(open) miyagi-do gathering for new & existing students!
Who: You, you, and you!
What: For members of Miyagi-do, those interested in Miyagi-do, and whoever else might end up there! (Visiting a friend, etc)
When: Some time first half of month.
Where: At Miyagi-do Dojo in Crenshaw!
MIYAGI-DO: A NEW DAY (AN APRIL LOG)
Miyagi-do has seen some unexpected activity in the last few weeks, but has also--fortunately--seen a return to normality. An upgrade, even, where the damage sustained after a student's accidental explosion caught parts of the dojo in the ensuing chaos now gone after hard work hired, with thanks to the builders and those who helped with funds.
Even the sensei of the dojo has recovered from his own injuries, welcoming students--old and potentials--to classes. Along with a few touch-ups to the dojo, there are other changes, new and old, that should be addressed:
And in his announcement for the start of April's lessons, Sensei LaRusso has a bracelet to share to those who want one, after he's explained what they are. They're ice-powered bracelets--not super powerful, but with proper training they can be used as a means of defence. Spread ice over the ground, freeze certain limbs to surfaces, or even use it to shroud an enemy's face just long enough to distract them.
Sensei LaRusso will show how to use the bracelets to manifest the ice, and Robby Keene will also help in demonstrations, as well as with students individually. Dummies and can be used as stationary targets, and are a great way to learn how to disappear the ice, too--especially if you want to focus on using them for actual living targets, which either Sensei LaRusso or Robby can help with (or, if you're really that into getting iced...!).
Feel free to make your own toplevels on this log, it's meant as a mingle for existing students and those interested in checking out Miyagi-do! You can hang around the snack table, practice some karate, meet the teachers (and food provider...), maybe try out the new fun ice bracelets or.. you know, you can always just hang out with Daniel's Omen. He's a good boy who will stop to get belly rubs from everyone. You can't reject him. Sorry if you sat down for three seconds and are now stuck with a dog on your lap. He will not move.

Even the sensei of the dojo has recovered from his own injuries, welcoming students--old and potentials--to classes. Along with a few touch-ups to the dojo, there are other changes, new and old, that should be addressed:
1. A (SEMI-)NEW SENSEIHe's been around for a month now, but here's your formal introduction to Miyagi-do's second sensei, Sensei Toguchi. Sensei LaRusso would have introduced him as a...not old, but dear friend from back home who has also learned from the school of Miyagi-do back in Okinawa. Skilled in the use of sais, you may find Sensei Toguchi a different kind of sensei from Daniel LaRusso. But we'll let you see that for yourself.
2. YOUR VERY OWN SNACK PROVIDERTruthfully, this is a figure who's been around the dojo since the start, doing exactly what he does now...but Daniel LaRusso would not be himself if he didn't take some time to introduce Hakkai to the class as the person who makes their snacks and refreshments. Because Hakkai deserves his thanks, and you cannot escape a dad man like Daniel.
3. ICE BRACELETS: A NEW FORM OF PROTECTIONMiyagi-do has always worked to help individuals with what it is they want out of the dojo. Sometimes, this can just mean having somewhere to meditate and to find comfort in your own body than to focus on the fighting aspect. But Miyagi-do always leans towards protection, and learning how to respond and to engage with danger. It works to help individuals learn how they can use their own powers in ways that they prefer.

