[He shifts his weight from and slides his welcome bag off his shoulder. It's scent proof which means he's been able to travel all the way from Feed without getting hungry beasts on his ass. He speaks as he drops to his knee to get out the rather large parcel he's got in there, wrapped with butcher paper and twine. A fat, fresh rosemary sprig is tied into the knot.]

It's good to see you, man. I thought we'd said goodbye forever. Gotta say we spent a long time wondering what woulda happened if we'd gone with with you.

[Ultimately though, the risk had been too great and they'd said goodbye.

Raleigh offers the parcel which is about the size of a large shoebox and fairly heavy.]

Figured you might be missing home. Thought a decent meal might help.

[That's all this is. Just something nice from friends.]

Careful, there's eggs in here.

[Once he realises what's going on, Eames' smile at the gesture is warm and genuine, (he's a fae, they love gifts,) and he starts to reply. They'd understood why Chuck and Raleigh turned down the invitation — it's a lot of high-risk variables to consider. No hurt feelings.]

[He only gets as far as "we--" before he's hit with a background hum of panic and a compulsion to back up. Just a step, not too far, and if it hadn't caught him by surprise he might be able to resist it. But he does indeed back up, frowning first in confusion, and then in recognition when he looks at that knot on the box Raleigh's presenting.]

Is that rosemary?

[Boxer, meanwhile, has taken Raleigh getting down on a knee as a sign to come over and lick his face.]

[Oh my god Boxer you're so cute c'mere sweet baby angel. Raleigh laughs at the sudden dog affection and moves the package to hold with one hand so he can pet Boxer with the other and give Eames a chance to take his damn gift. C'mon man it's heavy.]

Yeah- great luck, right? Herbs are almost impossible to find but it grows out by us. You can't have chicken without rosemary.

[Ooh ahhh yes, a chicken. Actual meat and dairy in a place like this where it is so damn hard to get and so damn expensive when you can.]

[He puffs out a breath, trying to figure out how to explain this without actually giving Raleigh any of the necessary information. Which would probably be easier if the guy was actually half as dumb as he seemed sometimes.]

[Thanks to that thing with Yancy he's pretty damn sure Eames isn't but no one has clued him in to the Tinkerbell Situation.]

Magical, huh.. that sounds pretty serious.

[He isn't here to make an issue, though. So he tugs the rosemary sprig out of the twine and looks around a little lost for what to do with it before deciding to stick it down the inside of his left boot and stand to reoffer the parcel.

But.. there's a hesitation.]

[He takes the box, a little surprised at the weight of it.]

[anyway, he can tell Raleigh doesn't feel great about that answer but Eames doesn't care. he did say he'd make some effort to stop making Raleigh thinks he hates him though, so. uh. despite the fact that he only barely stops himself rolling his eyes at "we're all in this together", he gestures vaguely with a... Just a gently open expression.]

Arthur should be back soon, if you want to come in for a bit.

[Oh.. wow. A gesture Raleigh was really not expecting.

So now here's a conundrum. Does he run because sitting there with Eames might be super awkward or does he take the olive branch for what it is and come and sit and be awkward.

Third option is to be a normal human being and hang out for a while.

He offers a small smile and nods, but still gives Eames an out.]

[There's a hint of a laugh as he says it.]

I can put you in the garden with the dog and the horses if you'd rather not see my face for a while too.

[He's joking. Kind of. But also Raleigh would be fine with a beer and some animals, so like. That absolutely counts as being nice.]

[Like honestly that sounds nice so. He's easy. So he nods and takes the offer to come in.]

We'll I'll try my best to keep out from under your feet.

[The door closes behind Raleigh, don't overthink it, and Eames starts toward the kitchen to set the box down and figure out what to do with all of it.]

Right now? Dinner, probably.

That makes sense. I'm still not too sure if the mushrooms we've got growing are edible or not so I gave them a miss..

[As he trails behind by a step. Gratefully, Raleigh enjoys being in the kitchen. So maybe this won't be as awkward as he feared.]

I think some of them are amethyst deceivers? But I can't be sure and didn't want to risk it. Do you know anything about that stuff?

[Just don't try to help or he'll bodily remove you from said kitchen.]

[Raleigh chuckles and gestures at the chicken and eggs. Everything all nice and fresh. Eames seems pleased. He hopes he's pleased.

Raleigh is a coldblood too and he's starting to run out of things to direct his energy into. Maybe why he walked all the way here instead of using a lantern. Give Chuck a little space to breathe. Wear himself down a little to try to find a balance.]

[ Eames is very pleased. They're the kind of eggs he'd've had to pay a pretty penny for back in London. There's a slight smile as he sets those aside and picks up one of the carrots ]

Do you mind if I put a couple of these out on the altar?

[He gestures as if to say of course, by all means.]

[ a black fox comes in, hops up on the counter, and takes a carrot from Eames to go put it outside. ]
