okay. he makes a face and starts walking in front of her. )

I'm not a robot.

[explosion]

[ wanda doesn't stop laughing. ]

You just said that's how the Amos robot walks.

[ she snorts and starts laughing again like it's the funniest thing she's heard in her entire life. ]

[rocinantes]

But that's not my name and I am not a real robot.

( even if he was feeling a little...stiff. weirdly so. he frowns. )

I should have never listened to you.

[explosion]

It's Halloween!

[ wanda speedwalks to him to cover the distance. she steps out in front of him and walks backward, smiling at him. she's without her witch's hat, which is fine—with a wiggle of her nose, it picks itself up off the ground and floats in the air after them. ]

You can be whoever you want to be on this day. That's the point!

[rocinantes]

And yet, I chose to be a robot because...

( he doesn't know. he frowns when he stumbles a bit, leg locking up.

huh. )

[explosion]

[ he had, hadn't he? she'd teased him and dared him, and here he was, dressed as a robot. she knows that amos would rather dress in his own clothing and be himself tonight, but he hadn't chosen to.

wanda glances away so that she can hide her pleased smile (and perhaps a little bit of a blush). ]

It's a good costume. [ she looks back at him and states matter-of-factly. ] When you win the 'Best Costume Award', it will be because of me. Remember to thank me in your speech.

[rocinantes]

I'm not entering into any contest.

( so he would not win any award, thank you. )

You'd better not be taking me to some Halloween party either.

[explosion]

[ wanda clucks her tongue and sags her shoulders. she pouts at him. ]

But I told all my friends I was bringing a cute robot with me as my date.

[ how can you resist this pouting face? ]

[rocinantes]

You can tell them you lied.

( he makes a face. )

[explosion]

[ wanda feigns a crestfallen look as she sighs heavily, pretending as if he's prompted her to remind her of the fact that he, her date to this alleged party, is no longer her date. ]

I have no date now. How can I even show my face? I'll be a laughing stock.

[rocinantes]

Yeah, I'm sure that's true.

( amos rolls his eyes. )

And I'm sure that it would bother you so much.

[explosion]

I'll just have to find another robot to go with.

[ she sighs dramatically, ignoring him as she walks rather forlornly. there's a sad little air around her. ]

One that's a lot nicer. Cuter.

[rocinantes]

You think there are other people that are gonna dress as robots for you?

( he thinks he's a rare breed, being this nice. )

I don't think even you're that persuasive.

[explosion]

[ she cocks her brow as she looks at him. ]

I can be persuasive.

[ and she's not referring to her magic, of course. she puts her witch's hat back on her head and adjusts it, although it's slightly lopsided. ]

I can be very persuasive. How else did I get you into this costume?

[rocinantes]

Maybe I'm just nice.

( ha. )

And was feeling generous.

[explosion]

[ wanda cocks her brow. ]

You and I both know neither of those two words describes you. [ she wriggles her nose and smiles. ] You wanted to dress up.

[rocinantes]

I wouldn't say it was a want. It was more —

( trying to be nice? he doesn't know. )

Just thought it might be nice to go for a change.

[explosion]

[ while wanda does her best to appear very serious at his response, going as far as nodding, she's just as quick to break into a wide smile. she crinkles her nose in elation. ]

You wanted to dress up!

[ she can read between the lines, burton. ]