ENDING NOTESThis log covers the first lesson of April, as well as continuing forward if you want to add extra days and lessons! Please familiarise yourself with what Miyagi-do teaches. Newcomers are welcomed, and there will always be a place to get food and drink...thank you, Hakkai.
Feel free to make your own toplevels on this log, it's meant as a mingle for existing students and those interested in checking out Miyagi-do! [ Maybe there's something on your mind. If it shows enough on your face, you will definitely have Daniel approaching you - or maybe it's just because you're new to the dojo and checking things out, which will end up with the same thing. Daniel approaching, a very amicable smile on his face as he offers: ]
Anything I can help you with?
[ Just look at this man. He looks So Ready to help. ]
( b. ice practice help )
[ Or maybe you've grabbed one of the ice bracelets and you're still struggling a little. It's only natural, really - Daniel arrived here with this power already inside of his blood, and it still took him a good while until he stopped accidentally freezing everything around him. If you've asked him for help with it, then Daniel will gladly and patiently run through this with you, standing in front of you with a smile. ]
Alright, so it's very important to stay calm for this. If you get too worked up, it's easy for the entire ice business to get out of hand. [ Trust him, this is a man speaking from experience.. ] Can you take a calm, deep breath?
[ He'll wait. ]
( c. resting )
[ Really, Daniel is pretty much healed. He is - for once - not faking it, nor really pushing himself, considering he did have quite a few weeks and some magical help to fully rest and heal up after what happened to him.
But despite the fact that his back is no longer broken, a few weeks of mostly lying around in bed do take a lot out of a guy, especially at Daniel's age. He has enough energy to help out plenty of people during the lesson with talking and karate practice and ice power practice, sure, but-- after a while? He has to sit down on the backsteps that lead to the inside dojo, letting out a deep breath as he does so.
Anyone can find him sitting there, his puppy Omen on his lap, getting the belly scritches the creature so thoroughly desires. Daniel will look up if anyone approaches, giving them a smile that's only a little tired around the edges. ]
So, how's the first proper lesson in a while, huh? Worth the wait?
B
Chrollo will play whatever role he needs to play, and this one is familiar. Novice. It's true with blood magic, but blood magic is so similar to nen in many ways.
He takes a deep, calming breath as instructed.]
I wouldn't have guessed you were an icy coldblood. What kind of getting worked up makes it the worst?
[Sensei LaRusso comes across as very warm and open. But perhaps he has the kind of temper that runs cold and slow? Or maybe there's some other aspect of Daniel that would fit better with ice.]

after all, he's pretty sure he'd just upset daniel if he punished himself. and daniel has enough troubles of his own without having to worry about that.
so he spends time back in the dojo, trying to help out. here it's bringing a cup of tea with him, because yes sensei, he noticed you looking a little tired. he came towards the end of the lesson and mostly stayed back, and now he's taking a seat next to daniel and offering him the cup.]
It was- well, I'm sorry I missed it. [he really is. even just coming towards the end made him realize sunny was probably right and he shouldn't avoid practice, even for robby. there was daniel to think of too.] I like Sensei Toguchi, he's an interesting person.

It was ...interesting.

Sunny heads over towards the back steps, sitting down next to Daniel before he even says anything. He takes a moment or two to stare at the adorable puppy. He really liked the little guy.]

his sensibilities seemed close to her own, so when she heard that there was going to be open training, Lexi had to at least try. she felt like she owed it to Sasuke to not let her skills atrophy.
even more importantly, she owed it to herself. she'd finally managed to gain full control over her darkblood powers, but she knew she couldn't always depend on them.
so when Mr. LaRusso asked her if she had anything she needed help with, she couldn't help feeling her cheeks warm in a blush]
Well, uh. I wanted to talk to you? About starting training at your dojo? I have experience, I'd been studying with Sasuke for a year so I'm not, like. Totally green? Is that...something you think you can help with?

general help (but with demons)
But otherwise, he's his usual Peter Self, perpetually a little shy but certainly comfortable here at the dojo. The incident with Mob struck close to home with him, and there's been an ache reserved in his heart for the younger boy (whom Peter has also been keeping a Worried Eye on, make sure he's doing okay). But things are going..... well. Moving forwards, and it's.... nice. It feels good; he's happy.
At some point, however, a certain demon begins to grow bored. It's not that Paimon dislikes it here, and the meditative focus calls to his spirit, is something he can appreciate. But now that Peter's actually joined an organisation, it means that he devotes more time to it, and Paimon is simply not used to his reclusive, depressed host actually leaving the house and doing things. And as the day goes on, the demon progressively gets more and more restless in his boredom. He wants to go home and see his witch, and there's a project in his mind that he wants to start working on, he has things to do.... but Peter is still here at The Karate.....
When Daniel approaches Peter, the boy is looking a little lost, standing there off to the side by himself, just kind of... gazing at nothing. That sort of behaviour isn't altogether out of character for Peter "Dissociative" Graham, but what happens next is.....well.
As soon as Daniel speaks to him, Peter, who is not much of Peter at all anymore, slowly turns his head to stare at the man, eyes wide and pupils kind of funny, too swollen. Paimon's never properly come face to face with Daniel, only ever peeked out at him from time to time. But right now he's a little agitated, and it's The Teacher that he'll take it out on...
Abruptly, he drops into a low crouch, long limbs bent at angles like some large spider there on the ground. Those black eyes flash up at Daniel, and he gives a sharp, spitting, hiss. It's not terribly aggressive (at least for Paimon.... this is mostly just him Expressing His Displeasure), although it's probably.... alarming..... )

chozen toguchi | ota
[ The man in the black gi stalking up and down the dojo gardens could hardly project a more different impression than Daniel LaRusso's affable warmth. His weathered face is stuck in a perpetual serious scowl as he supervises lessons in kata and weapons training, intervening to make swift corrections to any errors he catches.
Thus, it might be intimidating to the uninitiated to be approached by Sensei Toguchi with his brows knit together like angrily conspiring caterpillars, unfolding one hand from behind his back to hold it up in an unmistakable gesture to stop whatever move they were in the middle of practising. ]
You. [ He shakes his head, producing a small, teacherly noise from the back of his throat. ] What is it you are doing, and what is the purpose?
[ Easy questions for beginners to answer, surely! No pressure at all. ]
2. gotta catch 'em all
[ At the end of the announcements of April lessons, Sensei Toguchi adds a casual yet menacing addendum about a 'special lesson' for 'dedicated students who wish to improve their fighting bond', and tacks a sign up sheet in a readily accessible part of the dojo. It contains no details but an exhortation to appear at a certain time in the outdoor dojo with your Omen present.
Those who are curious or bold enough to muster out sight unseen for mysterious karate purposes find themselves rallied into organized rows by the stern sensei and his own Omen, a little bird who somehow projects as much foreboding presence as her Sleeper. Once both are satisfied with the number of students and the neatness of their formation, he comes to the head of the group and looks over the assembly with grim resignation. The already uncomfortable silent stretches out as his probing not-quite-glare continues, long enough that even the most patient student must be starting to wonder what - ]
Attention!
[ Sensei Toguchi barks, demonstrating the straight backed, stiff armed posture he expects. At his side, his Omen bobs up and down, then (for any students not already accustomed to the etiquette of these lessons) prompts them with a subtle bow. ]
Students of Miyagi-do, I have been watching you, and it is good you have come to this lesson today...
[ Encouraging? ]
...because you have much to learn!
[ His Omen bobs again, then begins to pace back and forth behind him, tracing out the width of the line of students. Chozen folds his hands behind his back and deepens his scowl. ]
Today, we learn lesson about dogs and wolves.
Look at your Omen. They are good friends, yes? Loyal, faithful, wanting to help you, like dogs. So they will be our dogs for lesson.
But what else is a dog? [ Rhetorical. ] A dog used to be like wolves until they became our friends, and wolves have never forgiven them for that! So we must protect our dogs from the wolves, and not let them be captured, or we would not be good friends to them.
[ From his sleeve, Chozen produces his Omni, which already displays...a ticking countdown. He brandishes it at the assembled students, giving each of them a good look at the two minutes shown on its face, dwindling away. ]
You have until the wolf howls to prepare! Protect your dogs, or the wolf will take them from you!
[ At last, Chozen grins. Wolfishly. ]
Go!
[ Time to scatter - or perhaps waste some time fumbling out questions about this completely clear, unambiguous, definitely not confusing lesson and its parameters. Prepare to hide, defend, or otherwise act to protect your Omen from the unspecified looming threat however you see fit, for as long as you can. Good luck out there. ]
3. prison blues (captured student mingle prompt)
[ If (or, quite realistically, when) each Sleeper student finds themselves caught, the Sleeper and Omen pairs are tagged out by the clearly unhinged Sensei Toguchi and directed to a corner of the dojo grounds to wait out the rest of the lesson.
The penalty area is split up between Sleepers and their Omens. The captured Sleepers must sit alone on the ground while their Omens are corralled at a remove from them, guarded by Sensei Toguchi's bossy Omen who alternates between herding them into a pile and attempting to scale said pile to sit on it, glaring balefully at any who dare approach her brood of hostages.
Students may feel free to talk among themselves, if they like. It isn't like Sensei Toguchi can possibly be in so many places at once he can show up mid-rampage to bother you here.
Right? ]
4. gotta catch 'em all (part two)
[ After the first round of hubbub, Sensei Toguchi sits down in front of the captured students, looking slightly worse for wear and yet somehow also revitalized, like terrorizing people for obscure reasons is all good sport. He claps his hands together and rubs them, scanning the crowd of students in their various moods of defeat. ]
So. Who thinks they have learned lesson?
1.
Which means he has some free time. So here he is, doing karate katas rather than sword katas.
He's hardly doing them perfectly, but he doesn't stop or even seem flustered when Chozen turns his attention to him. He can talk without missing a beat.]
I'm moving through beginning karate katas, at half speed, because this is not a style of martial arts I'm well versed in, and I must start at the foundations.
[Now there's a beat, and hint of tease in his tone he adds-]
Also I'm being present with you and my fellow students, Sensei Toguchi.
[Yes, yes, it's an overly 'wise' suck up answer. It also happens to be true. He's less interested in learning karate for its own sake, although he every intention of giving it due attention in practice, and more here for the community of the dojo.]

When Chozen approaches he scares in confusion for a minute. Eventually he raises a hand and points to himself.]
Me? Dude. I'm this places top competition. But I'm not here for a fight.
What about you? Aren't you the fucking statue I ran into a month ago?
(no subject)
Wildcard. Wildbird.
Despite the best efforts of the small bird at his heels attempting to herd him. Very persistently. He mostly ignores the head bobbing and other posturing until the wing-flaring starts. That, apparently, his own omen takes offense at.
Chrollo turns enough to gently grab the twelve-legged spider before it can jump down off his shoulder and start posturing.]

And it helps that Chozen picking up a lesson - or a special lesson - gives Daniel a little bit more time to rest. Even if his back was healed magically for a good deal, the man doesn't exactly want to test the limits of that magic and hurt his back all over again.
So he's content to be here for this, but just-- watching. Sitting. He's being good and staying quiet while Chozen is acting out his entire spiel, not wanting to ruin the moment. Instead Daniel just looks over at the kids while petting the Omen on his lap, all the way until the kids disperse to look for proper hiding places or protective methods. ]
You think they're going to do well? [ There's no tone in Daniel's voice to indicate what he himself thinks - like he's entirely asking mister wolf's opinion over here, smiling a little at Chozen.
Daniel's Omen hops off his lap, trotting a few steps before flopping down on the deck right next to Chozen's Omen. He surrenders. Yes, he knows, he's not part of this exercise. But he would just like to be part of this cuddle pile? Yes? Please? Thanks?
Daniel himself seems to ignore the creature, instead still glancing at Chozen as he's speaking on. ]
It's pretty different from what they're used to.
[ If not just because Daniel is as intimidating as a stick of butter. ]

2. gotta catch 'em all | OTA for the exercise
His eyes immediately widen at the clock. He's used to lessons beginning with no warning--being thrown off a cliff at summer camp, for example. But this time he has training in setting up triage areas and defending them to the death. He springs immediately to action.
"Everyone! Stick together! Keep our Omens over there! No one crosses this line!"
He's got the spirit and the idea of a plan, but he doesn't know everyone in class well. He's a nerd who is good at karate but gives off the impression that he'd be shoved into a locker by anyone from Eagle Fang. (He also attends classes at Eagle Fang...) Just who does this guy think he is? Some kind of hero? Considering only some people followed his lead during his Provisional Hero License Exam 2 years ago, this... may go poorly.

there are two very obvious explanations for this: one, his omen doesn't seem like it wants to work with him at all. the very plain looking shibe mostly ignored him and only attempted to handle the problem when chozen was already there and bearing down on them with the wrath of whatever it is that fuels this new, vaguely unhinged sensei.
two, mob's... hm, not great at karate. or creative solutions.
even if he did think powers were fair to use here he wouldn't have, so that left him with extremely middling karate prowess and below average physical stamina. he probably tried to run from chozen and tripped. just a real sad state of affairs. to be fair he was kind of blank faced and passive in the beginning but the whole exercise broke that shell a bit, leaving him to look a lot more present as he hesitantly raises his hand,]

And presumably any means of doing so were fair.
Once the timer begins he picks up Mewo and pets her, eliciting a 'mew' from the cat omen. He glances upwards to consider, before he has her poof away into the black smoke ether that omens live in when they weren't by their sleeper's side.
Perhaps this was cheating, but Sunny didn't think so. The goal was to not let Mewo be captured and this was the most sure way of accomplishing that goal. It wasn't as though Chozen could access her where ever she was now to take her.
So with that done he kind of just walks off and finds somewhere a little out of the way to sit until the timer goes off.]

2 & 3 (cw: Peter's omen is a snake)
( Peter is not really that much of a "dedicated student" and also feels exceptionally nervous about the thought of "improving his fighting bond", and so there is really no reason he should be doing this exercise, except that he's the (black) sheep that follows the herd and he has no willpower of his own, and so there he stands..... shakily....as Chozen and his tiny, equally intimidating Omen, lay down how this is going to go.
Sensei Toguchi scares Peter, to be frank, and he has mostly tried to stay out of the man's way as much as he possibly can! And now he is faced with the prospect of being hunted down by some kind of wolf— oh Peter's already panicking. As soon as the Go is cleared, he's scrambling — stupidly, back and forth and following someone else for awhile before they split off and he ends up on his own again. This is even worse than when you're a kid playing Hide & Seek.... his anxiety can't take this.....
At his feet is a seven-foot-long python, which is altogether not an easy thing to hide. Susurrus tends to keep a low profile at the dojo anyway, because he doesn't want to spook Daniel — so the snake is trying to flatten itself to the grass as it slithers, keeping an eye out. Meanwhile, Peter is.... a nervous wreck as he simply moves from one area of the dojo to the next. Never really hiding Susurrus, just.... running. He spends the whole time running around in a nervous whirlwind — occasionally pausing to stare widely around, and then just... run off in another direction. He has probably already failed this lesson. )
3. PRISON BLUES — OPEN FOR CAPTURED STUDENT MINGLING !
( There sits Peter Graham, one of the dojo's oldest students on the roster of predominately young teenagers — twenty years old, riddled with depression and demons. He's usually an anxious, shy, gloomy presence (although he does like it here), and you've probably noticed that he's not very good at.... much. Certainly he struggles with any physical parts of karate, and even the mental lessons he often has difficulty with....
It's really no surprise that he ends up among the first to be captured....
So there he is on the ground, long legs folded inwards and posture hunched, looking nervous and nauseated. This lesson has..... shaken him (not that it takes much to shake Peter) and he's casting a wide-eyed look around, like he's expecting Sensei Toguchi to pop up again any moment. Peter's pretty intimidated by the guy (and his bird) and casts a furtive glance over to where the little Omen is guarding the hostages....
His own, a seven-foot-long python, is of course part of the captives, curled up and staring widely, occasionally sticking his forked tongue out, unmoving.
Peter's eyes slowly return to his own area, and if there's anyone else around — whether you've been sitting here for a bit or are freshly joining the prison of shame, he utters quietly under his breath — )
Does that guy freak you out?

He had not expected to walk in on this elaborate game of Manhunt that Chozen had arranged. Waver moved in time when the students scattered, scooping up Gray with a protective sweep and holding here close to his chest. The Omen, while ever vigilant, was grateful to paw at Waver's braid while the scene unfolded.]
I hope that challenge was only for the students and not visitors,
[He said mildly as Chozen drew near. To his credit, he stood his ground. While he obviously was a city boy and only trained enough to keep his body semi-functional when he even remembered to, he knew better than to cave to fear on the battlefield.]
I was going to take Jun out for a sandwich later. He seems like he needs a supportive ear lately, and we really should be taking any chances for outings while we can.

Jun Ushiro | OTA
[Jun doesn't really like participating. Those who he's been in classes with are likely to find that he's usually pretty quiet, focusing very hard on getting every movement correct and looking frustrated when he's off, even by the tiniest bit. He rarely speaks up unless he really has to (or he's singled out to do so) and while he's not very physically strong he is very precise, provided he has his glasses on.]
[He can be found doing katas and attacking dummies pretty easily when class is in session. If anyone's been noticing he's attacking with increasing ferocity since the Mob Incident - but a punch with little power behind it is still a weak punch, no matter if it's delivered to the exact right spot or not.]
[II - After Class]
[Jun doesn't hang around much after classes unless he's forced to. He usually packs up and leaves pretty quickly after lessons are over, but today he's lingering a little bit. Part of it seems to be to check on sensei LaRusso if the way he's glancing over at the man is any indication, but part of it...]
[Well, it's hard to tell. He's hard to read on the best of days, and today doesn't seem to be one of those. He instead sits off in a corner with his golden retriever omen, watching everyone else. He pets his omen gently and seems a bit lost in thought, but not so much so that he won't stare at anyone coming near.]
[III - Chill Out]
[Okay now this? This is something he can use. Jun's practicing pretty hard with the ice bracelet, trying to focus hard on what he's doing. This kind of mental exercise seems to be something he can do, as he seems to be picking up on it a little faster than one might expect.]
[That doesn't mean there aren't mishaps. Ever see a boy accidentally fling himself into a fence because he didn't judge how far the ice went? Now you have! He's also managed to freeze one of the plants by accident, as well as stick his glasses to his face with a thin layer of frost.]
[Oops.]

iii
Jun (hopefully) won't have to suffer it too long, before he'll find the ice and its cold recede, and standing there Robby, pulling back his hand--as if pulling away the ice, though it seems to just disappear. ]
You wanna make me your target?
[ The offer is lightly given, a small smile on Robby's face. ] I'd like to see how quick you can react.
[ Robby's seen Jun. He's precise, he might not have the physical power to take on a beast, but he's got determination. That can more than make up for the lack of personal power.
Especially in a world like this. ]

If he were like this at lightsaber practice, his masters would - well, Kanan would probably have let it slide and then straight up asked what was bothering him, if his mood hadn't improved by the end of practice. Obi-wan would come at it more indirectly by noting he was unbalanced, and leave it to Ezra to open up or correct the issue.
But Ezra's not any sort of teacher here, or even a more experienced student at this dojo. He's not here to disrespect Miyagi-do in any way. Jun's not doing anything actually dangerous. Well, not dangerous in an immediate sense, that could warrant breaking those respectful boundaries.
And, yet, Jun might notice Ezra watching a little, and glancing around to try to work out if the resident senseis have all this on their radar.

Hakkai | OTA
[Well, after that introduction, Hakkai almost wants to duck into the kitchen or the broom closet he'd been teasing Daniel about. There's no need for that kind of recognition! He's just doing a job. He's good at housework. So he may as well carry it on. He does bow politely at the introductions, smile his way through it... and then goes right on like nothing happened.]
[He's not a part of the class, after all. Though perhaps he could offer his services as a sparring partner if someone needed.]
[That's why he's watching said class afterward, sweeping up around the place here and there. He's not trying to be intrusive, just casually keeping an eye on what's going on. If Daniel is so keen on protecting these people, he may as well learn how they defend themselves. It would be easier to join into a potential fight if he knows their rhythms.]
KITCHEN;
[Ah yes, the reason he's been introduced. And this room? This is his now. Forget the broom closet. This kitchen is organized to hell and back, and, frankly, spotless. Even with various things laid out for the students - sandwiches, rice wrapped in seaweed, mushroom jerky - the kitchen is clean.]
[And Hakkai is busying himself with tea. A pitcher of it - with ice. Hope you don't take it sweetened, you heathens.]
GENERAL;
[For the most part, Hakkai is available around the dojo doing various chores. He'll greet anyone he sees, pleasantly enough, and bustle off about his business. His Omen is almost constantly on his shoulders, draped around them like a scarf - a white dragon with red eyes, who seems mostly neck and tail, more than anything.]
[... If you hear him talking to it, it sounds like the Omen's name is, of all things, Jeep.]
classes
Congratulations on the formal introduction. Do we call you Mister Hakkai?
[ ...as if this guy hasn't been here day one. But look, Robby finds Mister LaRusso publicly beaming about people very funny (and nice). ]

robby keene
kind of 2... kind of 3..... i'm making my own party
But after it happens once, or maybe twice, Robby isn't greeted by the cute little puppy-like creature the third time.
Instead the Omen is in its larger form. The way it moves is calm though, despite the shift into the form it usually only takes on when there's some sort of danger around. The shisa sits down right in front of where Robby is sitting, rather than moving onto his lap - if not just because it's way too big to lie down there in this form..
.. or maybe it's just so the Omen can stare at Robby, since it's what the shisa is doing right now, staring directly into the teenager's eyes unless Robby moves to avoid his gaze.
"Robby."
It seems like the creature may not say anything else, but then it does slowly continue again.
"There is something."
.. though it'd sure help if the creature was a little less cryptic, huh.

mob
[mob is, perhaps, unsurprisingly not there for the first practice or two daniel sets up. that doesn't mean he isn't around though, for anyone heading through the dojo. he's always been on the quiet side, blending into the background, but that is doubled in the wake of everything.
for example, if you are new you may suddenly hear a voice behind you asking,] Do you need help? [and there's a vaguely creepy little dude just standing there, blandly watching.
for fellow dojo members he's much more likely to hover over, though it's painfully obvious to anyone with eyes he's avoiding robby at the moment.]
bonsai.
[one of mob's favorite parts of karate is the bonsai, if he's honest. he's not very good at it but he's learning, finds the slow, careful tending to be really rewarding. he can often be found in the area with the bonsais, greeting each upon entering and making very pointless remarks, since he learned it's good to talk to plants.
perhaps someone will come in to find him looking at one of the plants, turning his head with a tiny smile as he points out,] It has fruit.
[a very tiny little pomegranate, maybe, and given his expression lately has been deeply apologetic or completely blank the hint of enthusiasm and satisfaction is a welcome change of pace.]
ice time.
[after everything mob's not really sure about the bracelets. he thinks they're a good idea, to be sure, but the last thing he needs is more powers, especially when powers are the reason he has to keep his head down when he walks to class, or back home. or why he's still learning to cope with a lot of guilt in the aftermath of everything.
but maybe having something not actually tied to his own power would be useful? and daniel made it for them, so he feels a bit of obligation to at least give it a try.
which will absolutely result in someone at practice or just walking by seeing him slip on the ice he just made on the floor and stare up at the ceiling like the world is a baffling and mysterious place and he is simply along for the ride.]
bonsai
This was nice.
The pomegranate is so tiny. Itty bitty.]
It's so small. It's cute. [Sunny appears pleased in his own way.]

WHERE SNACKS ARE CONCERNED
A BOO-BOO?
A Boo-Boo 😔
Except he does keep freezing his fingers and hands. They're bright red and clearly on the verge of frostbite if not already there. There's a few cracks in his skin from where the constantly melting and freezing water has broken it open a little.
So he's hardly terribly injured when he notes the boy with the first aid kit. (Who looks kind of familiar?) Having something to put on his aching hands would be nice, though.
He walks up and stares for a moment or two before-]
Could I use that first aid kit?

sunny
[Actually fighting had not been something Sunny practiced much around the dojo. He'd been more focused on the inner peace aspect and trying to learn how to utilize his powers. It didn't help that he wasn't particularly strong. He probably needed to learn how to use a weapon but he didn't know how to do that, either.
He's at least trying to attack the dummies with some feeble punches. His form needs work and he'd be more than receptive to any improvements anyone could offer.]
hanging around
[Sitting cross legged was the typical meditative stance, but it wasn't what Sunny was doing. Instead you can find him laying down, staring up at the ceiling off to the side of the inside dojo. It might not look like it but he's trying to focus. Someone with sensitivity to these sort of things might be able to notice that he's giving off an aura, one that changes colors every few minutes.]
ice
[The ice bracelets are a great new addition. Sunny is quite pleased with them in his own mild way. They offered the ability to actually defend himself when things got dangerous around trench. He had his paleblood powers, yes, but he was never certain if they'd work on any particular creature.
People, yes? Everything else? Who could say.
But most things could be frozen. Including Sunny's fingers, which are a little red. He's not actually trying to attack at all with the ice, however. He's attempting to focus hard enough to make ice sculptures. They're messy, however, and the one before him now only vaguely resembled a cat if it was made up of stacks of ice cubes.
He'd probably get it eventually.]
